I don't appreciate this fandom expecting Caitlyn to just get over the fact her mother was murdered though, even the show sort of tells Caitlyn get over it. Because there is a heavy favouritism from the fandom and the writers towards Jinx as she is arguably the show's best character. So alive or not, the story still ended with her being a mental wreck that thinks she dooms everyone around her.
@@Jyggalag I do think Jinx knows she has to go, since neither Vi nor the cities can really "heal" if she stays around. For Vi my guess is, as long as Jinx is around she couldn`t focus on her own healing and relationships, since she would always put Jinx`s wellbeing above her own. For the cities my guess is having Jinx around would be like a wedge still seperating them. The people of Piltover still would want her in prison, the people of Zaun would want her free. I am pretty sure the day will come for Jinx to come back to Vi, but for now she had to take the leap and leave everything behind, so everyone can build something new.
She is just so tired in Act 3. Even after she decides to help in the fight, you can see the exhaustion on her face. They did a painfully good job in writing her and voicing her.
Hard to put a bullet in someone who saved your life. For what it’s worth, I think Caitlyn does realise that Jinx was just another part in the tragedy. A victim and perpetrator both.
Jinx never had such problem before, she was demanding Vi to kill Catlyn Even knowing that Catlyn had saved her life and took pretty Bad when she refused. Also Jinx didn't saved Catlyn just fought people who was in her own way.
Jinx murdered multiple people, even her sister's look alike in episode 4 of Season 1. People act like she only killed one person, but her body count is far higher than that. She also committed a terrorist attack in season 1 aside from the one in the council that got people killed. As much as I like Jinx, people need to stop pretending she was more innocent than was. Even if Caitlyn no longer wanted to kill her, being responsible for killing and injuring so many people she would have to spent the rest of her life in jail anyway.
Even I myself would hesitate to kill my mother killer if I walk on her cell and see her like this. Already defeated, like a beat up puppy. Would be so conflicted just like Cait.
Jinx saying "she didn't know her mother was there." Everyone is like saying, that's not an apology. But the intent was to say, this wasn't some sort revenge towards Caitlyn killing her mother. Sure it wasn't an "I'm sorry." But you can tell in the way her voice sounds, that she was sorry about it. The tone in which people talk is also very important to pick up on, when they speak. I have heard a lot of empty words that hold no meaning, her words held alot of pain, which shows she has the self reflection to know the true pain she has caused on Cait

Ella Purnell as Jinx might actually be one of the most consistently perfect voice-acting performances I've ever heard. she won the Annie Award for best voice acting in 2021, and she'd warrant it again here,
0:58 Cait's acceptance of what her thirst for vengeance led her to and deciding to "break the cycle" herself is a huge moment here that I believe goes kinda overlooked in favor of Jinx's "apology" (wasn't really that) to her
The moment the mutual hatred between Caitlyn and Jinx died, and both found the strength to apologize and forgive each other, both realizing that they were two sides of the same coin.
Why would Caitlyn apologize? She did nothing wrong to Jinx, Jinx murdered her mother, her sister's look a like from season 1 episode 4, multiple people later in the same episode, council members, and more. She was a mass murderer, regardless of Caitlyn's feelings towards her, she would have gone to prison regardless. Caitlyn letting go of her hatred for the sake of herself and Vi, is not the same as forgiving Jinx. Also, Jinx did nothing to deserve forgiveness, she hasn't made amends for her many, MANY crimes, she did one decent thing and that's it as far as Caitlyn knows. Why do people expect her to just get over it, like she drank her milk or something. She killed her Mom dude, that's not the kind of thing that deserves forgiveness, even if you let go if the pain

Only after this conversation where Jinx and cait decide not to hate each other until the end do they get a decent outcome. If Cait ordered Jinx‘s execution, Vi never would’ve forgiven her that(cycle of violence) and Jinx wouldn’t help Ekko clutch the final fight. @@sheepenjoyer3007 Yeah but I don't think Cait 'forgave' her, she was just...tired of the cycle repeating. It's true that Jinx hasn't atoned for all the crimes she had committed. Cait most definitely still hates Jinx for killing Cassandra, but she became strong enough to protect her people than losing herself in madness.
I love the really dark parallel here to the light hearted Jinx and Ziggs comic where she refers to people as “blood filled buildings”. She wasn’t thinking about killing people when she fired at the council, she was firing at “The Council”. She didn’t think about them as people, just as part of the building and the system that caused so much pain. Idk if that makes sense, just resonated with me
i think this is how jinx views her crimes. she loves destruction, shes great at it, she doesnt seem to like KILLing people. most of the time she gets a solo kill, its in the midst of a psychotic breakdown.
The way I see it, even if Cait abdicated her post as general, the new council would've probably decreed it that Jinx be put to death. Cait MAY have been looking for an excuse to let her go, to literally and metaphorically let go of the hatred she felt for Jinx as well. As she was though, that would've been a wasted act.
I feel this was a scene where Jinx really started to look into her actions . Like when Vi ask her how many kids she orphaned and her response is “ Why not? Done it to myself”. But one thing is to brush it off and later really sink into it and realize you have destroyed a lot of families and people and the regret comes in . Like finally acknowledging it. So It Feels that it was not just about Caitlyn but everyone else. That’s how I interpreted it at least .
Agreed. Before this Jimx had felt guilt over a couple specific things, killing Silco and Mylo and Clagger, both of which were accidental and only hurt because they were people she personally cared about, she’d been shown to straight up enjoy killing other people, even after living with Isha making up with Vi she hadn’t really expressed any regrets over her crimes. This seems like the first time Jinx has really reflected on just how many people she’s hurt and killed and felt real remorse, good to see her finally getting it

