FACTS. Apparently Grimdog doesn't understand the actual meaning of the song. IT'S KUZE'S THEME. The message is, "HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TEACH YOU THIS LESSON, YOUNG BLOOD??"
Doesn't stop this fight from potentially being the absolute easiest time you fight him. And I would say Kiryu learned more about his final ways from others than Kuze more.
It's cause he's the muscle of the three, he's cunning and kinda an asshole, but that's more of a yakuza thing. Instead of holding a sunflower orphan hostage at gunpoint, he goes all out man to man personally, and i love it. I wouldn't even think twice about buying a sequel where he undergoes something similar to majima.
I wanted so bad to play as Kuze. I grew up boxing and I loved how they made Kuze in the game, seeing how his character is a retired boxer. A lot of his movements are legit and I'm sure they had a pro boxer or MMA fighter do his mo cap.
I don't know, I gained some respect for him when he stood up a bit for Tachibana during the torture sequence and the final fight with Kiryu. He's resilient but he was basically always at the advantage at every fight. - He made you go through a gauntlet to get to him the first time. - Second time, he hit you with a pipe while on a motorbike at full speed then used the pipe to fight. - Third time, he was using techno-brass knuckles plus an army of dudes. I'd have more respect if he was honorable and fair but he was always starting the fight with the odds completely against you.
The build up to this song is so fucking good. And the way it syncs with the cutscenes and Kuzes title card. Hmmm so good. Kuzes fight in the sewer has to be one of the best fights in the whole series. Everything about it is so good. Yakuza at its very best.
My favourite is the one that starts with Kiryu punching him in the face after seeing Tachibana possibly dead, then you and your bro are brawling with him and his thugs in this dirty torture pit.
If you're an old man in this series and are still not afraid of facing down a guy that would become a frigging monster, you've got the balls of a titan. Kuze, on the other hand, has the balls of a fucking leviathan.
honeslly Kuze probably didn't even realise it himself, but he might have had the most giant immense fuck-all huge balls of anyone in the whole series because of how he just went against Kiryu repeatedly cause he just didn't wanna _back down_ (it's not the yakuza way, after all)
One thing I've come to love and understand is Kuze's dawning realization of why Kazama wanted to hold Kiryu back at the end, knowing full well that he had the power to overwhelm the entire Yakuza, Kuze himself not realizing this until he himself lost to him 5 times in a row, and the irony that Kiryu himself has the power he was given because of those three lieutenants own actions, a weapon of their own destruction carved out of their own flaws, sharpened and perfected from their own arrogance, how they themselves helped release the essence of a dragon, created from what mounted as little more that an innocent puppy, lying helplessly, begging on the floor. They themselves created everything Kiryu was destined to become due to his nature One thing I'd like to point out, is can you see how Kiryu is strangely the opposite of ALL THREE of the lieutenants PUT TOGETHER? He is the single being that can become a Ying to all three of their Yangs at once ... Awano wore flashy clothes, was greedy, cunning, and mercilessly extorted people in utmost cruelty. Kiryu wore shabby clothes, but was selfless, if a little naive, and mercifully helped any possible person who was in need. Kuze, arrogant, wanted fame and prestige, being known as the toughest of all, Kiryu was humble, and never passed any opportunity to bow in reverance as a nobody (I mean, look at the opening). Shibuzawa was cold and calculating, solitary, menacing, wanted nothing more than absolute power over everyone and everything. But Kiryu, he was open, warm hearted, never had excessive wit, (to the point he was a little clumsy at times), seeked out the help of others, and was fully content on being nothing more than a low level dog in the eyes of everyone else, not caring about anything, more money, fame, or power, never even challenging anyone to conquer selfishly, not wanting a single thing more than the privilege of wearing the Tojo clan pin on his chest as a servant of cruel and arrogant men who mistreated him, because that's what loyalty to Kazama meant (I mean, again, just look at when he delivers the money to the debt collector at the start) Can you see how all the above leads to the utmost irony that Kiryu effectively owes a third of the strength he gained from the start of the game to the finish to each of the three lieutenants? Like a dragon, gaining, or consuming something from each of his opponents after destroying them before the end, even if by force? This story, the plot and themes behind it were unparalleled in every way. The symbolism in the story is so unique and incredible, the writers clearly intended all of this, and it shines like a diamond in the sun, mere moments after the carefully placed cloud of mystery dissipates and moves away from it's gaze so it can shine in the light.

