I bought mine from you. Thank you. My question is during the bloom time for the pour over, coffee is still dripping into the mug. I thought the bloom time was for the water to sit in the grounds for 30 seconds and not go anywhere for that 30 seconds and THEN go through to the mug. Am I wrong? Thanks
Been using mine with the Hario Pegasus, the water is in longer contact with the coffee. The coffee is nicely rounded. Acidity and bitterness well controlled.
I'm a starter. Please explain me: Which filter coffee jug better than other, THERMOS jug or GLASS jug? For better coffee flavor which one i must choose ?
It depends on how your pallete goes in regards to metal. Glass jug eliminates that prospect but also sacrifices lots of beneficial heat retention in favour of a 45 minute heater.
HI I just bought this from you it does not come with the containier for the cone filter is that not included in the box? On this video it looks like a clear cone shape container and on other videos I've seen you use one that is white ceramic type? It did come with the adapter and the disc and you displayed it. Thank you. I brewed by first pot and WOW.. coffee taste great.
Don’t you think there are too many moving parts just for a pour-over coffee? I’ve been using the plastic (pp5) melitta #2 pour over funnel and it does a good job of making good coffee for a lot less preparation time - ; 1. Boil water from a 1 quart sauce pan, ( just about to see a bit bubbly) pour to 2 tablespoons ground coffee on the Melitta (with the #2 filter) sitting on your reusable mug. Done. (And I paid $2.99 at Vons 8 years ago today)
I just got this machine. When making one mug of coffee (2 cups). Using the cone filter, I only get 8 ounces out when putting 12 ounces in. The water is staying in the cone after it says it's done. What am i doing wrong?
Have y'all testing the water temp hitting the grounds? I just received mine and, on the gold standard, it's brewing at ~150 degrees - way, way off... If I manually adjust the temp to max, I think it was 206, it's brewing at ~160. I can't decide if it's a defective unit or inherent in the design.
I had the same issue and was sent a replacement unit by Breville. Still had the same issue with the replacement. This was the very first year the unit was offered. Guessing they've finally fixed it. First time I've been disappointed with any Breville product as I have kitchen full of them and love them.
Hello, I'm sorry for the problem I have a problem, I do not know which device to choose espresso .... DeLonghi espresso machine Primadona ECAM 28 465 or MIELE Coffee machine CM 6350 OBSW..molim for reply ... the best you are, I follow you regularly
Gail on your pour-over try about 26-30 grams of coffee for your 12 Oz mug. That’s gonna make you a lot happier. A few less grams for the darker roasts. Also set the flow rate to the longest setting (IMHO) I geeked out and ran it gram by gram and different grind settings using this machine+grinder/method. Hope it works better, Cheers!
Is there a good coffee maker that doesn't run hot water through plastic parts? I like the clive coffee ratio eight, but the fact it doesn't have a heating plate is a huge downside to me since I like to slowly drink coffee.
I would say a Technivorm Moccamaster. Heating element is copper, it is pumped through a glass tube into the metal shower head. However the only hot-water-to-plastic that happens is when the coffee is brewing in the cone, as the filter holder is plastic. Otherwise sadly I don't think any automatic machines with hot plates exist with that level of materials. Hope this helps
@@brucew.5292 Actually they only keep the coffee hot for hours and hours so long as the pot is full. Once you start pouring coffee out you're losing the heat. Yes, I've tried many. Very disappointing to have to reheat your coffee an hour or two after because these carafes suck.
What is the point of the “pour over” facility which is more or less just allowing you to use your own filter cone, and a different shower head, instead of the one that comes with the machine. Seems like a silly gimmick to me.
You could, in theory, set the water temperature then brew into a the carafe with teabags in it, but this machine doesn't boil water so it might not be the best fit for tea.
I just don't get this thing. Sooooo many damn parts. This way over complicates brewing a pour over. If you love in a tiny house and need a jack of all trades machine maybe, otherwise just make a V60 manually.
thegoodplace, they may have made a reliable machine here and there but my statement was made due to the overwhelming instances of poor product reliability issues that have been reported all over the internet. A simple search for reviews will show many people saying the machine, whether a grinder or another machine, was good but build quality and parts are substandard.
Had a Breville dual boiler, and that died just out of warranty. Paid $350 to get it fixed but while it was in repair I got impatient and bought an Oracle. The Oracle died twice during the warranty period so at least I wasn't out of money. After the second repair I didn't want to deal with a potential third so I sold it. From my experience, Breville coffee equipment is super innovative, but the reliability was pretty poor for me. Service was always resoonsive though. I've had good luck with all non-coffee Breville appliances though.
The Tribute Edition is a total sham! As it was explained to me by Seattle Coffee Gear Customer Service, there is absolutely NOTHING different about this version of the Breville drip coffee maker than the one you can get anywhere else, except they throw in the pour-over adapter to the basic model and charge you more for it. So if you don't want the adapter, don't buy this version--you get nothing extra for your money otherwise. This isn't a Breville deceit--this is a Seattle Coffee Gear deceit! I do hope the Brevillle brewer is truly worth it's salt over time.
So we've gone from manual coffee making, to automatic coffee making, back to manual coffee making and now manual/automatic coffee making.

