Trying to get my first gaming pc. I’ve been enjoying your videos. Looking at prebuilts but I just haven’t found a good enough deal to pull the trigger on. There’s always something missing I want or something I worry might not be worth the money. I would love to build my own but I’ve never done it and obviously getting a gpu is a nightmare. Everywhere I look people say the amd 6600 is not worth buying. I kind of have my heart set on gaming in 1440P but honestly I don’t know if I should just settle for something like this or a prebuilt
bookmarked all that i'm looking for or might even look into Ryzen with RDNA2 next year, but for the time being going with cheap xeon setup (v2/v3 8cores/16cores) with 16gb 1866Mhz along with my 1060 6GB and a 512nvme
Actually Mr I was going to build a 5600g build but in my country it takes a lot of money so I'm buying a asus tuf a15 i5 11400h /rtx 3050 /8gb ram model I'm gonna upgrade the ram to 16 gb what Do think about that
Fantastic video. I love it that you consider viewer practicality and tested with the 3060 Ti because that's the most likely future upgrade 3600G will use, rather than the 3090s
Doubt it. In two years 8 gig cards will be basically E-waste. They are already obsolete now. They cannot handle ray tracing, which is becoming the norm in the gaming industry.
Don't do it man, knowing that its a budget build you're gonna buy a crappy motherboard with the 5600g, even with good cooling. My pc which also has an APU (3400g with rtx 2070 and a terrible msi b450m) which has aged like milk and its pcie 3 (both 5600g and 3400g, 3000series are pcie 3 locked) *don't get fooled this same man has told people not buy the rx 6500xt as it's pcie gen 4 and switching to pcie 3 hurts performance* When I newly got it I was impressed with its performance in csgo and valorant keeping around 60fps in 1080p low, after the pandemic I was able to get a rtx 2070 8gb (because it's pcie gen 3 mainly), I was not impressed with the performance at all, valorant was hitting only 120-140ish fps, so I did an extreme OC to the 3400g push it to its limits from 3.7 to 4.15 (some have success at 4.2 but it kept crashing my pc as the vrms get extremely hot, I do have a corsair aio and temps for it has not gone above 80 celcuis ever even after hours of doom eternal (gpu gets hot sometimes reaching 82C but thermal throttling starts at 85 accoridng to some formus) also it has a terrible max ram speed of 2993mhz (this is extremely bad as this is technically considered OC, anything more and my motherboard bootloops until it removes xmp), paired with the terrible amd software which basically puts a yellow filter on my monitor for some reason I spent soo much money back then building this pc which now sells for lesser than some OEM machines sadly, 3400g is selling for 35usd or cheaper, when I got it I paid almost 200 usd in my region. This part has basically wasted so much of my time and resources DO NOT BUY A PART WHICH YOU WILL NOT USE. Upgrading a major component like cpu/gpu is basically a loss of both time and money, your other components in your pc ALSO AGE. My recommendation just buy the regular 5600 as it's just 23 dollars more on amazon right now, 5600x is 22 dollars more than 5600 and the performance jump is not that great so pick 5600 as of now and pick a good gpu and a decent b550 or x570 motherboard (Aviod micro atx if you're not using a smaller case, routing the cables to a smaller board is much more difficult and in some cases the holes which mount for a bigger board looks odd) I recommend Nvidia as of now as they are constantly getting new drivers and their performance is not locked behind driver like Intel (Intel would destroy Nvidia if their drivers was perfect), and amd has a track record for not updating drivers especially the rx400/500 line which straight up does not have dx12 meaning some games won't work In short : buy a cpu(5600), the gpu you want something like a rtx 3060,a decent motherboard all at once or save up, don't go into the business of upgrading you will ending losing valuable time and money
@@PCBuilderChannel I want to build a whole nice benchtable PC with the Raijintech Paean M with only the 5600g on it cooled with a big 280mm AiO😂 love the overkill! I want a really nice and cool PC but only for productivity no games! What PSU can you recommend for this low end build? I though of at highest 300 watts PSU when using only this CPU for my work! I thought of a fanless PSU of Seasonic so the 450 watts is the lowest 🤔
I just built my ryzen 5 5600g, asus prime b550m-a wifi motherboard, 256gb ssd and 500gb hdd. But every time i open gta 5 my cpu usage skyrockets to 99% usage and i can't even look at it and I've also lowered the graphics settings to normal on everything🐥 can you guys tell me what i need to do? This is my first build and i don't know what to doo? 😅
Just 2 things to consider. If you're willing to live without the RGB, you can get 4000 cl18 memory (2x8) for $86 - $88. Also, the Thermaltake Versa H18 runs $50-$60, has a tinted glass side panel, mesh front, good cable management space, but only 1 included case fan.
