Bill Alexander uses his wet-on-wet technique to create a beautiful river scene. Learn to use light and darkness to create a wonderful mood. You too can paint, we promise!
Its the healthiest water ever! . . . but sometimes you see a dead deer in there, or a crow . . . I shouldn't have told you that, forget it! That water is clear as it comes! hahaha . . . What a treasure this man is. He's just bursting with life, the light and the dark, and its all beautiful.
Thank you! I've been telling people for years there was a painter i used to watch before Bob Ross and nobody knew what i was talking about. Now i know i'm not crazy!
OG as in what? It sure as heck better not be 'Original God', because NEITHER of those two could come anywhere close to the dead (and living) masters of oil painting. Bill was way better than Bob.
@@atlantic_love I agree. I like Bill more as well. I meant it like the “original gangster” as in a figure of speech. I’m not saying that either of the two are the best oil painters ever known or that they stand up to the original ( or current) masters. But that Bill Alexander deserves more credit for his amazing personality and style that was handed down to bob.
I actually did get to meet him,as a matter of fact ,My Mother in law painted with him in the early 80's .We had a German shepherd puppy We couldn't keep and we gave it to Mr Alexander, I am sure he had a great home .😊😊😊
I have tinnitus and one of the things that I find gives me much relief is listening to Bill talk. Had forgotten how far beyond his successor (as happy as he was) that William Alexander was as an instructor. Could do more with less than anyone else I have watched.
The mighty white on the mighty canvas!🖌🖌🖌 My mom was always a good artist but Bill Alexander inspired her to get back to serious painting. She was always quoting him. " Alizarian crimson and Prussian blue"
Some of us can look at the sky and see shapes and all sorts of things in the clouds, bill had this talent to a great degree except he saw things in canvas and could allow others to see it when he painted, to me he will always be a great master his realism was unequal in the time frame he was allowed to paint a mere 28 mins.
Seeburgm I desagree, in this case the student surpasses the master, Bob was able to perfect the technique in such a way, that just with a few brushstrokes you could see the sky with clouds included. Bob Ross was way better.
Dave Steps, True Dave, but he did make tons of money selling his paints, brushes and instructional courses. Bob Ross inc. became a multi million dollar Enterprise.
... ВОСТОРГ , ВОСХИЩЕНИЕ , ИЗУМЛЕНИЕ ...Спасибо , Мастер..!!!

The OG of oil painting . WITHOUT Bill there’s no BOB Ross . Both are great to watch and learn from

I have watched this video so many times. I think it is one of Bill's best.
This is the first painting I have ever seen Bill do with no sky and it is excellent! Very beautiful!
Every time i watch bills videos it brings back my younger years and I'm ready to fire it in on the canvas
Bill was a great motivator. I would have a lousy day and he would scream fire it in! He would cheer me up. He will never be forgotten.
This man was an original.....I can listen to him for hours. He was a great person☺
bkljaydee .. I agree.. I actually can say with my hand over my heart that one of my regrets in life that was I never met him in person

I loved watching him when I was younger thanks for posting his wonderful shows :)

It’s painter man! I just love Bill Alexander!! When watching his student, I’m always hearing Mr Alexander saying “fire it in.”

Very impressive lesson. I also like the way he talks about things. So sad we cannot see more of his videos.
When life gets down I watch this genius 😁😁😁
Such a great artist. He made it look so easy.
"no mercy, no mercy". Classic.
Loved Bill...hte reason i started painting many years ago
Magnifique paysage !,
one of bills best paintings from the show
Great man. Bob Ross took lessons from him.

@@abc-ug5ym Not only that, but Ross RARELY ever gave any credit to Bill.

Ah man this one looks impressionist to me.u just have bad taste ,ha ha.
Bruce, he and bob ross are masters!!!
Not as good as Bob Ross
Better than Bob Ross.. Bill will always be the master. Bob was always the pupil.. Only thing Bob was better at was making money.. :0)
Seeburgm I desagree, in this case the student surpasses the master, Bob was able to perfect the technique in such a way, that just with a few brushstrokes you could see the sky with clouds included. Bob Ross was way better.
Denis, that's the beauty of art. It is truly in the eye of the beholder.
Bob Ross did not make any money from his paintings from the show, they were all donated.