such a great scene, especially on rewatch. they finally seem to understand each other. cait says "no amount of good deeds can undo our crimes." she's talking about her own mistakes as much as jinx's. battling her own frustration and guilt. when jinx says "do what you came here to do", it shows jinx not only understands the hurt she has inflicted, but accepts responsibility for it. she believes she deserves punishment and sees herself as a monster. they both are full of guilt and remorse. ironically, this seems to unlock cait's own soft heart. she's able to start letting go of her hatred and pain, both she sees jinx now for who she really is in this moment- a sad, broken girl. a product of a broken society, and because cait knows that hatred and rage will not bring any healing.
Cait wanted Jinx to be the super bad monster so bad so she can kill it without remorse and be "justofied and morally correct" feom her point of view and first she saved her life and then she's a depressed teenager who regrets everything she did. Cait seems angry because she can no longer only blame her and has no excuse to kill her, because that means she has to the admmit Jinx is not the only villan of the tale (not sure if that expression is used in English)
I think she's projecting hate, it's not real. Hatred and revenge can only take you so far, depending on how attached you are to your emotions and how much they guide your actions. We can see both of them extremely exhausted here. In this scene Cait is projecting her hatred because it has been her course of action for a whole year, it is what is expected of her, but she has always been rational, driven by facts and logic, so emotional burdens are not good fuel for courses of action for people like her. Jinx, on the other hand, had been taking actions based on the things she lost, the justified hatred on the top side because she lost everything to them. It worked well for her for a while because until then the causes of greatest loss for her came from the top side. For years she was accustomed to fighting back after fighting back, her actions based on the actions of others as the agent of chaos she represents. But now this loss [Isha] didn't come from anyone, there's nothing to fight back. That's why she feels empty. In this scene she is completely exposed, with no defenses, nothing. It's Jinx in its purest essence. It's where she's finally aware of what she's done and who she really is [but no perspective of future]. And that, for someone who spent years with a clouded mind, is pure hell. Both are exhausted. They both don't even have the strength to hate each other. This is where they decide to break the cycle.
@@mayaraqueiroz1849It's sick how people justify Jinx who is a sadistic mass murder with a genocidal Streak who just stoped because someone she cared about got dead. the comment section shows how important media literacy is like I swear some of yall watching the show with your eyes closed Lol! Literally I don't get why yall arguing about whether cait or jinx is better when they were made to be parallels and the whole theme of their story is the cycle of violence and learning to break the cycle. Season 1 ep 9's title "the monster you created" refers to both of them. Jinx is the monster Vi/piltover created, and Cait is the monster Jinx created. Cait also said at the end that none of them can erase their mistakes. Thankfully at the end here we see that both of them have learned to put down their hatred and "break the cycle". The way some of yall sound "ohh the enforcers killed jinx's parents so cait deserves to have her parents killed since she's an enforcer" etc. etc. literally missing the whole point of their story and thats why both jinx and cait are better than all you dumbasses who would only be the ones continuing this cycle if you were in universe lmao
It is because Topside is the prepetuator, it matters who started a conflict, a war, Zaunites become monsters due to Piltover's opression first, then they take it out on Piltover, Caitlyn and Jinx are nothing alike at all, It is like a narcissistic abusive person abusing someone else, a family member perhaps, over years, and only when after years of pain and trauma and domestic abuse, that victim lashes back at it's opressor, suddenly that same opressor acts aghast and shocked and self-righteous and conisders itself the victim and gaslights it's victim into oblivion, making them to appear as the monster, this is unfathomobly toxic and abusive and exploitive, and Caitlyn and Jinx's dynamic reminds people of this dynamic. I mean those who take Jinx's side, not those who take Caitlyn's obviously.
In this scene Caitlyn hates herself not because she feels guilty for not killing Jinx in ep 9 of s1, it's not like that, I feel there is a deeper meaning which is that Caitlyn hated herself for the bad things she did because of her hatred for Jinx. (I mean her hatred for Jinx made her do bad things and because she did those things she hated herself). So now she decided to let go of her anger and forgive Jinx. Not only for herself, but she also let go of her hatred for Jinx in favor of her love for Vi as well. And this scene showed us that there is no apology at all I don't know why some people say that Jinx apologized she didn't apologize but admitted her mistake and Cait did the same thing (neither of them apologized, and there was no need to. They admitted that they made mistakes and can't undo them, but the cycle of violence and hatred has to end) That's the meaning of this scene, at least for me
Jinx started feeling the guilt of killing Cait's mom the minute she saw her willing to help Vi to save Vander, in that very moment She realised how muck Cait cares for Vi and how she's willing to let go of her revenge for Vi's sake. Cait loves Vi more than she hates Jinx, and I love how they are both owning up to their mistakes in this scene. I really hope we'll get to see more of these characters in other spinoff shows, Ekko and Mel too, I don't know anything about League of legends but I'm hoping there are other storylines including all these characters

