I've practised martial arts for 35 years searching for the answer's to effective self protection. I taught British police personal safety training a few years ago and I've seen thousands of you tube clips of 'how to deal with'. Yet, this is the only you tube channel I've only subscribed to. The advice and wisdom here is not regularly taught in the Dojo, or on the mats. This is life experience, learned from practice, experience, observation, analysis and maturity. Thank you for sharing your wisdom.

Once again Prof. David James is on point. His dissection of the scenario is unparalleled. Not only does this man provide expert commentary (40 years in martial arts) on various videos showcasing real world scenarios but a break down of right & wrong solutions which may save YOUR life. You KNOW that this man is for real, just look at the INTENSITY in his voice and actions! He wants everyone out there to have this lifesaving info. Gotta truly love and appreciate Prof. James' and the Vee Arnis crew helping spread the word far & wide.
On another note: Happy Fathers Day to all you dads out there. You are truly Blessed.

Sir, my Second Justji/Karate instructor was like you, He was a very humble Korean gentleman, who knew his shit with no airs about him. They were simple tactics, put together to form a cohesive everyday fighting system. I've been looking for another club to join like yours for years, he retired. However, unsuccessfully, as this type of training is mainly banned these days in Canada, together with many of the moves, which I would say are the most effective. It's, Sports Martial Arts only, teaching self Defense is at the club's risk. The last club I went out to see if I wanted to join was 3yrs ago now, I killed, with a training knife, the "Masters" top protege, in less than 2 sec's and He didn't even see it, and wouldn't believe I'd done it, cutting his throat, Face to face, he would have been dead in 6 sec's. This is on top of him being told in advance, what I was going to do!, and that I had the short 3-inch training knife. Waving my hands around asking him questions until he took his eye off of me and looked at the empty hand, he couldn't see the knife in my other hand. Even The Master was shocked! He'd been busy that night teaching sophisticated moves, Locks and pressure points by demonstration.
I went out because he told me, He practiced, what you teach! When in reality he was only demonstrating highly technical useless stuff and the promise of an open practice simulating street fights dissolved. Thank you for what you are doing this is Martial art, people have forgotten the meaning of the word Martial, Warlike, the training of people for War. This would fly in the Face of, his part words, I'm going to teach you how to fight another Master and never hurt each other? I'm 70 now and too far away, I'd sign up tomorrow, Thank you for your time, practical Martial arts again.

I have seen on the net people say to avoid a fight if possible. The way you described and demonstrated being in fight situation makes perfect sense because you I've heard you should never underestimate an opponent. Some people who can fight will let you know that you shouldn't go there. Some people have the appearance of having fighting skills.I believe that good fighters usually don't fight unless really necessary.Of course ego comes into conflicts but I have seen people hurt and people that have little mercy for their opponents, especially when intoxicated or effected by drugs.I have very little training, only what I've taught myself.I once was threatened for three days by a guy who had just come of jail.I tried to tell him there was nothing in what he was angry with me about and I'm reasonably sure I even apologised that the situation had pissed him off and that it wasn't my intention.Anyway and I'm not putting tickets on myself,on the 3rd night I had to walk passed his room because it was raining.I was going to get my washing. When I just passed his room he came out, slowly followed me.I then decided this guy is not going to leave me alone,so I approached him slowly, with my hands up ready to defend and truefully my plan was to defend a punch or kick and then palm strike in the face. This didn't happen because he kept backing away and his girlfriend seeing me approaching him screamed to him to come inside his room.He didn't come back outside again. This to me doesn't mean I'm a better fighter than him but as he was approaching me along the 1.5m wide path between a brick wall and railing I was just prepared to fight him because I felt I had. In conclusion I thought after even though I'm not a trained fighter I wanted to palm hit him so hard which could have thrown him into a brick wall and he could have although unlikely possibly die by hitting his head on the wall.Lastely so we never actually fought but in those few moments when I approached him to fight he saw what I was prepared to do if absolutely necessary. He left me alone after that but did threaten to kill me in my sleep.I didn't think he would do that but to me someone that sais something like that would have no qualms about walking behind you and attacking you unexpected.Thinking about this I consenqently left where I lived but in hindsight I wish I hadn't.I'm sorry for such a long message but what you said made alot of sense to me and seemed to fit into situations I've been in so I thought I would share this real life situation with you in return.I hope this message is of some benefit to you or perhaps people you are around you, thanks for your video.I look forward to watching more, bye.

Probably was better you left, better safe than sorry. It's not worth it to hang around. I wouldn't want to live close to someone that negative and hostile for no reason. It's always better to be in a peaceful environment if you have a choice.
Despite him being in jail and acting tough he was nothing but a coward. He didn't even try to fight and you beat him psychologically. And his girlfriend telling him to get away LOL You must have really scared him and beat him at his own game, good for you. I have also been in similar situations but I have training and experience so I have the confidence to defend myself if it's truly necessary. I don't like to fight and only do it if forced to.Bullies always pick those that are smaller or they perceive as weaker than themselves. You defeated that wanna be tough guy mentally and didn't have to make any physical contact. The will to fight is very very important and having a mind set of determination. Most idiots trying to prove they are the " alpha male " will back down from someone like that because they really aren't looking for a challenge they want a victim who will be easy prey. He got punked because he knew he was facing someone who would fight back and he obviously didn't want none of that. That was a sign you were dealing with a very immature and insecure man trying to prove something to himself and he failed. He should have been smart and stayed in the room with his girlfriend 😆
But he was an idiot so that's why he had to find out the hard way he picked a fight with the wrong guy that day.

Only effective body mechanics and self awareness. But also to add a person needs a level of physical conditioning and freedom of moving all limbs of the body with destructive power, speed, timing and balance. Most importantly having the fighting spirit and always being aware of your surroundings

Guys, listen to this man. He knows what he’s talking about. Training for multiple of silence, and weapon retention, requires you to lose in the gym if you want to win in real life. You gotta do it, you gotta get beat up. Multiple of silence is one of the hardest things to train, but the only way to train it, is to get jumped in the gym by three or more of your training partners. Weapon retention is hard to learn, you gotta get your weapon taken away from you, you got a suffer from weapons fixation, you got to learn how to use, their weapons fixation against them. Again, losing the gym so you don’t lose in the real world. Be safe.
