i wish i had seen this before I made a sequin set, but I'll definitely save these tips for my next projects❤ You are so creative and thank you for sharing your knowledge
Thank you so much. New year and a leap into projects and fabrics which have scared me forever. Thank you. Great video, great pace, great photography and encouragement. Happy 2020!
Oh yes my dear friend, your videos or help to a lot of people! I love seeing your lovely, friendly face giving us great tips in sewing advice! One quick question, do you not recommend using a serger on this type of fabric?
+1SewSweet Hello Myra....I consider the blade and the level of broken sequins ending up inside the machine and dulling the blade. Even after this project, I had to go in and really clean my machine of any pieces. I even found some of the shards in my "thread cutter". That is a really problem with these new computerized sewing machines. As for the serger, I would be care with using the blades. I'm sure its done in RTW because they use "industrial" machines.
Wow thank you so much for this video! I want to make prom dresses & u know sequence fabric has the young kids going crazy so I need to know how to sew it perfectly!

I would do exactly the same. I think the reason this works is because the sequins pose the problem, not the type of fabric. The stretch of the fabric was not used as part of the fitting because, any amount of stretch would have distorted the placement of the sequins.
Good Morning, what advice do you have for working with larger sequins(pailettes) is it better to just remove them from the stitching line? This is a wonderful tutorial by the way!
Try this one. Sewing of The Snakeskin Sequin Pant Set ruclips.net/video/Lgs5jq6mEUw/видео.html I prefer stay stitching the seam with a tiny stitch then remove the sequins. But you really need to check the back of the fabric.
Would you do a video on how to add lining to a skirt? I follow on periscope as well. This skirt and your red blouse you made for New Years Eve was so very pretty. Thanks
so very kind of you to teach us this skill. I'm glad to come here before taking on such a task. if possible can you use a lighter colored fabric so we won't miss any detail? thanks sis!
+Valerie Anderson You are welcome. I feel the close ups were close enough to give you a good idea, especially since this was a sponsored fabric post from www.smfabric.com and I did very close camera angles. I appreciate you giving me the feedback. I really do. Just some areas are beyond my control based on the cost and quality of the fabric.
Wow! Amazing. I am getting ready to make a flower girl's dress with a sequin bodice, and I am nervous because I have never worked with sequin before. I am happy to find your station. I am working with the same type sequin. What size needle did you use? How do you put in an invisible zipper? Thank you for your tips!
+Bridget Gainous I don’t remember the needle. But I’m sure it’s on the video. Personally, I would start with a jeans needle size 14 because it is strong and sharp. Also, I didn’t use a zipper this time.
I tried to use a over lock machine with my sequins fabric and my needle keeps breaking, what am I doing wrg? I have four4 different sewing machines, a over lock ,a computerized sewing machine , a basic sewing machine and a embroidery sewing machine. Which one do you suggest to use with sequins fabric and settings?
+Latoya Bradley Ingram I wouldn't put my overlock through that damage. A regular sewing machine is all you need. I would find another option for finishing your sequined seams.
Thank you so much...when I watch your videos, it makes things seem so much easier as if I can do it...thanks for taking the time out that you do for sharing and helping us all out....much appreciated..Lynette aka @bortap2

Your tutorial is thorouh, extremely helpful. How would you handle seams and darts using a sequined woven (non-stretch) fabric?
I would do exactly the same. I think the reason this works is because the sequins pose the problem, not the type of fabric. The stretch of the fabric was not used as part of the fitting because, any amount of stretch would have distorted the placement of the sequins.
Thanks for these tips, it worked very well. Happy holidays and happy New Year 💞💞
