It’s a game changer for sure! You may also want to consider a United Club subscription as well (either club card or purchase for 1year at a time). Your whole family of 5 can get it on 1 subscription. Glad you liked the video! Subscribe and stay in touch!
Love hearing about United from the United guru! I usually fly United at least once per year. I’m in Group 2 as Premier Silver via Marriott Titanium so sad 😢. Great video Lani!
Don't feel bad United made their loyalty program garbage over the last two years with constant devaluations and this is coming from a 1k member who did 77 flights last year so I would say look elsewhere
Hey, Mike! I fly thru SFO often. It helps when you know how United prioritizes upgrades (i.e. cash, card holder, corp partner, tenure, etc.) Having a lot of this, I usually get pretty lucky
@ good tips thanks! Do you know how to look up if your company has a corporate partnership? I know Hyatt does with mine but I lucked into it with just putting in my work email into their status match. For UA I can’t find any list of partnering corps thru search at least
Good analysis. I now fly AA and Delta after 10+ years as a United Platinum and Gold (depending on the year). My reasons for changing were the better premium economy seats for members and United making it more difficult to get status through CC spend. Do you get a lot of upgrades (what percentage of flights)? I have found my upgrades to be far less over the past 6 months.
For me upgrades depend on how many people are traveling with me. If I'm solo, I get upgraded 90% of the time. But if I'm with my family, 3 upgrades may be harder, or I'll deny the upgrades if someone will not be able to sit next to my child. Thanks for the question and watching. Subscribe and stay in touch!
Hi Lani - I thought I remember seeing you got (or were going to get) the United Club Infinite card). Is that true (and if so are you going to have an upcoming video on it)?
As far as I can see you have to give other members of the pool the permission to redeem miles. And what ist the benefit to make an account for a child under two years? My daughter now is 10 month. Should I make an account for her?
If you are purchasing a seat for your child, then yes create an account. If you're going to do Child In Lap, then it doesn't matter. As for me, I would purchase a seat for my son depending on the length of the flight
When you made your United account for your child did you just use your email or did you make them their own email? I’ve been meaning to make my kids a United account 😅

Good breakdown for anyone using or interested in United
That's the goal! Gotta share the info!
As a family of 5, this mileage pooling is awesome! Thanks for the great vid.

Haha! Thanks!
Great video Lani, keep em coming!
Thank you! Will do!
Great breakdown. You're right. There are a lot of people in the pre-boarding line
Now that I am a professional United flyer (1 flight in 51 years) I will adjust to the changes. Thanks for the info Lani, good stuff as always!!!
Absolutely! Appreciate you stopping by
Nice updates.
Thanks for watching!
I wish they had added a few lounge passes to the quest card . Grrrr
That's the 1 thing I do not like about the quest card
When I want to know about United, this is where I land!!
What happens when the BILT guy and the United guy cross paths? To be continued..
From what i hear about SFo even the 1ks rarely get upgraded so I’m kinda following Sebbys strategy of working on AA and kinda sorta Delta

Hey Shane. Yup! Gonna talk about that in my next member only video and will have a full video on it coming soon for 2025

I created a Gmail for him and used that for his United account. I use an old phone so I could have access to his United app