You don't get a lot more FPS out of faster memory, but if you spend more time overclocking than I did you can get more FPS - but we're talking single digits here.
Its not the speed. Its the amount of memory the system is using for the gpu. Default is 512Mb of ram. Put 32 gigs in and give the GPU 8 gigs to play with in the bios and you will see a much better performance.
Now in 2023 you can get Teamgroup T Force Vulcan ddr4 32gb (2x16) 4000mhz cl18 for 72... However, for IGPU's I reccomend going for the lower 3600mhz just cuz the 4000mhz gives a hardly noticeable peromance upgrade especially with 32gb, and if you want to go really budget then 3600mhz cl18 16gb (2x8) is the way to go, since teamgroup also has a version of that for just 37 dollars, but if you insist on 4000mhz then their 16gb 4000mhz is only 7 dollars more for 44.
@@mymrmelon3503 3200 cl14 b-die ram second hand is so cheap now and with the 5600G's top memory controller it can be OCd to 4000 cl 16-16-16 in 1:1 with GDM EZ and fixes the 1% lows too. His 1% lows are so bad cause of the slow 3200 cl 16-18-18 ram and 1600 Infinity Fabric clock also resulting in slow cpu cache as well.
I actually got a 5600g for an upgrade/new build. I had an old am3 gigabyte board, amd 1090T, 8gb 1600 ddr3(max the board would support), and an msi gtx1060 6gb. This was an ibuypower lower end pre-built my wife got me a little over 10 years ago that reached the end of its' upgrade path. I decided to go with the 5600g as a dedicated cpu due to where it landed in pricing vs performance. Now my poor old 1060 is the bottleneck, but hey, it still plays most games I own just fine, especially since I'm at 1080p. I went with an msi tomahawk II, 16gb corsair vengeance 3600 ram, and a cx-650m psu(the 11 year old $20 Chinese one that ibuypower used was making me nervous). I always wanted to build my own pc, and finally at 42 years old, I basically did. The only reused part is the case and the storage.(waiting for an m.2 ssd upgrade).
Hey, a little bit late to mention in this video but better memory has a much better effect on CPUs with integrated graphics than with dedicated graphics cards, so lower latency has a much higher performance gain
I literally started doing a similar build about 2 days ago and you post a video doing your own, the timing! btw, I think you said 500TB SSD and it's 500GB :P
Thanks so much for this video. I'm building my first ever gaming rig around the 5600g and as someone who knows little to nothing about PC Builds, it was incredibly helpful! Good to know a graphics card isn't needed but can be added later once the chip prices go down
I really appreciate this video a year later, I'm building a computer for the first time and am going with the 5600G and the Asus Tuf motherboard your recommended as well. I plan to add a 2060 in the future so I can play an AAA title at OK settings every now and again. Very informative, easy to understand for the inexperienced and focused and to the point. Thanks a lot
I just upgraded from a AM3 platform to the AM4... went with MSI B450 Gaming Max Plus and the Ryzen 5 5600G. installed 16GB DDR4 memory (2133) and now am able to run and play Syberia 3! love the graphics and the Smooth video! tried to run the game on a AM3+ system and it barely ran.... now I'm future proofed for another 10+ years!
So I've gone a different route and bought a used gaming laptop. I payed under 600. In the meantime I'm saving my money for when I can build a good system at a reasonable price. The neat thing is I'll have a laptop that I can use alongside my build once the market has calmed down.
Things change, got a 5600G running on an ASRock A320M HDV 3.0 board, with 32GB of 3600 memory, and the CPU and memory upgrade only cost me $200 after New Year. Just update to the latest BIOS and leave the RAM voltage on Auto and select 3600, update the drivers to the latest ones and it's really stable. No point really throwing more money at AM4 than this as it's near EOL.
