Halloweentown was a realm where monsters, witches and warlocks alike could live in harmony without threats and persecution. It was a place where magic was common, the weird was everywhere and every day was a bit spooky and at the center of it all was the mayor of the town Kalabar. Now he may have seemed at first to just be a goofy, magic loving and flirtatious warlock, but the truth was he had an evil side. Kalabar was spreading a darkness that threatened both Halloweentown and the mortal realm that could only be stopped by the Cromwell witches, but how did this journey to darkness begin? Why did he become a villain?

What if the reason Kalibar didn’t want people to know about Kal and the reason he could never convince Gwen to get back together with him were the same reason, like if Gwen left him and moved to the human world where she met her husband because Kalibar cheated on her and his affair resulted in a baby who was Kal so he was ashamed of Kal’s existence because of what he did to the woman he was in love with.
That’s a good reason why! It would be amazing to see both Kal senior and junior together to once again try to defeat the Cromwell’s 💯!
Or what if Sophie is Kalabar’s daughter as the result of an affair between him and Gwen one Halloween.

Cause maybe he did cheat on their moms with another woman that didn’t mean anything to Kalabar before she even had children. But I couldn’t see the mom and Kalabar having another intimate night and she came back pregnant with Sophia. If that was the case? Then the mom would’ve went to Halloweentown after she felt her husband wasn’t showing her love nor attention tryna find Kalabar and that happened while Marnie and her lil brother was basically alittle more younger than they are in the movie. Sophia I feel was more in tune with magic and spirits of beings way better than Marnie and their brother. The first Halloweentown proved that when she saw Benny again different and Marnie and the brother didn’t know

It weird when I was little I could not handle Kalabar's other form because it scared me, but now all I see is a getto scarecrow. Now if I could handle what happens in kalabar's Revenge where Gwen gets turned into the creepy looking creature through the creature spell, it's like when she first gets transformed it freaks me out and scares me, but after that everything else that you see with her as that form found out last year don't bug me

Yeah it makes me sad that Disney Channel movies are basically dead. I would give anything to see a movie prequel with Gwen as a teenager in Halloweentown where she’s fascinated by the mortal world a lot and not by her own world which is Halloweentown . She watches TV shows that’s in the mortal world and maybe Aggie could see she’s not that much into magic. Tryna have her practice it and it doesn’t move her like her mother. Then there’s Kalabar, seemingly he seems like the one who isn’t a nerd? But he’s always has this dream of being the most powerful warlock. Him and Gwen are a high school couple but knew each other since kids. Aggie Cromwell didn’t look like he was the one for her since the day she first saw him. Gwen at times would ask him about what do he think about being “normal”? Kalabar thought she was strange for saying that. Saying “Why would you wanna be that? Gwen don’t you always like the gift you have and who and what you are? I know I do, I never wanna wish to be anything else than what I am. I love being a warlock!” Gwen said “I understand Kalabar, but there’s nothing wrong with things being normal. Halloweentown is my home but I always wanted something different. Im tired of being a witch, me wanting to learn magic and stuff is just not something I’m interested in. My mother was always into that stuff but not me. It’s in my blood and I don’t mind learning about spells? But it’s not the sum total of my life.” Kalabar seem a bit disappointed in Gwen and thought with him being a warlock and her being a witch was like the ultimate match. They have alittle argument and they break up for alittle while. Hurt and even more vulnerable Gwen told Aggie about it and Aggie says “Gwen dear, Kalabar seems like the type that’s about something different that you’re not. Even though I don’t like him I understand you felt deeply for him. Maybe this is a sign for you to find something new. If Kalabar comes back that means he was meant for you and he understands you’re opinion and work with it with you. If not? You just have to let it go and find someone better 😉!”
One day she always saw this bus stop that would take you to the mortal world. And one day she decides to get on it and she felt more like home and meeting her future husband there. Going back and forth she ditches school from Halloweentown to see him at his school. Aggie’s upset at her cause she’s been ditching school. When Kalabar heard around Halloweentown that Gwen been going to the mortal world he began getting suspicious. And one day he followed her and found out she been hanging with a mortal man which made him even more furious!
So Kalabar one day call Gwen up and ask to meet up. So they did and Kalabar wonder if she was seeing anyone and Gwen basically said no but Kalabar says “Don’t lie to me Gwen, you been with that mortal guy hanging with him.” Gwen admit and said “yeah I have, but nothing didn’t happened between us Kalabar. Remember you said we should break up cause I didn’t fit your world of being the most powerful warlock! Is that all you think about? What about getting out of high school? What about college? What about wanting a family?” Kalabar said “I want to have a family with you Gwen. I know I have this thing about being a powerful warlock? But without you I feel like I can’t be that, you really make me wanna be more in tune with it. Which is why I always wanna perfect it.” And he does this magic trick of the rose 🌹! Gwen said “Kalabar you do be romantic with your magic. Which is probably why I fell for you.” Kalabar said “I know 🙂…” Gwen said “I just need alittle more time to figure things out and what I want, I know we gotta finish this last year of high school.” Kalabar said “Okay…Gwen I never stopped loving you. Even if we part 😔.” Gwen said “You never know we might come back together. You’re a great guy Kalabar, I just want you to think more of just magic when it comes to me. I like to have more than just magic and Halloweentown. Think about it and I’ll see you soon.” Gave him a kiss on the cheek…
I know I just went through a draft of my own of what it would be like if it was a prequel of Gwen and a young Aggie Cromwell? But I feel thats how it should go down if they decide to make one 💯
Here's a question: Where did Kal come from? Who was Kalabar's wife?
Also, where did he hide the child?
@@BettyBonkers That was my third question to ask...I mean, in Halloweentown, Kalabar never said anything about a wife, so where did Kal jr. come from?
Brooke Kal may have been a result of a dalliance, she may have also been a wicked witch who indoctrinated him, and Kal was probably hidden in plain sight as there are many magical families in Halloween town and with some being members of the dominion she could have been a member and the child could have been raised among the upper crust of witches but we aren’t really shown much about other witches in Halloween town but the Cromwell so it could be that witches might live in their own separate part of the realm

