You know what Blows my mind? .... the fact that Simon and shpongle in general have such few likes and comments. . And yet, IMO ... this is some of the most beautiful and creative music I have ever heard ... in fact, id say the Most beautiful and creative......
Yep. It's Genius is what it is. With Shpongle he created a new type of music. There where a lot of artists on the Psy world that started making music like this. And they were good I think. But Simon was the originator and always kept evolving his sound. Genius is not to strong a word I think to describe him.

first time listening to Shpongle Are you Shpongled, about 20 years ago, I thought this was a whole new genre of music by itself, which I liked to term Trangle, obviously combining Trance and Jungle. Shpongle is one of the best, if not the. Generally, everything that comes out of Simon Posford's head and hands is just masterpiece after masterpiece - including of course Hallucinogen and Younger Brother. Thanks for all your contribution to electronic music
this set is awsome.. i miss Raja , and Simon.. when are we gonna hear some more Younger Brothers, "Psychic Gibbon" haved a great influence on my musical journey.. The Last Days Of Gravity And Are You Shpongled , was the reason why i began to make music..
I saw Simon do a live DJ set some years back at some little club in Santa Monica, CA. I wanna say this was 2004 maybe. I was working there at the time and I just happened to see something about him appearing that same day. It was probably in the LA Weekly or another local free paper or it could have been that I heard it on KCRW that morning on MBE) . I was a big fan of Shpongle and his other work (still am) and was so stoked to see that he was doing a show locally. I'm pretty sure it was billed as "Simon Postford" and not Shpongle or Hallucinogen. I can't remember the name of the club, but It was a very intimate setting and I was dancing along with a lot of other people right in front of the stage (I don't think it was possible to be more than 30' away given the size of the venue). I had such an amazing time. I wasn't sure exactly what I was in for given that I'd never heard him perform under his actual name , but I was not at all disappointed. The set blew me a away and I was dancing and moving and jumping along with all these other people for most of the set except for taking a few breaks to drink some water. I wasn't under the influence of any good drugs (I had a few cocktails at the bar before the show began) but I felt like I did when I used to attend desert rave parties outside of LA in the late 90s/early 00s and we had real good e back then (that's what we called in in my heyday, not molly like the kids today). It must've been around 2 hours of almost non-stop dancing and clearly remember being soaked in sweat. It felt so good to walk down the street to my friends car after the show because it was a cool night and it was the perfect temperature after being so hot I didn't care that I was soaked through with sweat, mine and probably various other peoples our bodies were packed tighter and tighter as the show had progressed on that small dance floor. I don't think my buddy was super happy about me sitting on the nice leather seats of his new Lexus, lol. But he was a bro and got a towel and a Gatorade out of his trunk, one for me to sit on and the other to replenish my most assured deficient balance of electrolytes. I was definitely among the top live music experiences of my life. This is a big MAHALO going out to you for that evening and for your entire body of work that has meant so much to me. If you are ever coming out to Oahu, Hawaii I could hook up a venue for you at the Old Sugar Mill in Waialua on the north shore. I might even be able to get a place for you to stay for a week right in the beach free of charge. No joke. DM me if you are interested.
I said it before and I'll say it again, Simon Posford is a modern day Merlin! Are you Shpongled? And Tales of the Inexpressible were albums that altered the course of my entire life. I'm listening to these tracks again with new appreciation and all the insight I've gained (both in music and life) over the years since they were released. All the albums are just so good, I can't pick a favorite.
The only psy I can digest. Mad respect and appreciation for him and his music. Once like 10 years ago I was fortunate to see him play a live hallucinogen set and a Shpongle set the next day at Eclipse festival in Montreal. 🎉
❤❤❤ I’m following this guy for so many years and for me this is simple : he is to electro what MOZART is to classical music : the BEST of all. Please Simon : make us some new albums that will be listened for centuries ! ❤❤❤
Ha, yeah that's been the story since he hit us in the 90s. Check out his original uptempo project, Hallucinogen, if you want to go deep in. The guy is a genre unto himself.
Watching this just makes me realise how time has passed .I used to hang around with Simon in his early days of Twisted records in Chelsea London in 1994ish some great parties .It was the birth of something we could never imagine Along with the other Simon in the office,James, Dom ,George,Gus,Jack, Dickster,Boing, Tristan Juju ,Cris Dekker,Yas ,Lol,Crisbo,Grantly,Sam,Charlie,Mark Allen, Chris Blue My brother and many others that I mean no disrespect by not mentioning ❤️🙏❤️🙏.
If all politicians took large doses of psychoactive hallucinogens & listened to this, we would watch every conflict on earth cease to exist & society would evolve into a harmonious utopia faster than you could dropship a fortune cookie
That's presuming everyone reacts to psychedelics the same way, which we don't. Since so many in politics already are unhinged psychopaths and narcissists, I doubt taking psychedelics would change the way they perceive the world at all.
@@nj1255 This, unfortunately. Most of them would probably just have a terrible time and reject anything they could have learned from the experience. Narcissists don't tend to handle ego death well at all.

There's a reason you don't find many old heads making this statement, unless theyre just idiots. That statement is a very understandable leap to make early on, but after some amount of experience you have to stop, take inventory of more then just your own personal experiences, and sonder a bit. Much love to any and all underneath this video!!!!!!!!!
