I’m beyond grateful right now I watched Bill many years ago on PBS along with my baby brother who was Autistic. My brother never spoke a word his whole life but my fondest memories of him were sitting and watching Bill paint as well as other PBS programs. Bill if you’re listening thank you for bringing back some great memories
I cannot get over my admiration for Bill Alexander's generosity at teaching us his wondrous art. Thanks for keeping showing his tuition videos. For me, as for all who love him, he's still very much alive. Bless this magnific channel and the Internet,
Mr Alexander I know this video is two years old now, but watching you paint this very wonderful redwood scene is a real delight. Very serene and colourful complete with sunshine. This painting reminds me of my youth, when I would often spend time wondering in the woods with my dog. Once, I was wondering along a woodland track, when all of a sudden there were red deer leaping across the track from left to right and right to left. Worried that I was going to get crashed into by these creatures, I decided it was safer to leave the track and walk among the trees for safety. Having avoided more deer leaping around, I walked with my dog, and having gone about four hundred yards into the woods, I came upon a small clearing with a little pond in it, just like in your painting. As I stood there listening to the silence of the wood along with my dog, I suddenly heard a snapping of twigs to my right. Having turned to see what caused this sound, I was suddenly approached by a Stag, which came right up to within two feet of me. So I stood very still and hoped my dog would do the same, as I was very aware of the danger I now faced from the presence of this magnificent beast complete with regal looking antlers. This went on for about five to ten minutes. I was careful NOT to eyeball this creature. After a while, I plucked up the courage to slowly put my right arm out to touch the Stag. Suddenly He jumped slightly in response, lifted his head up a bit and stared intently at me, before stepping between me and the small pond, and within about a foot of me,He passed right across my path and wondered off into the trees to my left. Ho amazing that was to realise this Stag did not consider me as a threat to him or to his harem. Back to you beautiful sun lit painting, everything you skillfully placed on canvas was an almost mirror image of that day back in my youth approximately fifty years ago Thank you for sharing your artwork with me sir, and for reminding me of the incident I described above.
As if it was yesterday. Such a beautiful, powerful moment. I can tell that one is a prize memory, your brain synapses have preserved that memory at the top of the list. I know exactly about that environment and have had the same experience. The Dogs pick up totally on your mood and actions and they do the same, (most of the time haha). When you get home, you have not only had a beautiful, memorable time, but so too have your pets. They too will remember that beautiful moment and time, frolicking through the trees and sniffing all the scents of the forest.. taking in all that glowing, bright green light and that moment when the Stag accepted you there. Wow..
' the brush has only two sides.. that can be a problem '' he says. Yes, he would like to have it doing more.. What an example for the rest of us this fantastic man is. I hope he is at peace being looked after and has that smile on his face, like he wanted. What a wonderful character full of life and aware of nature. Much love to him and his family from Nz. ♥️
It’s funny I’m just beginning to read the comments and I’m laughing because of how you all listen to him. Probably many of you subscribers watched Bill like my brother and I had
That one spot on the Shadow Side of the big Redwood on the Right (looks like about 12" of bark is missing, and it drives my OCD. I just want to reach in with 1 hit of the pallet knife and place the bark in there. lol, it preoccupied me all through the video. We each have our observing idiosyncrasies ... But the whole painting comes to life by the completion, with the details of Light and Shadows.
Yes, Bill died in 1997, but his line of oil paints and brushes is still available online. The link is in the video description. His brushes are some of the best I've ever used, and the paints are necessary for this style of painting.
Nice job excellent work very good example and great painting you have nice ideas Thanks you for the opportunity you have to learn drawing very natural landscape beautiful jobs
I love your videos but they are way to long so honestly who's got the time? I'm gonna have to hit the "not recommend this channel" option just because RUclips fill up my channel with stupid non sense recommendations.

With his almighty brush!
That's an amazing picture, just like the artist!

Excellent, so inspiring. In less than an hour, unbelievable.

Just gets better and better! Thanks my friend x
The bark on the pines looks sooo good!
Lol in my mind I hear him say bork 😂
Just Brilliant person and amazing art
I really like these ones that are longer. They give Onkel Willi time to put in a lot more detail and demonstrate his phenomenal skills.
Michael, we wish they were all longer. We just don’t have many that were more than 28 minutes. Thanks for your comment.
Happy New Year Bill and family 🎇💖

It's funny how certain things in art can catch our eye like that!
Wow!!! The best!!!
That's very beautiful ❤️
The few the proud the one hour Bill Alexander special!
Why do they point the branches downwards? Most all trees point up from the trunks. What can you do if you have an unsteady hand?
Beauty full
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 so wonderful! The water in the midle made it perfect!!!
Es 8ncreibñe la técnica y sensillez del maestro, veo que su obra día a día enriquece los detalles, una pincelada más dirigida a resaltar el color
With the little "bird's nest" clumps, as he calls them, they look more like Cedars. The sunlight: your bravery test!
Really enjoying this video. But could not make out if acrylic or oil. I’m a beginner! Would love to know???
Oil
Lindo!!! Suas tintas são acrílicas?
Im new to watching Bill videos. What a talented sweet man. Are these oil paints he's working with?
Yes, Bill died in 1997, but his line of oil paints and brushes is still available online. The link is in the video description. His brushes are some of the best I've ever used, and the paints are necessary for this style of painting.
Has anyone tried the Magic White?
it is the key for that technique, you should try it out! :)
Você usa tintas acrílicas?
... В одиночестве дереву было лучше ...😊😊❤
i wish I could have studied with him
Agree "masterpiece"
"Maybe I'll just hypnotize it a little bit" 😂
I love his sayings and mannerisms!
Nice job excellent work very good example and great painting you have nice ideas Thanks you for the opportunity you have to learn drawing very natural landscape beautiful jobs
He was actually a Sith Lord who used the power of the darker darker darker side to fire in his colors.
Does anyone here know Bill's recipe for the magic white?
The product is still sold by Alexander Art, along with thick paints and brushes and Bill's own palette knife.
Wow!!!!

No one asked you, weirdo.
How many hours do you burn in front of the TV? These videos are not "stupid nonsense". How do you claim to love the videos and then say all of that? 🤦
He says everything twice. Sometimes 3, 4 or 5 times. He never stops talking.
I agree.....a little more painting , a lot less yapping