It breaks my heart seeing jinx like this. I thought she’d be vengeful but she actually became depressed and suicidal. She can’t catch a break. Off topic but the girl singing sounds like a mix of Billie Eilish and Melanie Martinez

Are you serious? Jinx had lost both her parents when she was like 5-6, then lost her family (brothers, Sister and father) again when she was 10-11, then she lost her father again in s1(Silco), i'm pretty sure Jinx knows better than anyone what it is like to loose something, Caitlyn can't even comprehend.

Small detail but notice how Cait brought Jinx decent food. I think better than what Vi had in prison. On the first season, Vi asked Cait if she knew what the prison food was like when they were in the market. I think it's kinda thoughtful that Cait is now making a little difference with Jinx knowing Vi had to go through shit before.

I don't appreciate this fandom expecting Caitlyn to just get over the fact her mother was murdered though, even the show sort of tells Caitlyn get over it. Because there is a heavy favouritism from the fandom and the writers towards Jinx as she is arguably the show's best character.
Still, I don't think people are holding her accountable, because for murdering multiple people, yeah you should go to jail, like wtf?

@@Jyggalag I do think Jinx knows she has to go, since neither Vi nor the cities can really "heal" if she stays around. For Vi my guess is, as long as Jinx is around she couldn`t focus on her own healing and relationships, since she would always put Jinx`s wellbeing above her own. For the cities my guess is having Jinx around would be like a wedge still seperating them. The people of Piltover still would want her in prison, the people of Zaun would want her free. Ella Purnell as Jinx might actually be one of the most consistently perfect voice-acting performances I've ever heard.
she won the Annie Award for best voice acting in 2021, and she'd warrant it again here,
0:58 Cait's acceptance of what her thirst for vengeance led her to and deciding to "break the cycle" herself is a huge moment here that I believe goes kinda overlooked in favor of Jinx's "apology" (wasn't really that) to her
This whole scene is amazing, but jinx clawing at her own hangnail makes me shiver. Its crazy how they perfectly portray that tic.

Cait also would’ve lost Zaun’s support in the final battle. Jinx was still a Icon for the Zaunites(last they know of her, she free‘d the imprisoned Zaunites during Caits regime), imagine your Hero gets killed by your oppressor.

I feel this was a scene where Jinx really started to look into her actions . Like when Vi ask her how many kids she orphaned and her response is “ Why not? Done it to myself”. Agreed. such a great scene, especially on rewatch. they finally seem to understand each other. cait says "no amount of good deeds can undo our crimes." she's talking about her own mistakes as much as jinx's. battling her own frustration and guilt. when jinx says "do what you came here to do", it shows jinx not only understands the hurt she has inflicted, but accepts responsibility for it. she believes she deserves punishment and sees herself as a monster. they both are full of guilt and remorse. ironically, this seems to unlock cait's own soft heart. she's able to start letting go of her hatred and pain, both she sees jinx now for who she really is in this moment- a sad, broken girl. a product of a broken society, and because cait knows that hatred and rage will not bring any healing.
these last 3 episodes Cait is really more gorgeous with the new look 😍😍😍😍😍😍
So?

@@Anansi1701 such a shame the fandom is so "fandom"ized because i know the show can be used in a films studies class for analysis
@@ksalfkdsg agreed. With every frame having care put into it, there's a plethora of studies that can be had from this work of art.
It is because Topside is the prepetuator, it matters who started a conflict, a war, Zaunites become monsters due to Piltover's opression first, then they take it out on Piltover, Caitlyn and Jinx are nothing alike at all,
It is like a narcissistic abusive person abusing someone else, a family member perhaps, over years, and only when after years of pain and trauma and domestic abuse, that victim lashes back at it's opressor, suddenly that same opressor acts aghast and shocked and self-righteous and conisders itself the victim and gaslights it's victim into oblivion, making them to appear as the monster, this is unfathomobly toxic and abusive and exploitive,
and Caitlyn and Jinx's dynamic reminds people of this dynamic.
They admitted that they made mistakes and can't undo them, but the cycle of violence and hatred has to end)
That's the meaning of this scene, at least for me
Jinx started feeling the guilt of killing Cait's mom the minute she saw her willing to help Vi to save Vander, in that very moment She realised how muck Cait cares for Vi and how she's willing to let go of her revenge for Vi's sake.

