hey coach tom, i did a similar drill to focus on the technique of their touch instead of the line. i created a square where players played a straight pass across who lays it back to the same player whose next pass is a diagonal instead and the pattern repeats. to make it less confusing, i had the players start off the activity with their hands first to make sure they understand the pattern and simply to go the next adjacent line after their pass.

Like this drill it does cover some great points that I have found are lacking on u14 players. Great drill
I really it great drill especially when you progress to two balls,
great drill w 8 players...2 balls...everyone is always moving
