Excellent tutorial! I love your method with the intentional direction of taking stitches. I’m new to EPP and so glad I found your video. Thanks so much for sharing.
I find it easier to take my stitches from the layer underneath the folded over side, into the mitered fold, as if I was basting a hem. I tried your method, and it just seems to push that lower layer out from under it.🤷♀️ Wonder clips are a great way to hold the folded edges tight, till stitched!!
I am new to this and just have to say I am so grateful to learn your super easy method. I don’t have the patience for the traditional method. Thanks to Diary of a quilter who linked your Henie pin cushion. SO glad I found you!
You don't remove the papers until you have all sides of the hexagon attached to another paper-filled piece. Then all you do is snip the basting threads of the one hexagon fully attached to others, pull the basting thread out, and then flex the hexagon enough that you can get an edge to pop out. Use a stiletto, or pin tip, to leverage it out and it'll just pop out enough that you can grab the paper and remove it. Easy peasy with thread basting. Now if you glue baste, you'll have to use a tool such as a stiletto to loosen the fabric off the paper all the way around, and then do the same thing, once loosened.

Thanks for sharing your basting techniques. It makes sense to do it this way. I will try it in the future.
This has helped a lot just in time for a project I am learning.

Love the great detail in your explanation. Look forward to more videos for more shapes. 💕

Oh thank you so much!!
Awesome job! This was very helpful and I'm looking forward to making these soon.
Would you be kind to give a video how do you saw them together (in the modern way). Thanks!
I know this is super late, but the pattern is for sale on her website. It's really pretty! modernhandcraft.com/2013/11/hexagon-mini-quilt-tutorial/
Do you take the paper piece out? Is that difficult?
I've always used a glue pen, to paper piece, do you think that would be ok for this project? Thank you!
what is the name of the mini charm pack you use for all these pretty solids?
Now.....how do you remove the paper??

In the video it says there is a link for a template. Where is the link?