Thanks for this build. I just finished building a computer with a Ryzen 5600X. It's my first build. My 15 year old son thinks it's the coolest thing ever so I wanted to get him the components to build his own as a Christmas present. He plays a lot of Minecraft and a little GTA 5. I figured I would get him a 5600G and when prices come back down on GPU's he can earn some money and upgrade. I was choosing components but after this video I just went and bought everything you suggested. The 5600G from Amazon was sold out so I paid $10 more from one at New Egg and I also spent a few dollars more for a case with ARGB fans to make it look really cool for him. But the total cost was only $570 and now he'll have something really good for now that he can eventually upgrade without spending too much. 👍👍👍
Just upgraded from 5 3400g to 5 5600g paired with a gtx 1660 and 32gig of ddr4 using an asus a320 motherboard with updated bios and i find it handles everything i throw at it . love the videos mate . from scotland.
I'm considering picking up either a 5600G or a 5700G to use for a new gaming PC to last several years, then when it's time to upgrade from them to a new build in the AM5 range I can use either of them for a home build media / NAS server where their integrated graphics will allow me to work with the system without a dedicated graphics card & they will have more than enough power to function.
Thanks Jason. Great info for me, being a quasi-newbie on such stuff. Although, I would watch your videos just to see your impressive evasive maneuver when that page turn thing comes at you. LOL.
Since I haven't built my PC yet (because I'm waiting for December to come around to see if I can get some of the components for sale), I'll probably pick up a 5600G for now then when the prices of 30 series GPUs drops, I'll just sell the 5600G for a 5600X
Thanks for this build, I’m basing the build for my son with same cpu and motherboard. I ended getting the Corsair 4000D airflow because it comes in a white case, hoping it all works out as a Xmas gift!
@@Hawksfan1906 he went w the b450 plus ll asus tuf , he said the same as the build the pc builder did and theres some good white cases im gettting the antec nx410 mid tower case and has some rgb and fans 85 bucks comes in white to or black
I wish you had popped in a GPU into the build, I want to know how the 5600G would perform on its own vs with an added GPU, the comparison to the 5600x + gpu didn't really help me. But thanks for all the other tips!
I Have been researching on 5600G pc building for weeks. Now after watching this video i think I Have all my answers and ready to go n build a pc ❤🎉. Keep up good work
The gen3 issue with GPU’s is generally a non issue when the gpu is 16x. But RX6600XT are only Gen4 8x so pairing it at 8x Gen3 is enough of a issue to give you much less performance in games like Doom Eternal. People with gen3 systems should either go 3060/3060ti or RX6700 as they are all 16x which will give you enough bandwidth even on gen3.
Hi, i recently built a budget 5600g and a520m with 550w psu. Im aware that im only at pcie3 and i thought i wont have any problem when i upgrade. My original plan is to buy 2060s/3060 or 6600 maybe nxt yr.but base on ur comment, i should not consider 6600. Im trying to find some post about this but i cant. How bad it is if i get 6600?like 20% lower performance or something? Thanks!
@@chrizpao Most people don’t have a clue about this topic and think because they have seen gen3 vs gen4 comparison videos they know what they are talking about. The biggest factor these people that say it won't make a difference miss is they are seeing 16x cards compared in a Gen3 vs Gen4 test. Almost every test does not talk about 8x cards in a Gen3 system. A 6600 running in a modern system gets basically the same bandwidth capability as a Gen3 16x card gets. But as soon as you put that Gen4 8x card in a older system you don't just drop down from a 31.5GB/s max Gen4 spec down to a Gen3 15.8GB/s you now halve it again to 7.88GB/s which is basically the same as super old school 16x Gen2 spec of 8.0GB/s. Gen4 16x bandwidth = 31.5GB/s Gen3 16x bandwidth = 15.8GB/s Gen4 8x bandwidth = 15.75GB/s Gen3 8x bandwidth = 7.88GB/s Gen2 16x bandwidth = 8.0GB/s So again if you must run a Gen3 spec system just buy a 16x card so you don't take a double hit in bandwidth. Some games might have little performance loss but some games like Doom Eternal on 7.88GB/s is enough to bottleneck the card. Hardware Unboxed had a video that in the middle of it showed some big hits to performance due to Gen3 8x. If someone gave you the card or you found a 6600 for like $100 then sure go for it but if buying new just go 3060/3060ti/6700/6700xt or better.
Considering getting this and upgrading to Ryzen 9 later, but now wondering if building a cheaper one would be better for now... though I'm doing this moreso for editing than gaming as I prefer consoles to PC but at the same time my current PC is a 2013 FM2 chip Lenovo with 8GB RAM cap so it's like *anything* would be an improvement.
