The fact you found so many cacti on the beach shows the seas there are relatively calm, cacti would not grow on the beach if they were subjected to salt spray or rogue waves..
This is nature at its best. Wish I had them growing in my garden. That would be heaven on earth. Some I've never even seen before. Great video. Thanks for sharing 😎👍👍
I will need some time to answer your request (and maybe consult some expert). But most of the plants shown are Copiapoa, Neochilenea, Eriosyce and Thelocephala. The plants that look like rocks are probably Copiapoa cinerea ssp columna-alba.
This is wonderful footage. Can you identify some of these plants for all of us noobs? I think that a few look familiar, but I'm not sure about many others. Wow, they look like rocks! Were those Gymnocalycium? Are those blooming clumps of Parodia? Can you please add information about the names to the video description? Thanks
Thanks, nice to herar you liked the vid. No ideas about a book, i am not an expert on these plants. As a kind of rule we never take seeds or other material. We like to leave it as it is. So that makes life easy, we never have to think about taken something with us.
All cacti are Cites I/II species with only a few (cultivar( exceptions. But if you are there i would enjoy them and keep that picture. It is so much better to see them in nature. You do not want to destroy that picture
You need to protect the where abouts of the cacti. Don’t publish where they are. The collectors of other nations are poaching or stealing thousands of desirable plants world wide. Protect nature protect what is there rather than on some rich Chinese table top. Contact Cactus and Succulent Society of America. They have a bad story about poaching in South Africa. I love seeing them in nature. Thanks for the video. But keep the GPS locations hidden or soon there will be no plants growing there.
@@Cactusinformation yes thank for not poaching these, some where gems! But there's something to be said for collecting material like seeds and samples to help further resesrch as well as help protect these plants! There was obvious genetic diversity there, disturbing that would obviously be bad but helping preserve those genes seems a good idea to me

Hi Karen, you are right. I do not share locations. I rather love to see them in nature for all to enjoy instead of being in a greenhouse.
Don't steal cacti from their lands.
Of course! Nothing better than to see plants in their natural environment
