Tks for your video about the clips removal and other info. Indeed, the spring was detached at one end .. the trick was to screw it back to the plastic piece. I used a rope to fish it out of the tube to be able to do that. A detail: I removed only the round end rod cap, not the flat, easy to do. Next was to put the right tension with the treaded rod and obtain the right shade length. That was a series of trial and error but finally got it right. Glad other did it quickly, it took me 1h30.

Took this into Toyota for my 2006 Sienna. Dealer’s repair was $300 plus labor. I skipped it and tried to tackle it myself...I’m not handy. Thanks to your video, I spent 45 min on this problem and it’s fixed. Many thanks my friend for the excellent video!!!!

Thanks you so much, I had the same issue, was able to fix it in about two hour. Only thing missing in your video was how to remove the locking pin, I tried it was alen key, but later was able to push it out with another pin. I also superglued spring to the head so that it does not come out again.

Thanks for the quality video. I just repaired my sunshade in about an hour thanks to your help!. The one thing I would add is that in order to remove the end cap (2:18) you'll need something small (I used a finishing nail) to tap this retaining pin out. Initially I thought it was a small allen screw but it's not.

This was awesome for me, thanks so much. I had exactly the same issue and your instructions worked perfectly. The biggest problem for me was the "firm tug" to separate the panel from the body. I managed to get the two cargo clips loose - and you are right it took popping the top off with two flat blade screwdrivers, which wasn't clear in your video, I could not pop it off with my fingers - but then the panel was so tightly bound to the body that I was worried I was going to break something pulling it off. I removed the glove compartment and cup holders as shown in your video and pulled hard and it all came lose at once. One clip mount (the plastic mount in the plastic panel that the blue clip mounts to) did break because the clip refused to pull out of the body, and the two clips at the forward end popped out of their mounts rather than pulling out of the body. They were easy to pull out and put back in their mounts which I fortunately did not break.
In my case the spring had simply unwound. It was still tightly bound to the brown plastic bushing that holds it in place. All I had to do was pull that brown plastic bushing away from where it seats itself in the cylinder that houses the shade and turn it several times in the correct direction (which took some experimentation) and seat it back. Because nothing was actually broken or separated I have a feeling this problem will happen again.
Thanks again for sharing your experience. I don't know that I would have been able to figure this out without your video.

Thanks! I wouldn't have figured out those clips without breaking them. :)