These APUs respond best from OCing memory so pushing the RAM to 3600 CL16 and pushing the CPU clocks give a good boost. Any iGPU OC should be guided by temp vs perf gain

although i've already seen a lot about this cpu, this video was a good mashup of all the things one needs to know, except for the fact that i'm aiming at a 150$ cheaper build with the 5600g. Enjoyable !
I’m really liking these FPS findings for 5600G vs. 5600X, both when applying GPU! I was comparing single- and multi-core benchmark performances on Passmark, Cinebench, Geekbench 5 across legitimate benchmarking sites among users and also noticed the % differences between 5600X and 5600G seemed marginally too low to justify the former option’s higher cost, especially for budget builders who want to start tinkering now. Since my approach was mostly analytical/theoretical, I’m glad to see how those numbers translated into actual performance in games to confirm what I was seeing. Cost minded gamers/enthusiasts really can’t go wrong with trying these new six core APU’s like you suggested, especially if they’re considering gaming AND streaming down the road. I’m buying one for sure haha, thanks again for the info #PCBuilder! - Malakai
Glad you liked the video! I still think the 5600X is the choice if using a GPU of course, but the iGPU only option 5600g is a great starter gaming PC until things get better!
@@PCBuilderChannel As of today with the higher energy costs, having an igpu may be better on your bills even if you also have a dedicated gpu. It also increass thw lifespan of your gpu, it's also better at troubleshooting if your dedicated card starts to give problems.
thanks for being fast and going straight to the point this video is really amazing in recommending stuff, unlike other videos that explains about 5-10 minutes of features that normal people can't understand, this guy summarise it all instantly!
Tbh the 5600g is probably perfect for me, since I don’t need to buy a dedicated gpu which will cost me a “god damn bro why?” amount of money. Yet I still could buy one in the future if I ever could. Plus if I ever upgrade my cpu I could put it in a really small form factor and make a portable mini pc.
Do you think we can expect to get better deals for PC components on Cyber Monday this year? I heard it usually mainly applies to peripherals but I wanted to know if you think I can get something like a midrange GPU at a reasonable price.
Considering most gpus on markets aren't even from actual retailers and the ones that are from the retailers have to be pushed in bundles just for them to break even idk if they will put em on sale. But that's just my view, hopefully it's just me being pessimistic and we actually do get some good deals cuz I got a pc I built like a month ago and I still have no gpu in it : (.
Sadly I doubt that we will see any sales on GPUs over the holidays. Probably won't see prices drop until early or mid 2022. But its possible we might see some deals on prebuilt or laptops which are good alternatives to building with a GPU right now
I need to replace my 9 year old mid level gaming computer soon as it's on its last legs. I was thinking of going with the 5600x with 3060ti, 16gb memory, 750 power, 1TG SSD and 2TG HDD, a decent mobo (don't know alot about them) and a few rgb fans in a nice case like phanteks, lian li, bequiet 802 or one of the corsairs. My budget is around 2k max and from my research, these components sound like the best bang for the buck for something that won't be outdated for at least a few years. I know it's a little cheaper to build yourself, but I wanted to go with a custom prebuilt for better warranty and tech support. I can't decide who to go with though. My top choices at the moment are digital storm, origin, xidax, xotic, metapc, bottomline thermals and CLX. I've been going back and forth between them for weeks and they all have things I like, but also some things I don't which is making it hard to decide. Any advice?
I don't have a lot of thoughts on custom PC builders, but if you are looking for a prebuilt gaming PC I have a whole video on it (best prebuilt gaming PC 2022).
I finished my first build!!!! I used the ryznez 5600x ,3060 evga,2terra crucial pcie gen3, !!! Thanks for the advice!! Im gonna start my next pc build next month!!!
I just built a 5600x and that amd challenger rx 6600 xt. Its a great pc so far for everything i play. Gonna put it to the test on battlefield 2042 when i get it.
Amazon should really advertise with you. It is October 23rd, 1 day after this video went up, and The ASUS Gaming Plus II was $101 when I looked. The prices are amazingly dependent on positive commentary from well - respected educators / influencers like yourself. They should support your work here.
Just built a computer with the 5600g. I focused on future proofing to spend extra money later for a good gpu, case, and cooling. I got a case for free (damn thing was 20 years old so i/o is useless except for power button) and used the stock cooler.
@@xiouh_ Sorry for being late but I got an ASUS B550-F motherboard and I didn't need a BIOs flashback to get to the bios screen. It's been doing a good job and supports all my components.