So what, you beat Kuze 5 times in this game. You think he's weak? Nah, Kuze is definitely the strongest boss in the entire series. Sure gameplay wise he's relatively "easy", but in terms of the story, Kuze stands above the others. For one, the guy just didn't stay down. No matter how many times you made him eat dirt, embarrass himself, or bleed, he kept coming back. He didn't let a loss stop him. His determination to kick your ass was just a man's pride, not even for the sake of the clan. He just wanted to be the one to beat you down. And he was always ready to fight... this fucker is easily the most resilient, determined, hardass boss in the franchise. Kuze is the definition of a Yakuza.
Yup is a damn boss... but of course thats gonna change once Yakuza Kiwami..because man if you think Kuze is stubborn (and damn right he is) just wait to see how many times Goro Majima fights Kazuma...and its more than 5..

As I recall, the age of Daisaku Kuze is never revealed in Yakuza 0, but given the fact that he is based, & interpreted by Hitoshi Ozawa, his age should be 53 years old at that time(1988), so he should be 78 years old in Yakuza 6(2016) & currently he should be around 80 years old or so(2018); A badass old man indeed! 😎👍
Man. I wish Kuze was a secret boss fight in 6. Kiryu goes to some retirement home to talk to an old Yakuza captain, runs into Kuze in a wheelchair and blanket, the buildup to the theme starts, and Kuze rips off his blanket to show that he's still RIPPED AS HELL. Kuze: Did you think this was over? Think again! KIRYUUUUU! Kiryu: Bring it on! KUZEEEEE! "Former Dojima Family Lieutenant - Daisaku Kuze"