@@TinyGreyOwl It is an open ending. you can believe she survived or take the scene at face value and accept her death
@@BlastFromThePastTheGoodOldDays This show is very meticulous at every detail so I wouldn`t call that ending "open". But anyways, everybody believes at what they want.
@@TinyGreyOwl you are the one saying she is not dead, even though the episode suggests she is dead.
this universes jinx died, but people try and find hints and theories to suggest she didn't. so maybe it is an open ending, believe what you want---that is what an open ending is. no definitive answer one way or the other
It's interesting how Jinx is that character who divides opinions, just as she could just be labeled a murderer, we need to take into account the place where she lived, which was rotten in itself, the fact that she didn't even receive good things since she was young, counting on the death of Cat's mother and others, just as we see Cat as the one who is on the right and correct side when Pitolver has his rotten side, also a really well-written character, but I still defend her because her case is the same as a child never being exposed to love since she was little, doing stupid things and being considered a mistake.
Caitlyn can't act all Righteous . Know one has right Act righteous in arcane .
tbh fair apart from ekko
I don't think she acted self righteous, notice how she said "our crimes" instead of "your crimes" when talking about what happened?
This is why you lost the election. All these purity tests don't work in the real world. You just make it easy for evil to win.
She Isn't acting righteous is admiting her crimes but she has every reason as any other Piltover and several Zaunites of hate Jinx for all the crimes she has done and the pain she has caused.
@@xCoatlicuexso you are gonna act like Jinx isn't in pain too?🤔
Jinx is a villain?
Bruh, Jinx has always been a villian, have you not seen season 1? if yes then your stupid to not think she's a villian
Yes
@ why?
@@jeanmatos5601
She was a killer for Silco, implied to have killed entire families. She destroyed the council after she herself shot Silco, who definitely wanted to kill Vi and have Jinx kill her new friend and love interest.
@@jeanmatos5601she kills people, kidnaps, commits war crimes, forced her sister into choosing her or Cait. She isn't entirely evil but she's not entirely good either.
I though Jinx would have at least apologized.
1:07 THAT is her apology
@@until.davis. That didn't really sound like it to me but sure i guess. Sounds like she definitely acknowledged what she did though.
@@MsCathyParker the words “i’m sorry” don’t have to be said for it to be classed as an apology

This couldve been the perfect show but the final two episodes proved the writers were mortal.
OK?
Right, rest of the series is 11/10 while last two episodes are 7-8/10, still good, but not on par with the rest
Cait saying "I've hated myself..." And "no amount of good deeds can undo our crimes !" really shows how much she blames herself for what she did, all the pain she caused while she was trying to get her revenge. Now that she has Jinx in front of her, she decides to let her go and forgive her 🥰
the second i finished the first season, i remember thinking two main things:
1. caitlyn has every right to have revenge
2. but if there's anyone who could have the heart to forgive jinx, its caitlyn (insert caitlyn being an actual sweetheart to everyone in the first season like her hugging huck bro)

and this was the scene that got vi in the mood like wtf did they do to this masterpiece?
I think it's just that Vi sucks as a person, also their relationship is politically infused and that is a curse for writing, i knew from the start that Caitlyn and Vi's story is going to suck and not be on par with the rest of story, just for sole reason that it is Lgbt
@@Blaidd1298 100% agree
Did you actually watch the full scene?
@Blaidd1298 Exactly they only made that scene for the fan base we didn't have to see it or maybe do it at the end it just felt off jinx telling vi I'm gonna kill myself and vi 20 min later being horny like wtf
Vi was literally responding to the fact that Cait just told her that she literally ordered the guards away because she knew that Vi would go there to break Jinx out of her cell
Cait deliberately facilitated Jinx going free, based entirely off of the trust she has in Vi, that's a huge statement to someone who just got done saying she lost everyone.
Caitlin have no right to be above....
She is not, but she has every right to hate Jinx.

Last two episodes were trash makes episode 6 completely redundant
how were they trash moron
facts bro jinx's death is so fcking stupid
They weren’t trash
It's like they forgot the entire series before it. If you took Vi and Jinx out of the last two episodes it wouldn't even make a difference, and that's disappointing as fuck. They should have resolved the plot with Ambessa, as well as Vi, Jinx, and Vander/Warwick. Then had machine Jesus Viktor be a tease for the next show.