I know! It's been out my entire life!
I always thought Kal was a more interesting villain than his father. We don't know the full details of their relationship and yet Kal seemed to share a lot of Kalabar's twisted ideals. Plus, he disappeared at the end of his movie, meaning he could be back at any point to challenge the Cromwells again. I always kept hoping to see him in another Halloweentown movie.
Kal's my fave halloweentown villain!
Sadly I wished they kept that content going with Kalabar! Disney Channel might’ve felt the second one was a bit dark! And they made Halloweentown High alittle more friendlier. Kal ain’t his father! If anything I felt Kalabar was more of the ruthless one! But Kal is more silentful evil and doesn’t talk much 💯

I loved Halloweentown as kid mainly Halloweentown 2 kalibar revenge and Halloweentown high
Goosebumps Gen Halloweentown High I felt shouldn’t have happened! Cause they pulled away from the whole Kalibar scenario! If they kept it going about fighting Kal Jr. as the third one and killed him?! I think it would’ve been a perfect ending of the trilogy

Lee Chavez in that case I guess my family is chock full of witches and warlocks. Both sides of my family have a heightened sense of spiritual awareness. My dad performs spiritual healing rituals and my mom would speak with a ghost in one of our old houses.

Calabar reminds me of Voldemort the wizard in Harry Potter, he thought that pure blood wizards were superior and Muggles were bad. Calabar has a similar goal, he’s prejudiced.

I always thought that her powers were the strongest of the three children. And she was definitely wiser, definitely taking after her grandmother.

This up coming Halloween can you pose a theory that Kalabar’s son might still be alive? Cause to this day it never felt like he was destroyed at the end of Halloween 2. Rather he ran away weakened by the light magic.

Humans at one time used to live in Halloween Town. I wish the movies had delved more into it instead of saying that humans went to earth and monsters remained in Halloween Town and the two could only interact on one day out of the year.
The Halloweentown movies are my favorites Issac. Kalabar was one evil tyrannical warlock, kudos to the Cromwells for destroying him. And about Cal, he got away at the end of Halloweentown 2: Kalabar's Revenge, Marnie and the gang should have captured and destroyed him when they had the chance. He's probably still out there and who knows what other evil plans he's got

One of my favourite moments was in the first movie when Marnie couldn't remember the spell so she said 'Better march, better get there, better get going before there's no more beds' It cracks me up each and every time.

St. Helens I have visited many times, and always fun to point out the landmarks during the movie, though never been there during halloween, when they put up the decorations and stuff from the movies.

No. They have different qualities & histories. Written by different people. As he said in the video, this one was created by living magical beings as their new home. They knew all about Earth & could freely visit each Halloween.

I wanna know exactly how old Gwen is. Agatha is well over 1000. We have no idea when she met Gwen's dad. Or when she had Gwen. Gwen could be 300 for all we know. She doesn't really age.

Talking about Kalabar "losing the love of his life" in this sappy romantic way is so gross. I think the language you were looking for is "Kalabar was always selfish and evil, as evidenced by the way he objectified Gwen, and took her rejection as an excuse to do terrible things."

Hayli Hill Here’s a crazy theory, Gwen used to date Kalibar what if something happened between them that resulted in Cal and when Gwen left Halloweentown she left Cal with Kalibar. Though it would be weird for Cal to be hitting on his sister, unless he didn’t know. It was just a crazy theory.

Great video, I have some other halloween town theorys for you first what happened to Kal in the second movie they said he be back but he never does so what happened did he dispear or were they planning on something for him but the idea got scarp, what happened? The is what happen to Luke he was the first two movies but he not in the other ones where what was he upto during those movies and why didn't he ever come back?