Made me learn to fight legit I can’t beat anyone but like kuze I don’t stay down Which also led me to get internal bleeding I guess eating food in the middle of a fight doesn’t always recover your hp 😫
R Ashlock This shit is what got him used to punching tigers (both figurative and literal ones), lions (#Kiwami2), and even a dann shark (at least on the intro cutscene).
In yakuza 0's trailer on psn there was this song whith Kuze in background saying something like "In the yakuza game its not the strongest who wins but who can endure it to the end", i always liked to think of that statement as a love tribute to YAKUZA WESTERNERS FANS, then that shit hyped me hard. Very hard.
Yakuza 0 really took it seriously when Kuze said "Yakuza game is not like a boxing game. The one who got KO'ed are not the loser. The one who can't tough it out is the loser." That statement by him really describe his tenacity in this game. This old man refuses to lose
Been wanting to play the Yakuza series for awhile then I finally got 0. The wait was so worth it and Kuze's fights were so fucking good. Can't wait for the Remake of Yakuza 1 and Yakuza 6 to relaase and I hope to play 2 to 5 at some point! :D
yeah better to wait for the remake, the first 2 games on the yakuza on ps2, to me they were fun enough and thats how i got into the yakuza series but whem starting at yakuza 0, probably better to wait for the remake then
This song and fight gave me goosebumps. Kuze is a pretty kickass antagonist, deserves the respect he has even if you hate him in the beginning. God this game is a masterpiece
Kuze taught Kiryu how to be strong and to never give up. Awano taught Kiryu how to be humble and good and Shibusawa taught Kiryu what it meant to be a dragon, a legend.
Kuze is without a doubt my favorite character in this fucking game. This guy has the perfect face. voice and attitude of what a badass is supposed to be. I was glad I could punch him the first time, but the more battles i had against him, the more respect I felt for this soldier. Hitoshi Ozawa did a fenomenal job with Kuze to make him the most memorable character of this entire game while he is not even the main character.
Every single substory is meant to be some sort of life lesson. They often put the life lesson in parenthesis after each one. It's not too surprising to find them in the main story as well
@Sick Pencil To be fair Japan's society is still really oppressed, you can't stand out as a person. It's why their anime and videogames has such wackiness to it, all those repressed feelings can only be dispersed through creations. I'm not really cut out to be explaining this subject, so here's a link. ruclips.net/video/893L3Vd86Pg/видео.html
I was literally waiting for every fight to see their chemistry change each time. I think Kuze is one of the best characters in series. Wish he could be at least in Yakuza Online
I just love that Kuze was written so well for his role. He was all about fighting for the top, using any means that he could accomplish without relying on the others too much for help. He was a closer, basically, the guy you send in to end a problem. And he was damn good at it. And his respect for Kiryu grew every time as well. He did not shy away from using his men, as he believed Kiryu an opponent worth taking seriously.
not just battling demons in the depths of hell, but battling them for eternity with "UNWAVERING, UNYIELDING RAGE AND CONVICTION". this is how you know them hands are up at all times. Cause the "hands-on" experience just begun.
Zeras light I think it's fitting cause towards the end of the game he reveals that he wants to test kiryu's resolve. which why he kept coming back to fight. everyone can say what they want about him, but you gotta give him credit he's the living embodiment of pride and fighting spirit. those fights to me is what drove kiryu to become a dragon. Thanks to Kuze, kiryu got stronger and learnt what it meant to be a real yazuka. You could say he was training him this whole time lol.
What makes this game so great and unique is these boss fights, sure you fought the same guy a few times throughout the story along with others, but Yakuza 0 handles them in the best way, i think music is a great way to solidify a boss fight into a memorable one. The way the rock riff kicks in as you start the fight just makes you get sucked right in and you are motivated to finish it and destroy whatever stands in your way. Kuze's especially were my favorite due to the music within that fight the first 3 times, even the last battle you have with him felt great with the music they gave you.
it really means older brother but in Yakuza terminology the term is given to the senior (lieutenants and others of similar rank) rather than saying "senpai" , so not really sir but it can be seen the same way.
dam this soundtrack is too powerful too good to be true , these kind of soundtracks are very rare to find, Yakuza 0 , since its has amazing soundtrack im sure the game is awesome as well and as good as these insane soundtracks i need to get this game now .
What if the next game is a spin-off of Kuze's story from when he was a pro boxer and had street brawls, until he joined the yakuza? That would be fucking awesome. Kuze no aniki 4 lyfe.
My two favorite antagonists throughout the entire series were Kuze and Ryuji. Both molded Kiryu into what he is now. Kuze by constantly pushing him, and By defeating Ryuji, it solidified his Dragon persona.
I only recently got into the series when my wife got me 0 on a whim, then my twitch stream followers got me the others. Played 1 and 2... Goro got me hooked. Then this game... that building... the urinal... and fucking Kuze.. I knew I was ready for the rest of the series. Good job on the vid, man.
it makes no sense at first how Kiryu still has forearms, but then you remember that he's Kiryu, and then you start wondering how Kuze still has arms, but then you remember he's Kuze, then you start wondering why the pipe didn't break
Kuzes actor was just so good. Most Japanese I hear in games it's always a thousand syllables spoken all loudly. But kuze is just so calm and calculated man. He was a great villain.
THIS IS IN MY BUCKET LIST WHEN I EXIST! I'M THINKING OF HAVING MY OWN JAM-ROOM IN MY MANSION AND I WANT SOMEONE TO TEACH ME THE ELEC GUITAR NOTES AND HOW TO PLAY THESE NOTES!!
The way I see it, all 3 Lieutenants of Dojima have their own quality in fighting: - Kuze has an outstanding durability. He fell quite hard from his bike and, later on, got hit by a speeding car, yet not only he was still standing, he still kicked ass. - Awano has an incredible strength as seen during his fight against Majima like how he cracked the thick wall with his fist. He also seemed to be more buffed than two other lieutenants. - Shibusawa's fighting skill is really brilliant that even Kiryu actually had some troubles facing him. It's alsl clear that, like Kiryu, he had other fighting stances like Rush and Beast (and probably Brawler, I kinda forgot) while two other lieutenants have only one or two stances.
Nizamuddin Arriyadhi I like to imagine Shibusawa’s final style was an evolved Brawler much like Kiryu’s Dragon/Legend style felt like a more refined Brawler.
Kuze and Awano both were old school Yakuza and people with rules. Kuze wasn't a bad guy but unfortunately he was serving under the true bad guy Dojima. The reason Kuze fights with Kiryu so many times is because he knew Kiryu didn't want to be a Yakuza but Kuze saw a true Yakuza with honor, honesty and ethics in Kiryu. Reason why Kiryu addresses Kuze as aniki during the last fight. I loved how Awano gave his life so that the legendary Majima san lived and faught another day. True old school Yakuza. Awano was right when he said to the asshole lao gui "Two guys here talking about some serious shit, outsider like you stay the hell outa it!". Wish Majima san killed lao gui. Hated that guy. Knew Dojima's days were numbered when a Yakuza like him went out and hired a chinese hitman to do his dirty job. The Yakuza series is one of the best series ever made! Awesome job by Sega
Kuze is truly my favourite villain in the entire series. His epic quote about true Yakuza keeps ringing in my ears, telling not to give up no matter how many and how hard you had fallen.