No one like you sir, believe or not... Your teaching techniques are awesome and I listen your videos carefully... I am a CS student... I want to know clear cut things which you give us properly. Thank you so much sir
In regards to 5600G vs 5600X, it should be noted that the thicker infinity fabric on the 5600G allows for easier memory overclocking. A FCLK of 2000Mgz is easy and I’ve even seen 2200Mhz running 1:1 with DDR4-4400 In CPU-bound tasks like 1080p games with a 3080 (maybe even 3060) GPU this may make a difference. Assuming the memory configuration of both the 5600X and 5600G is dual rank, like with 4 slots populated, I wonder how much the memory overclocking potential of the 5600G would reduce the difference in frame rate.
I think the issue is the cost. If you have the money to buy 4400 memory, you can just buy a GPU with a 5600X. I think the use case is those who would normally build gaming PCs under $800, or those who want something that would cost $2400 but would normally build for more like $1500.
5700g, Asus x570e, 2tb adata m. 2, 64gb 2sticks ddr4 @ 3200, be quiet low profile cooler, no airflow wood case looks like old time radio, only vent is 850 watt power supply. Asus auto clock to 4. Hertz, dimms boost to 3000 stable under load at 38 to 42c. In bios , advanced, nb , graphics allocated memory change stock setting from 512mb to 16gb. I play fallout 3, 4, nv. Fallout games are locked to 60 fps or less. Now, all settings at ultra, 40 to 60 fps no lag or stutter. Very short load times. Learn to use mo2, no more crash, freeze, no overheating crashes. And and Asus got it right. P. S., I'm 65 year old and I mod fallout heavily. 1300 dollar build, silent and cool running should last 10 years. My last build lasted 10 years with out repair, thermal paste dried out, ctd on startup. Asus crosshair 5 with 4 core bulldozer evga sli 2 On 1 card. Still works. New Ryzen apu graphics and fps, great.
Thanks for this, just purchased the 5600g for £120 which I think is pretty good value. Still cant decide on what Mobo to get. (I usually do this as deciding what I really need in terms of connections/ports) I'm upgrading from a 8 -9 year old i5. - other than the PSU and a spare SSD I will need to add everything else. I will be happy with medium frame rates but with the chance to expand later if I get into it more. Would overclocking slightly be unwise on a Stock cooler? I like things very stable!
I was planning to build the same on Msi B550M Mortar But after your view on B450 boards I think I'll get a B450 Mortar Max and update the Bios It will save me about $80 I will not be using Pcie gen4 ssd or higher end GPUs to get a use out of it And VRM on this Msi B450 is also good for a 6 core 5600g Thank you so much ❤️
This video is one that has a great deal of valuable info packed into it. Also, On your recommendation I did buy a RX 6600 XT and MoBo combo from Newegg. I just finished building my new gaming PC two days ago and I LOVE it. I was able to get good parts by watching your videos, so a big thank you. I kept my old Case which is a Nzxt White Phantom 410. Thank you so much for the helpful video's and Info. I'm saving to buy a nice Monitor now.
I went 5600g and 4400mhz patriot ram and similar motherboard for flash bios, the asus tuf pro s. I used the extreme overclock on the gpu and provided 2gb for the video memory. I only really play one pc game and I get 60fps 1080p low settings with apex legends. Good APU :)
There are very few such good channels on RUclips, who read every single comment, and then reply, so thank you very much, and want to tell people that we should stay connected with such a channel, where problem is solved, Once Again Thank You So Much Sir.
Hi. Is the 5600G still a good option? Amazon have it on offer right now. What is the max resolution it outputs? I have a 49” ultra wide at 5120x1440. Thanks.
I built a system with the 5600g and a 3060 was just gonna build with no gpu at micro center went there to get the parts and they had a gpu! But I messed up though I should’ve upgraded to the 5600x while I was there, but I’m still super happy with my build!
Thanks, Jason! Been really enjoying your videos. I recently bought the ASRock B550M Pro4 MB to pair with my AMD Ryzen 5 5600G and I can't get it to post -- I'm worried they're not compatible without updating the MB bios! Thought that combo had been one of your recommendations in a diff video but I can't recall! So re-watching this video to see if there's a different combo I should target or if there's something else I should do to troubleshoot and get it to post! Any thoughts are much appreciated!
