I’m thrilled to finally fly Polaris this year. Intl business fares are stupid cheap lately, I’ve noticed. I’ve started suggesting my clients consider business, especially if they are already interested in premium economy. The experience is well worth the price difference. And thanks for the reminder to choose an odd window seat.
I have definitely found a lot more deals lately, but it’s starting to get harder now! But yes it’s always worth it if you can find a good deal or use points - especially on an overnight flight!
Other Polaris reviewers liked the seating as well. No one raves about the food, but they found it adequate, though they weren't impressed with everything on one tray and having to unwrap some items. It looks like United has a product that meets at least basic expectations.
Excellent videography, editing and music! I have yet to fly United, but I like the look of their Polaris class. I always travel with my own noise-cancelling headphones - they are almost always better than the ones provided by the airline. De-wrinkling spray? Never seen that before in the loo! Cool!
Hey Jeff, love the video. Looking forward to the upcoming Swiss video. I recently flew Swiss in biz class from Zürich to Montréal, it was an enjoyable culinary experience in the air. Now, to answer your question about why some seats have the shoulder strap: it has to do with the angle of the seat itself. For example, Air Canada's 787 & A330 aircraft use the same biz class seats, however only the A330 requires the shoulder strap. This is because the angle of the seat is slightly more acute.
Great video Jeff! Please keep them coming. I'd love to see loads more transatlantic Business flights (American Flagship Business, Aer Lingus A321LR, Iberia, Virgin Atlantic and BA Club Suites, to name but a few). Thanks for making such good videos!
Thank you!! This month I’m booked to fly all in business KLM, Lufthansa, United again and Swiss. The others you mentioned are all on my wish list as well, especially Virgin and Iberia!
I thought the shoulder belt requirement was for rear-facing seat passengers, but your plane had all forward-facing seats, right? I was interested by your reference to the poor cleaning on board, which you illustrated. I have seen similar complaints on other RUclips channels. You'd think that United would be humiliated enough by these revelations to do something about cleaning. There are definitely people who would choose another airline over something like that.
Funny enough United had some rear facing seats with their old business class but they weren’t angled and did not have shoulder straps. The cleaning seams to be an issue amongst many airlines, they certainly aren’t doing additional cleaning as they advertised.
It might be because business class seats don't have the seat in front to absorb impact? Not that any of it matters when a plane hits the ground at 700 MPH.
They cut back on menus for “safety” but I always show it when they do - not even a QR code menu like some restaurants we’re doing. I’m flying Polaris again this month so I’ll be sure to give you more details on the food.
Wow… the breakfast served in UA Polaris is just … speechless. Like even a freeway rest stop Burger King joint would’ve done a better job. And Gordon Ramsey would’ve fainted upon seeing this being offered as in “premium” Polaris class.
The new suites are very nice when available! Personally I still like the Polaris setup a bit better, but I'll have to do a proper Delta One Suite review at some point soon!
Funny enough I had it again coming home from London, this time they called it a "hamburger Wellington" and featured a very well done burger with raw pastry underneath. If you see me on board I'll be happy to share mine next time!
Awesome job Jeff ! From a fellow avgeek creator, this was really fun to watch 👍🏻 Definitely don't think United Polaris is gonna be high on my list compared to other airlines I've yet to try. I only just recently flew Emirates for the first time using Skywards miles and their first class was definitely something to remember 😅 If you're interested I recently posted a video on my channel sharing my experiences and I'd love to hear your thoughts if you have a moment? ruclips.net/video/w9BzLe7RYo0/видео.html

Hey Husband! Loved watching this video. Take me back to Zurich soon?!
Yes please, we were supposed to be there today! 😂 😤 😭

Yes the food needs some improvement still but it used to be pretty good before 2020 so 🤞

Thank you so much!! Yes the headphones are super important, mine must be at least 5 years old but still work great.

I look forward to seeing that wish list become reality! 🙂
Would love to see a flight from Newark to Venice , Italy if you go that way
How about Newark to Rome? Coming very soon!
Can I keep the pillow and blanket?
You’re not supposed to 😂 however they do sell them online if you’d like to purchase a set.

😆 yes very good points!
I wish you had spelled out what you ate -- or, better, shown the menu.

@@HDjeff thanks so much. Safe travels!
@@CraigFarangBa same to you & I appreciate the feedback, thank you!
United is the best US airline, go United!!!

Yes the breakfast is awful, it’s always been pretty bad. I skip it more often than not. I would rather have McDonald’s after I get off the plane. 😆
I think delta got the best business class

It is no longer swissair. Swiss International
Swiss International Air Lines 😛
I have a freak fetish for the "Beef Wellington" i have no clue why but id have two.

Oh wow! This really does not look half as good as Emirates Business Class! The food...... yuk!
Dubai is a bit out of the way, that wouldn’t make sense! 😂 Also there are no middle seats like on many EK flights.
@@HDjeff I actually travelled on United Polaris in the meantime and have to say I was really disappointed! :(