Can you see how all the above leads to the utmost irony that Kiryu effectively owes a third of the strength he gained from the start of the game to the finish to each of the three lieutenants? Like a dragon, gaining, or consuming something from each of his opponents after destroying them before the end, even if by force?

Made me learn to fight legit I can’t beat anyone but like kuze I don’t stay down
Which also led me to get internal bleeding I guess eating food in the middle of a fight doesn’t always recover your hp 😫

Chad this is your cousin and I'm sorry to hear that you've been fighting

“How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man?”
It's easy for me to believe Kiryu can block a steel pipe with his limbs. He's just THAT kind of a man.
R Ashlock This shit is what got him used to punching tigers (both figurative and literal ones), lions (#Kiwami2), and even a dann shark (at least on the intro cutscene).
He did so while Kuze was riding a bike too. I'm surprised he has forearms left.
@@QuickQuips I'm more surprised Kuze had any metal pipe left
@@eternalbrogamer I'm surprised the rebound didn't break Kuze's arm.
*drinks a staminaman*
For anyone curious it's track 38 on the full OST but it doesn't come with the intro that this one has.
Me: "Alright old man, apparently I'm going to have to teach you some respe-"
**Wakes up in a hospital**
Me: "Did I win?"

The one who can't tough it out is the loser."
That statement by him really describe his tenacity in this game.
yeah better to wait for the remake, the first 2 games on the yakuza on ps2, to me they were fun enough and thats how i got into the yakuza series but whem starting at yakuza 0, probably better to wait for the remake then
6 has Takashi Kitano in it that enough win me over again lol this game is seriously one of the best games I ever played
You got your wish my friend
the best ost in the game imo.
Some close seconds though, you've got to admit!
The English opening theme is a particular standout
@@mcbill7352 I liked the Japanese opening better, though. At least when matched with the video.
It's between this and Kiryu's Dragon of Dojima theme.
With Reign its the best
The amount of hard emotional amps within 1:09 to 1:30 alone is indescribable.
lot of people commentating on the track but man this video is well done
good job
It's in game footage, only problem is bgm is too small for us to hear in game like this
@@zzy8811 It's in-game footage, but the syncing to the track was well done. =)
This song and fight gave me goosebumps. Kuze is a pretty kickass antagonist, deserves the respect he has even if you hate him in the beginning.
God this game is a masterpiece
Thanks Pat for introducing me to the Yakuza series with 4! 0 was amazing.
Man this song is hype.
Young Techno Gandalf yakuza 5 LP when
Kuze taking off his sunglasses.
Shit's going down, bruh.
Kiryu: How many times are you gonna run? I've fought you 17 different times
Kuze: I feel like it's gonna be at least 18
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS
This track and Two Dragons are the best !!!!!!!
Best fight in the game.
小沢仁志さんって多分日本人で1番海外人気の高い俳優よね
如くの影響で
日本のコンテンツで1番海外人気高いの圧倒的にアニメかゲームだからね
"As long as a man has his pride, he can die with a smile on his face."
Can't believe SEGA taught me the lesson society failed to
It doesn't matter how many times you get beat down you owe it to yourself to get back up. That is what this boss fight alone has taught me
Every single substory is meant to be some sort of life lesson. They often put the life lesson in parenthesis after each one. It's not too surprising to find them in the main story as well
@Sick Pencil well said
Wish more people understand that
@Sick Pencil To be fair Japan's society is still really oppressed, you can't stand out as a person. It's why their anime and videogames has such wackiness to it, all those repressed feelings can only be dispersed through creations. I'm not really cut out to be explaining this subject, so here's a link.

