I'm heading to San Francisco this summer and I can't wait. Thank you for highlighting local shops and restaurants. That's always my favorite thing to do when traveling. Good job on catching the scenery.
As a San Franciscan! We are happy to have you! 😊😊😊 Don’t listen to the media, it’s so gorgeous and it is clean. Go to presidio tunnel tops, lands end and Golden Gate Park. Clean and beautiful! Just don’t leave any valuables in your car 😉
Thank you! Really looking forward to exploring San Francisco and the area. Heading down from Washington on Hwy 1 with a group on bikes. Trip of a lifetime is what we are being told.
Enjoy your day in San Francisco and please be safe, there a lot of beautiful places in San Francisco, I use to live there, in the outer sunset area, we moved to South San Francisco
Here’s some history that you may not know about the seals. Their was not any seals at pier 39 until we had our big earthquake in 1989. They use to be at what was called our Cliff House area out at our ocean beach. The marine biologist don’t have any explanation is to why they left & came to pier 39.
It doesn't take a Marine Biologist to figure it out---Seal Rocks at the Cliff House was at the edge of a very chilly ocean, the rocks were not easy to access, and the wind blew constantly. At Pier 39, the Seal (and Sea Lion) areas are in little protected inlets, get plenty of sun, and the tourists can purchase fish food to toss to the animals, who laze about on warm pilings and keep one another warm and get their pictures taken!
The best way to catch the cable car is to walk up to one of the streets that it passes and hop on there. Also, rent a bike(near Pier 39) and ride the waterfront and cross the Golden Gate Bridge and glide down the hill into Sausalito for lunch and browse the shops (Listen to Otis Redding's Sittin' on the Dock of Bay, he wrote it here on a houseboat). Then catch a ferry boat back to SF fisherman's wharf waterfront. Lovely day in the city by the bay.
As a native San Franciscan I do enjoy watching people from other countries experiencing the city. It's especially nice to see a positive video where we're not being clowned on incessantly. If you're ever here again you should try another SF food staple, cioppino. Sotto Mare on North Beach is by far the best place that does cioppino. Not as popular as clam chowder but I'd say so much more flavorful.
To get to Sausalito would be to take the ferry over. I do every time I am in "The City". We call it that here in Sacramento, CA just 90 miles away. Always a nice day away. Love Pier 39 and the seals. FYI - there used to be actual sail boats moored on that pier but one summer the seals took it over landing by landing and now they have it year 'round. They come and go as they please. Another FYI - that fort that the Golden Gate straddles is from the Civil War era and was used to protect the city for many years. It's worth a couple of hours to walk around. Ghiradelli Square is within walking distance from Pier 39 and full of shops as well. The America's Cup sailing race has been held in SF a few times so the waterfront in general is all built up from hosting that race. I used to live just north of SF in San Rafael and loved it. Also another item for that bucket list is to got to the Golden Gate Park. Lots to see there as well. An Arboretum, Gardens, Zoo, etc. So glad you liked it there.
Nice video! You covered quite a bit in two days. Some things to see on your next trip: Chinatown, the Mission District, Alcatraz, Golden Gate Park, North Beach (the Italian district), Muir Woods, The Palace of Fine Arts, Musée Mécanique (a museum full of antique arcade games), Coit Tower, The Castro District, The Filbert Steps, Coit Tower, City Lights Bookstore, museums (the De Young, the Palace of the Legion of Honor, the Asian Art Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, The Exploratorium, the Walt Disney Family Museum, and many more). If you have time, you can take a side-trip or two to wine country, not too far north of San Francisco. And, of course, Sausalito. BTW, the best Chinese restaurants in San Francisco aren't in Chinatown. They're in the Richmond District, on the north side of the city.
I’m here for Chloe. Sausaltio is down the hill from the lookout on the Marin side of the bridge, would have taken you another 20-30min to make it to downtown depending on how fast you’re walking. Tourists normally take the ferry back to SF from downtown Sausalito, very nice 25min ferry ride drops you at the ferry building. I live in old town Sausalito and can confirm it’s beautiful.
The actual house they used for the front shot of the Full House home is actually down the street about a mile from the painted ladies. Fun fact: Jeff Franklin, the producer of Full House, purchased it in 2016 and sold it in 2020. Everyone is so hyper focused on the painted ladies, they don’t even know where the true house for the front of home shots were filmed. I grew up in Marin. If you ever come back, go into Marin County, north over the Golden Gate. Most beautiful place ever… Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, Sausalito, Mount Tam, Tiburon, Marin French Cheese, Stafford Lake, Marin Headlands, Bodega Bay, and the list goes on. Sometimes tourists of San Francisco don’t explore out of the city.
Thanks for sharing your amazing experience of your tour of San Francisco with us. I love your video and your presentation. By the way, did you see the Ghirardelli square with all the stores and shopping Malls? Its not far from Pear 39.😊 I have a plan to visit San Francisco again before the end of this year. ❤
Hi, thanks for sharing, nice video, and of course I will go by myself to San Francisco in few months, just a question, what is the name the hotel. ?? Thanks
youre so exuberant and excited in all your videos, now I've added San Francisco to my bucket list, what was the hotel you stayed? can you do a video on that? Love the work, great job!
Tourist is SF: “I want to walk across the Golden Gate Bride: Local in SF: “I hate walking across the bridge, you’ll never get me up there” 😂 Oh and also, technically Lombard is not even the crookedest street in San Francisco, that would be Vermont Street, it gets no tourist though.
What a great 48 hour layover 🥂 The weather looked really nice, and so many landmarks to add to my bucket list. The seals were amazing ... I've now got this image of 50 or so Ludvig clones en-masse 😂 Hope his wrists have healed 🤗 Am looking forward to your next video 🍸🥂🥃🍷🍹
Thank you for watching!! The weather wouldn’t have been better! San Fran is definitely a beautiful destination - I’ll have to bring Ludvig back to see the seals haha. His hands are all healed thanks for asking 🤓🤓
@@chloeandludvig did you experience a lot of homeless and sketchiness only in downtown or in the other places as well? Were there any areas where you felt unsafe?
@@chloeandludvig why go if you thought it was an actual possibility ? stop feeding the insanity. San Francisco's Crime Rate First of all, how dangerous in San Francisco? Looking at crime rates can help answer that. Important aspects of SF crime: Violent crimes are concentrated in limited areas, mostly not near the tourist areas. Crimes most likely to affect tourists are the car break-ins (somewhat preventable). San Francisco is not particularly dangerous when compared with other cities, especially U.S ones. Of course, being a city, San Francisco's crime rate is going to be worse than what you'll find in suburban or rural areas, but it's sort of low to intermediate when compared with other U.S. cities. And the crime rate in San Francisco varies tremendously by neighborhood, as you would also expect.

Bridge Day, West Virginia, October 21, 2023.
Ooh what's this?!
Did any of the locals tell you that’s not the most crooked street in SF? So it couldn’t possibly be the most in the world…
I have to say, i prefer your solo videos more. Just sayin.
Thank you Kimberlee! Luckily there are loads of solo vids to come ;)

I did actually yes😞
@@chloeandludvig did you experience a lot of homeless and sketchiness only in downtown or in the other places as well? Were there any areas where you felt unsafe?
It's an iconic city alright; but more than a bit over-hyped from the looks of it. Tea, scones ... and a ride on the cable cars.
Not over-hyped, it's a beautiful, fun city! She barely did anything compared to what there is to do there! Maybe next time!
Congrats on not getting mugged.
I’m surprised I wasn’t actually - I accidentally stayed in Tenderloin…