In regards to coffee in the cup…why exactly do I want 3 holes instead of 4? In other words, why is the pour over attachment “worth it”? I thank you!
Been using mine with the Hario Pegasus, the water is in longer contact with the coffee. The coffee is nicely rounded. Acidity and bitterness well controlled.
I use mine for pour-over and it does a fantastic job. Very happy with my Breville Precision Brewer. Next adventure: cold brew with this machine.
It uses a "paper" filter ?

It depends on how your pallete goes in regards to metal. Glass jug eliminates that prospect but also sacrifices lots of beneficial heat retention in favour of a 45 minute heater.
Can you do an actual demo of the cold brew function for this unit? Would be nice to see if there is any residue after the brewing process...
It does not do a real cold brew, was taken from the market in my country because of design issues regarding "true" cold brew.
Residue? What do you mean by this?
@@adamrant4138 Which country??

Do we know which grind setting she used for either batch brew or V60 with the breville grinder shown in the video?

Use 16 oz of water, that is what I do

that sounds quite defective, did you get it fixed?

What grind setting do you recommend? Thanks!
Mine did not come with pour-over an adapter ring. Manual says it should.
So many great ways to make coffee, love it.
Hi. Great personality Geal. Do you have like this machine with 220 V?
FYI you don't fill it up for cold brew. You only fill it up to the 450ml mark. It's literally marked on the water container.
Just bought one last night to replace my breville grind control. So nervous. Just hoping the heat is consistent!!
Keep your receipt! My machine failed within 75 days and Breville was giving me the roundabout.
Do you have to use paper filters?
Mind is arriving Sunday, can’t wait!
I know this is very old but you can only brew up to 20 oz on cold brew mode. If you put in more water it won't work.

HUNTER Ratio coffee maker

A thermal carafe will keep the coffee warm for hours and hours, have you tried one?

I wish you had shown exactly how to install the showerhead.
Hi Gayle. Love the reviews and information.
Wow another great video but that just way too complicated to make a nice cup, I'll just stick to my Motif Essential machine.
Damn Gail! I just ordered one for Christmas! :)
And How do you like it? My Technivorm just went out!!
Can u make tea with it also?
You could, in theory, set the water temperature then brew into a the carafe with teabags in it, but this machine doesn't boil water so it might not be the best fit for tea.
If you make world wide shipping .. I'm gonna order it from you
For that price it should come with a pour over cone too.
Great video and review!!!
Can I buy a model of this for european 230 v power?
Zakk1988 Breville is an Australian company and Australia is 240 volts, so they make them.
Ops!! someone forogot to rinse the filter :)
Literally sat here going "No! No, stop!"
Those bloody Aussies know how to make coffee machines, eh?

I still prefer my Technivorm Grand Master. Hand made and NOT in China
Pity Breville build quality is infamous for it's shoddiness.
Say that to the people who have been using the Dual Boiler espresso machine for 5+ years on home-barista.
Their new stuff is way better than their old stuff
