Authors deserve so much credit. Think about the amount of time they spend on one book, let alone a whole series. This daughter gave his writing so much hope and encouragement. It’s so wonderful to see all that work pay off. ❤😊
I didn't realize how much work went into a book. I've been on mine for 10 years and finally started amping up my grammar for the final stretch. I started sprucing it up 2 years ago. Every time I think I nailed my grammar, I realized I'm nowhere near perfection. Another woman I know has been working on hers since she was 12. It is a lot when you have family and work.
My old manager at cvs was in school to be a nurse.. he was like 35. I asked “what did you just start?” And he said “I’ve been going to a semester here or there when I can afford it.. I have to take care of my mom too”.. and he worked the 10-6am shift every night.. men who are determined will never stop.
I went to college for over 10 years while working full time. Kids, grandkids, elderly parents. Paid as I went graduated with a Bachelors degree at 57. It was hard and many times I wanted to give up by I finished. My family was amazing and I am proud of myself. I hope others can follow their dreams.
35 isn't even remotely late to start a new career.. Hell, it is never too late to start a new career. If people think otherwise and judge, it's their problem not yours.
As an artist, I appreciate the people that made this possible by buying his book so much. Success is borderline subjective as a artist no matter the medium, but having something succeed in society that you truly worked on with everything you have… I don’t think there are many feelings that will top this one for him. He’s lucky to be able to experience that I am happy for him. He deserves it 100%. I hope you guys know, this will be something he not only remembers but thinks about way more than daily and has become a very concrete and important part of his identity as a human. Life is interesting.
This was awesome, I’m so thankful the world still has amazing people in it who would help someone accomplish their dream after working for 14 years straight on it. This gives me hope for the future!
I've been working on a book to it's like a series of short stories with a philosopher traveling through the apocalypse experiencing a variety of moral situations and trying to learn to find either a balance of the old world morality or descend into total chaos. This. If you want your book to sell, you HAVE to market it properly. A lot of indie authors nowadays don't realize this either and are left scratching their heads, wondering why they only managed to sell a few copies.

The beautiful thing to me is had he not spent his time on working and raising his daughter the book would have possibly not been a success so there's a beautiful silver lining to the fact that he couldn't just pursue his book and didn't abandon responsibilities.
Exactly. Everything happens for a reason. He did the right thing and it’s paying off for him. And the book actually looks like a great read so well deserved to him
Goes to show how everything takes time. Not only did he take time to write it. But it was published for a while for them to realize that nobody was actually buying it at all. And just off social media. #1 🙌🏻
Sometimes it’s just about getting enough people reading it for it to catch on. How many amazing books and authors are out there that just never got enough readers to be truly discovered? Glad he got found!
That’s what I call commitment. Even though he knew he wouldn’t have that many sales (let alone a few), he was still committed to finishing the book to get it published. It doesn’t matter if not a lot of people buy it, but what truly matters, is that you are proud with the final result.
