I heard Vanagloria and Bbaycat are made by the same perfumer and are very similar. I wanted to save my money on YSL and I tried Vanagloria first . It has this off putting note of something that smells like moldy wet wood mixed with vanillla, makes it musty. I went on a whim to the Ysl shop to see what Babycat smells like and I fell in love. The incense note is smooth and has a metallic like quality and the vanilla comes in the drydown, is a very cookie like vanilla, sweet but subtle, like vanillated sugar. I purchased it. It seems to me to be much more refined than Vanagloria. Did you try Babycat?
Ok you sold me! Its going on my list. Sounds amazing!!!!! Btw have you ever tried any perfumes from Histoires de Parfums? I love the 1725 perfume. (Also known as Casanova.) Its lavender, almond, vanilla, star anise, amber, etc. Its so beaitiful and the quality is obvious. It was one where i liked it on initial spray but then when it dried down I couldnt stop sniffing it!! So good!! I also love their Marquis De Sade 1775, even though its really geared for men. Its a soft sweet leather like perfume. Its says leather, warm spicy, herbal and sweet. It has leather, immortelle, french labdanum, elemi resin, patchouli, cardamom and woods and vanilla. Its beautiful as well!!! My 3rd love from this brand is Ambre 114. Such a gorgeous spicy amber!! Notes of amber, vanilla, benzoin, tonka, musk, as well as spices and woods among other things. And this is a prefume that 1 single spray will fill up an entire room!!! I couldnt believe the potency!! Very impressive! Anyway ignore my descriptions if you've already tried them! Lol. And I'd love to know your thoughts if you have. But if you havent I highly recommend! 😊 Thanks again for the recommendation!! 👌🏼
This really sounds like the perfect vanilla fragrance for you! Why, oh why did one bad day with Tobacco Vanille change the way I see vanilla 😂, but the smoky and dark kind is something that I really enjoy. I have actually ordered some decants by this house as Jean-Claude Ellena did some fragrances for them in 2020 (or 2019) and the fanboy in me just wanted to know what he’s up to these days. The mandarin one is really nice 🥰! Thanks so much for this video and have a wonderful day!
@@Kellergirl I think o wore too much of it and it was just not made for me. As an ex-smoker I have a difficult time time with tobacco (well, at least I realised that day that I don’t really enjoy tobacco in fragrances). So I felt very poorly that day, had to sit down because my own scent choked me out, didn’t have a chance to wash it off - I actually tried it - and I remember that I had a salad for lunch that weirdly tasted like TV or TV didn’t go well with the salad, which made everything worse 😂. And ever since that day I don’t seek vanilla or tobacco in fragrances. I know that a lot of people enjoy and love this fragrance and I wonder how I’d feel about it if it hadn’t been for that day. It was at the very beginning of my passion for fragrances and I’ve learned my lesson, not to overspray fragrances that I don’t know.
I have been hearing about this! Dominique Ropion! Have you smelled Encens Suave? Is it anything like that one? That one has an extremely clear note of pure frankincense with some vanilla type notes to soften it- just like the name.
omg have you seen the new Jo Malone Zara releases? - Leather Jardin, Incense Sunset, Ancestral Papyrus and Universal Oud???? I'm dying to try them! It'll probably have to be a blind buy though since my local Zara never carries them. Would love to get your thoughts since you're usually the first Arlene! Just in time for the autumn!
Ive had it but haven't really worn it because, I'm waiting for lil cooler weather (I live in fl) but it's equal parts sweet vanilla&spicey ,myrrh incense to me .It kinda makes me think what xerjoff ivory route used to be.Its replaced IR for me because I got a new bottle of IV and it seemed alot weaker than used to be to me .Anyway this fragrance is excellent quality and last FOREVER so dont overspray and I don't get any pineapple either.
I've tried tons of samples from this brand this month. They have some really good ones. I especially enjoyed Baliflora and the new ones from JC Ellena (Mandarino and Limone). ❤
This sounds really interesting, but I'm a bit concerned about ordering samples from Italy. Been waiting on a perfume being shipped from France to here in the U.S. for weeks now.
I got a small decant of Vanagloria two days ago, and I cannot stop wearing it. Thank you for introducing this perfume to me!

Sounds very intriguing. Especially the incense!

What happened with TV that changed the way you see vanilla?

My favorite from this house is Baliflora and Vanhera. Would love to try this one out.

They say it is similar to YSL Babycat, what do you think?
Interestinggg! How does it compare to other vanila fragrances?

Heya! I tested the Mandarino and looooooved it too! I hope to try Baliflora and Vanhera next 😊
@@DeliciousDelights Tonkade is a good one to try too 😉
Ooh, this is intriguing! I don't think it'd be something I'd wear, but I'd like to at least smell it!
What about longevity and sillage?
Sounds so good
Good day do you have any recommendations of perfumes that smell like cherrys ?
Is the incense similar to the one in tonkade? Is the incense smoky or more churchy? (I love tonkade).
Do you know where they sell this perfume?
Where I live it's at Babassu in the Netherlands 😊

Oh no!! Fingers crossed it arrives soon! 🤞
Found it far too smokey. Smelled like an ashtray on my skin.
