    That setup you have is awesome, definitely outside of the box thinking. I was glad to see that you used those Atoll brackets. I saw those on a RUclips promo video about a year ago, but I couldn't find them anywhere. After watching your video, I searched for them again. Amazon and the online camera stores finally have them! And for anyone else seeing this, if you have lens compatibility issues with the DSLR version, it looks like a new model is coming out in April that may solve that, according to the Amazon Q&A section of the product. 3 of my lenses probably won't work with the current model, so I'm waiting.

    John thank you for the great video. I have not done a single panorama yet, but I am not new to deep sky astrophotography. I am still trying to understand how you move/rotate camera between the panels/shots. With GTi do you reset it back and level and then rotate the camera. Once you start shooting, your declanation bracket should not move, so I would think you need just to rotate camera to move to the next panel. Thank you for your response.

    John, what would be the difference if the camera you use for RGB imaging, wouldn’t be Ha modified, but with the default sensor? I’m wondering if you anyway capture the Ha narrowband with the other camera using the astronomic filter, wouldn’t that provide enough Ha data itself?
    Cheers,
    Peter

    • @johnrutterphotography
      @johnrutterphotography  Год назад +1

      @@johnrutterphotography thanks so much for your replay! Let me have an other question: how does the different resolution of your two cameras affect the the post process workflow. If I’m correct, you use the high MP A7R II for RGB, and the rather low MP A7S for the Ha narrowband. How do you deal with the different resolution files that come from the different cameras? Cheers!

    That's a great set up John. I'm leaning towards a Star Adventurer GTI as well. Using a single a73 & a 40mm art lens. Just curious - what specific move & shoot sequence worked best for you using this mount?

    • @johnrutterphotography
      @johnrutterphotography  10 месяцев назад +1

      While using the gti I still put a ballhead and pano head on it as I would my standard star adventurer, so you can do any sequence you wish. The order in which I shoot totally depends on what I'm shooting and in what direction.

Just as impressive as the final result is your ability to maintain your focus for the entire shoot. I have no idea how you don't miss a beat for the entire night.

I am considering getting one to add to my kit but I can't find out to much about them, I can see the basic specifications but that is all.
