Yeah. Needs a bit more detail about why these discs are shaped like this and what it meant in terms of the disc's flight characteristics.

Quest AT wheel is unique and was approved for a single month then removed, but just in time for worlds where a Discraft sponsored player slipped this disc into the bag behind the sponsors back and almost won using this disc in the woods on forehand rollers in very very tight shots, one course used had a style of hope and throw hole that was not fair to use but was used to stop Ken Climo at the time from getting a 12th world title as he got the 12th the next year. Not sure who had used the Wheel disc when they were Discraft sponsored in the late 2000's for Worlds only as this was the only time it was approved for PDGA play.

Latitude 64 bite is actually really nice to throw for a dog. It glides so easily, if you don't have a big arm then this is definately a fun disc to try.

Thank you so much for showing some Ching Discs love! They had some other weird molds that have different style contours from the ones displayed... including the ORACLE and GENESIS. The Oracle might be my favorite mold of all time.

Not 100% sure that the discraft wave ever was PDGA legal, but it is an odd shaped rim.
The Xtreme also has an interesting profile on the rim.
And lets not forget the mutant from Discmania. Aside from it being round, there are no other round edges on the disc.

Pretty sure the baobab is the same exact mold as the Stego but with different plastic. I have multiple of both. I will say the Baobab has a bit more glide then the Stego.

I remember seeing those Ching Jujus in the sporting goods stores. I think they made a few of those really super bendy/flexy/gummy putters too. Having flashbacks of my friends and I trying to use them as bounce shot type discs, like we'd fold them and throw them at the ground so they'd bounce and flip themselves into the basket. What a weird time the early 00's was for disc golf. So many people trying to do on purpose ricochets off trees with those super softs cuz they wouldn't dent.

You should do Elevation Koi for the next episode. It’s really floppy and rubbery so it doesn’t skid or bounce. It’s great for hot dry ground when you want the disc to stick where it lands, or for heavily wooded holes because it won’t take a weird deflection off of trees.

Another good one is the Salient Prometheus. it is the largest disc ever approved by the PDGA. 14 speed that was meant to fly like a mid range. I have one but don’t bag it because it is too wide to fit in my bag…

  • @TardyTheTurtleOG

I couldn't find pics but DKG(I believe the Miracle) had the weirdest inner rim that was like a fluid transition from flight plate to wing. Almost like they didn't want you to be able to throw it.

  • @jist6953

The T-Bone was a joke name based on the T-Bird being so popular at the time. I heard the 10M Brick came about watching Justin Bunnel throw epic shots only to keep missing putts inside the circle. They figured if you could reduce spin you would gain consistency and make more putts.

As I recall, the point of the huge bubble on the Wildfire was that you actually pushed it down when you were lining up your drive and then it would pop back up mid-flight. It was a wild piece of plastic.

    • @williamhrivnak7345
      @williamhrivnak7345 2 года назад

How is that PDGA legal? Wouldn’t that be altering the flight characteristics of the disc?

  • @caseysmith544

If you do a 3, the disc that was left out was by Discraft with the Impact a disc my Brother and I use with several backups when the mold went oop it only works well at the 170--172 and 173--174 gram weights as the lighter weights the mold flies bad as in any winds past 5 mph take the disc and at heavy 176--177 the mold flies like a lead putter. Also forgot the GT Bangor a disc my cousin uses as his putter in soft/Jawbreaker Pro D and in a more durable plastic Soft X for throwing. Then Do not forget the Condor in that it is a 190 gram max Diameter midrange in the same rim design as the ROC, not too many companies still make the big 190 gram molds for discs. Have you ever seen the DGA Gumputt/Gumputt driver and the Blowfly/II? these 4 molds are so unique to the type of plastic, they are how R-Pro Putters are made. Then the Innova Nova is unique as this disc is soo deep and has the oddest way for the over mold to connect to the rest of the disc I have ever seen besides the Max Flight Frisbee Disc that Wham-O made.
Fun fact, the last time I saw the 10 meter Brick for sale on Amazon, by new owners in Beloit who in 2010 found the molds in a dumpster in Saint Louis the disc molds being sold in the mid 2010's tat the latest the 10 meter Brick was so floppy it was like the Dogobe and the catch disc floppiness from Aerobe and the rest were like the T-Bone plastic, this crappy version of Champion/Z plastic.

An underated weird disc is the Aerobie Arrow. It came as a pair with the Epic.
