I just got mine. I’ve noticed if I make a single 10oz cup on gold. My coffee is very warm but not hot. If I make a large 20oz cup then my coffee was hot. About 165-167f. The single cup was 159-160f. Those temps are taken straight into the cup with no carafe. Both cups tasted great though. Going to keep experimenting with it. So far I really like it.
Me too. More than 4 cups, 170 F, less than 4 cups 127 F. Nobody at Breville could explain why. Leaves me to believe that their tech support is lacking in knowledge and finding a solution.Deep down my gut feeling this a flaw in the program that everyone at Breville was told to ignore including the supervisors.
I just bought this machine and the water sprayer is drilling a hole through the grounds,so only half the coffee is wet and by the end of the brew it's just water coming out because all the grounds have been displaced. Is anyone else having this issue or did I get a faulty machine?
My Gold setting does not display blooming on the screen when I make 40 oz pot of coffee. Is this normal? I just bought the machine 2 days ago and not sure what to expect on each mode. Also after brewing a pot, the screen only displayed 3 modes to select and had skipped the clod brew and pour over mode. Is this normal? I called Breville and they couldn't really explain what was supposed to happen on each mode. Thanks.
Try a coarser grind! I found that when I ground too fine some of the water overflowed and went straight into the carafe? Making it super weak. Took me a while to figure it out.
Has been withdrawn from the UK, too many things wrong with it, a lovely machine but flawed from the beginning. Do not know if it will ever be released in the UK (only via special order). Breville (Sage in the UK) are making a few too many mistakes with their current releases. Barista Touch (maybe the Barista Pro ?) has a problem with the temp settings on extracting an espresso shot (too cold), maybe something to do with quick heat up not actually maintaining temp ? The precision brewer is a lovely looking machine and would be great for a larger mug of coffee than just an espresso shot or two. Great to see you review this machine !
Am now looking at a Nespresso Vertuo to achieve a larger mug of coffee, have waited too long for the precision brewer only for Breville to pull it from sale.
Interesting. I had no idea about those problems in the UK. It's currently our daily brewer here at home, so I'll let you know if we encounter any problems.

Why you saying this things i don`t now.Withdrawn from UK you say, really? The difference here is that i is giving up my source to backup what i am stating...you don`t.
I just read an article about this brewer and the UK. They had issues with your hard water there. Supposedly they started including a water softener filter for just the UK.
Does this coffee maker have the issue of overflow with the basket when you make a full pot of coffee? Does it make a mess of any form when making a full pot?
Truth be told, I've kept it at the factory setting. I'm pretty happy with it. I'll probably play around with it over time. Maybe I'll try your settings. : )
Contacted Breville told them of my temps & gave them my batch #. They are sending me a replacement. So hopefully this replacement brews a little hotter. Anybody else have an issue with temps on 1-2 cup brews??
I returned my machine before the warranty ended at the store. I was getting inconsistent temperatures of 180, 170 and then towards the end of its period, 145. I just found this unacceptable for such an expensive machine! Instead, I got a moccamaster, so much better!
He was referring to keeping a glass carafe on a warming plate; this eventually degrades the flavor of the coffee. This doesn't happen with a thermal carafe.
It can, but not without tinkering. You would ideally have a quality grinder, quality beans, and know how to dial in your brew. If not those, the one advantage this offers is more consistent brews. My cheap Mr. Coffee sometimes makes a good batch and sometimes makes a terrible batch. This would be more consistent and then you can also tweak it over time to optimize it for flavor. With that said, if you are just looking for consistency and don't plan on also spending $100-$200 on a decent grinder you can find some decent brewers in the $100 range
My wife can be particularly picky when it comes to coffee, but I’ll drink just about any coffee. If youre the only one drinking and can’t taste the difference, you might be better off sticking to the $16 coffee pot.
@@NickUsborne I really like the idea of "all in one" with ground control coffe maker but to many negative reviews on Amazon, people saying it breaks. Is yours still work fine? Thank you

Hi 4wolverines, Sounds like you were having the same kind of problems that I have read about in other reviews and so many others are having with this unit....only a warm cup produced or inconsistent cup temperature's. I'm wondering what the end result has been with their support? Have been contemplating the purchase of one of these
@@TheMozza76 What does that mean "preheat the flask"? I just ordered this machine and one of the reasons was for temp control. I like my coffee hot. I usually only make enough for a mug. So now I'm thinking I may be disappointed in this purchase.
@@genesullivan3487 you just need to fill the flask with hot water first to pre heat, do this while you are preparing your coffee filter etc This stops the heat being pulled out of your fresh brew by a cold flask.. Don’t forget to empty the water out from the flask before you press start 🙈

Hannah Espelund During the 1st month I was getting excellent results from this machine. Large batches of coffee(6-7 cups) were brewing at 200 F, and upon serving, the final temperature was at 185 F. This was understandable to me since the carafe is cold. The machine also made excellent single serve cups of coffee, as you have the option to directly brew into a mug, it would serve at 185 F, but to get that hot cup of coffee I had to pre warm my cups or otherwise the final result was a cup at a mere 165 F. Just to make it clear, I got this machine on thanksgiving and it would do well, but around January the machine started to act up. I experienced the machine shutting off and not turning on anymore ? Breville recommended I restart machine by holding a series of button and that solved the problem. A few weeks later the machine stopped producing hot coffee. The brew head was producing warm water at 165F giving me a final result of 145 F. Then I emailed Breville again, but they took 2 weeks to get back to me. Their response was annoying because they gave me a list of ten things to try, and they told me that the machine’s sensors could sometimes be interfered by bright environments, umm what ? So I then moved my machine to a dim part of the kitchen, but now at this point, the machine’s warming plate wasn’t getting hot anymore. It was so warm that I could lay my hand on the plate. I re-emailed Breville, and surprise their response was super slow. Eventually I had enough and returned the machine the 1st week of March and proceeded to buy a Moccamaster. As of now, the Moccamaster is hands down the best drip maker I have ever had. It beats Breville ! I didn’t like the fact that Breville’s customer services was almost non existent. It took them almost three weeks to respond to an email.

Don’t spend the money on these unless you can tell the difference and don’t put a bunch of milk or flavorings in the coffee

No, it's not Anushik