I was literally waiting for every fight to see their chemistry change each time. I think Kuze is one of the best characters in series. Wish he could be at least in Yakuza Online
クソかっこいい
I've got addicted listening to Kuze's and Shibusawa's theme back to back over and over
I just love that Kuze was written so well for his role.
Kuze's body tells a hell of a story.
Facts
so good that you turn it up all the way, thinking it can't get louder, but then at 1:32 it gets louder and you're all the more happy
Jesus Christ ive been looking for this for a long ass time
This song just captures the feeling of battling a demon in the depths of hell
not just battling demons in the depths of hell, but battling them for eternity with "UNWAVERING, UNYIELDING RAGE AND CONVICTION". this is how you know them hands are up at all times. Cause the "hands-on" experience just begun.
Kuze is such a well written Character. But maybe just maybe Kiryu fights him to often :D
Yes that's true. He was Kiryus master
I can confirm that this track can raise your testosterone levels by 300%.
this is the theme song of "you will see me more than once in this lifetime and you'll regret every occasion"
kuze's my favorite
How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man!?
海外でも久瀬の兄貴は人気だなぁ
What makes this game so great and unique is these boss fights, sure you fought the same guy a few times throughout the story along with others, but Yakuza 0 handles them in the best way, i think music is a great way to solidify a boss fight into a memorable one. The way the rock riff kicks in as you start the fight just makes you get sucked right in and you are motivated to finish it and destroy whatever stands in your way. Kuze's especially were my favorite due to the music within that fight the first 3 times, even the last battle you have with him felt great with the music they gave you.
HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO TEACH YOU THIS LESSON, OLD MAN?!
Wished I had a boss like Kuze! Someone to actually respect.
Kiryu: sees crazy old yakuza coming at him on a motorcycle with a pipe
Also Kiryu: squares the fuck up
The best Yakuza game so far, by far.
kuze aniki..
Nani?
kuze aniki means kuze sir
it really means older brother but in Yakuza terminology the term is given to the senior (lieutenants and others of similar rank) rather than saying "senpai" , so not really sir but it can be seen the same way.
Shiniiiiii, Kiryu-chan!
Kuze NO aniki *
ShinE *
Guys, seriously...
Shibusawa fights for legacy, Awano fights for lifestyle, and Kuze just wants to fuck you up
Kuze is straight up Yakuza
dam this soundtrack is too powerful too good to be true , these kind of soundtracks are very rare to find, Yakuza 0 , since its has amazing soundtrack im sure the game is awesome as well and as good as these insane soundtracks i need to get this game now .
Well its been 3 years did u like it?
@@芋圆呀呀 like it ? it was the reason that made me to get all the Yakuza games that is out so far lol .
Is your wife good looking?
LOL 😂
One of the most epic boss fights i have ever played in my life
one of the best boss fight ever
I listen to this every day
10 months later

Every fight that has the music build up to the fight title card is a glorious.
it makes no sense at first how Kiryu still has forearms, but then you remember that he's Kiryu, and then you start wondering how Kuze still has arms, but then you remember he's Kuze, then you start wondering why the pipe didn't break
When you're losing in a fight and you're getting smacked around left & right but you've got too much heart for your own good to ever give up lol
True Yakuza
i love this theme so much
Kuzes actor was just so good. Most Japanese I hear in games it's always a thousand syllables spoken all loudly. But kuze is just so calm and calculated man. He was a great villain.
The way this track merges with the scene flow is killer. Kuze's words are kick in the balls moreover.
THIS IS IN MY BUCKET LIST WHEN I EXIST!
I'M THINKING OF HAVING MY OWN JAM-ROOM IN MY MANSION AND I WANT SOMEONE TO TEACH ME THE ELEC GUITAR NOTES AND HOW TO PLAY THESE NOTES!!
The sync with the title card....hooooly shit
Everytime Kiryu blocks that pipe and the song picks up, I get goosebumps. Crazy good theme.
Whenever the song started playing and his nameplate comes up before you fight him, I get so many chills. This guy is fucking awesome.
The way I see it, all 3 Lieutenants of Dojima have their own quality in fighting:
- Kuze has an outstanding durability.
Shibusawa's final style is actually Dragon.
最初のムービーのとこの音楽抽出できたなぁ!
The legend of Cyclin' Kuze
Kuze is truly my favourite villain in the entire series. His epic quote about true Yakuza keeps ringing in my ears, telling not to give up no matter how many and how hard you had fallen.
Real talk, this track, and this video, convinced me to buy this.
This is so fucking BADASS!!!!!
This is my game of the year ! Fucking love the Yakuza games !! The remake of Yakuza 1 and Yakuza 6 next , oh happy days ! =)
my heart cant take this shit anymore, this is so fucking badass
