When I was 16 I had a summer job as a gardener in a graveyard. It was peaceful. My grandad was buried there. At lunchtime I'd sit at his grave and have a wee chat with him. Let him know I miss him and that. It was therapeutic. It is weird, but I get what you mean mate.
Should try that in Glasgow, we call it the Subcrawl. The subway just goes round in a circle so you just end up were you started. Around 18 stops, buy an all day ticket for about £4, get off at each stop, have a drink, then onto the next.
Done it a few times with the boys over the years, each pay £10 to buy someone else an outfit from a charity, then we pick names from a hat and whoever’s name you get has to wear the outfit you bought an so on an so forth, then we head to the 1st station and the madness ensues🤣🍺

American pubs are not as friendly as Canada is ..Canada bit more alike Uk and Scotland . Check the Marksman in leith in Edinburgh, Scotland . But going by prices pints guys had , theyr far too expensive ..cheap in UK by far in comparison .
Really liked the editing of this with the tube doors separating each area. There's an old horror film I love called Angel Heart that did similar with industrial fans and it reminds me of that a bit. Been to a few places in the States but never done New York- you've made it look a lot more interesting and less mental than I expected. You'd probably survive a Glasgow sub crawl after this 🤣

I love going through graveyards mate just not at nighttime. When I visit the home country I love taking a stroll through the old graveyards in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Give it a go combined with having a few pints. I find it very relaxing 😮.

The Guinness looked terrible in every bar but, what can you do. I lived in Queens and would love to have seen you in Sunnyside and Woodside, having a few beers. Expensive enough over there. You have to come to Dublin and have a few real pints of Guinness. By the way Smithwicks is pronounced Smithicks, silent W. Enjoyed that.
@@jayd1974 I stayed in Astoria as well. It is within walking distance of Sunnyside. Queens Boulevard is the main thoroughfare running through Sunnyside. Road either side of an elevated Train track, sitting in the middle. Sidetracks was the main bar. Another bar, called Fitzgerald’s was close by.
Think you need to do the Glasgow Subcrawl mate. 15 stops (plus a 2nd drink in the first pub at the end to 'close the circle'), and some right hanging pubs along the way. Just don't wear green.

Amigo, you have to drink what the locals drink. Chasing Irish / British pub culture in American bar and grills doesn't work! Locally-brewed lagers and ales, or industrial lagers, is what sells in those kinds of bars. Or rum and cokes lol. Even in actual Irish pubs in the States, the beer had to cross an ocean to get there. Yuck. It was still fun to watch the cultural exchange!

Whenever I visit a large city, I usually go for a walk in the graveyard. Apart from the old gravestones and mausoleums being really interesting, the graveyard offers peace and quiet and a bit of greenery for a bit. Plus, a lot of folks are superstitions and freaked out by graveyards, so they're usually pretty empty.
The last Guinness had a nice dome on it so i guessed that it would be good. The areas you walked through though looked grim .I have not been to NYC since 1980 but i remember it looking better than that .I was just in downtown Manhattan though .I will not be going back anytime soon though as i had a look at Hotel prices on one of the booking sites .

yea, it's bad. in the 70s thru 90s most Irish bars were run and owned by actual Irish. Now most have closed down as NYC becomes less white.

Amigo, you have to drink what the locals drink. Chasing Irish / British pub culture in American bar and grills doesn't work! Locally-brewed lagers and ales, or industrial lagers, is what sells in those kinds of bars. Or rum and cokes lol. Even in actual Irish pubs in the States, the beer had to cross an ocean to get there. Yuck. It was still fun to watch the cultural exchange!

When indoors ,I'd ditch the sunglasses . Makes you look very dodgy and downright weird. Much better when you got the normal specs on. Great video . I also love those long US bars with all the sports screens. I always end up talking to the person next to me .

Whenever I visit a large city, I usually go for a walk in the graveyard. Apart from the old gravestones and mausoleums being really interesting, the graveyard offers peace and quiet and a bit of greenery for a bit. Plus, a lot of folks are superstitions and freaked out by graveyards, so they're usually pretty empty.

The last Guinness had a nice dome on it so i guessed that it would be good. The areas you walked through though looked grim .I have not been to NYC since 1980 but i remember it looking better than that .I was just in downtown Manhattan though .I will not be going back anytime soon though as i had a look at Hotel prices on one of the booking sites .

Great vid...but there are some soulless expensive holes in Brooklyn, the allegedly cheaper side of the bridge.Maybe next visit hit Queens or the Bronx for a more exciting beer.

Theres a sense of calm and acceptence that were all gonna die, and when we see the graves it gives us a slap of reality and to focus on enjoying the moments while we can. nobody is getting out alive!!!