Check what bios version that board is, they typically have a sticker on it. Look on the support page and make sure it supports this CPU. If it does, check all the physical connections and make sure everything is installed correctly. If it doesn't you'll want to return
Great insight on these budget parts, exactly what I needed. Got a good deal on a new TUF Gaming II B450 board for £35/$41 off a friend (same as yours). As I don't wanna switch to AM5 right away due to expensive motherboards, a CPU upgrade like the 5500 and 5600G is perfect. Pairing it with a 6650XT shall give it a few extra years of life.
Thank You for Your video, Planned to build using this APU since I've finished my college and my 8 years old Laptop already worn out. Gonna use it for some times while saving up for RX 6700 XT, not really care about ray tracing from Team Green
Nice Video well done Things I like was you made it look simple.. which was nice. Things I didn't like --- Lifting the motherboard by it's CPU fan in the air to fit into tower.. Also the games you tested. Ryzen 5600G Absolutely Fly in Battlefield at 1080P 2-3-4 plays fine.. Call of duty Modern warfare 2 Plus so so much more...other games Minecraft CSGO all the fun ones and past ones.. F1 trying all of them.
I think he chose those games because they are a better representation of industry standard benchmarks. Beheading with newer games of course pushing the hardware more. Yes, older games are going to run like butter just because they are significantly less demanding, but that isn't a fair representation of how the 5600g will perform going forward.

Actually Mr I was going to build a 5600g build but in my country it takes a lot of money so I'm buying a asus tuf a15
i5 11400h /rtx 3050 /8gb ram model
I'm gonna upgrade the ram to 16 gb what
Do think about that
i'm on a 10years old GPU and pc (i5 4400) and i'm smiling :)
Fantastic video. I love it that you consider viewer practicality and tested with the 3060 Ti because that's the most likely future upgrade 3600G will use, rather than the 3090s
Glad you liked it!!
My pc which also has an APU (3400g with rtx 2070 and a terrible msi b450m) which has aged like milk and its pcie 3 (both 5600g and 3400g, 3000series are pcie 3 locked) *don't get fooled this same man has told people not buy the rx 6500xt as it's pcie gen 4 and switching to pcie 3 hurts performance*
When I newly got it I was impressed with its performance in csgo and valorant keeping around 60fps in 1080p low, after the pandemic I was able to get a rtx 2070 8gb (because it's pcie gen 3 mainly), I was not impressed with the performance at all, valorant was hitting only 120-140ish fps, so I did an extreme OC to the 3400g push it to its limits from 3.7 to 4.15 (some have success at 4.2 but it kept crashing my pc as the vrms get extremely hot, I do have a corsair aio and temps for it has not gone above 80 celcuis ever even after hours of doom eternal (gpu gets hot sometimes reaching 82C but thermal throttling starts at 85 accoridng to some formus) also it has a terrible max ram speed of 2993mhz (this is extremely bad as this is technically considered OC, anything more and my motherboard bootloops until it removes xmp), paired with the terrible amd software which basically puts a yellow filter on my monitor for some reason
I spent soo much money back then building this pc which now sells for lesser than some OEM machines sadly, 3400g is selling for 35usd or cheaper, when I got it I paid almost 200 usd in my region. This part has basically wasted so much of my time and resources
DO NOT BUY A PART WHICH YOU WILL NOT USE. Upgrading a major component like cpu/gpu is basically a loss of both time and money, your other components in your pc ALSO AGE.
My recommendation just buy the regular 5600 as it's just 23 dollars more on amazon right now, 5600x is 22 dollars more than 5600 and the performance jump is not that great so pick 5600 as of now and pick a good gpu and a decent b550 or x570 motherboard (Aviod micro atx if you're not using a smaller case, routing the cables to a smaller board is much more difficult and in some cases the holes which mount for a bigger board looks odd) I recommend Nvidia as of now as they are constantly getting new drivers and their performance is not locked behind driver like Intel (Intel would destroy Nvidia if their drivers was perfect), and amd has a track record for not updating drivers especially the rx400/500 line which straight up does not have dx12 meaning some games won't work
In short : buy a cpu(5600), the gpu you want something like a rtx 3060,a decent motherboard all at once or save up, don't go into the business of upgrading you will ending losing valuable time and money

I want to build a whole nice benchtable PC with the Raijintech Paean M with only the 5600g on it cooled with a big 280mm AiO😂 love the overkill!
I want a really nice and cool PC but only for productivity no games! What PSU can you recommend for this low end build? I though of at highest 300 watts PSU when using only this CPU for my work!
I thought of a fanless PSU of Seasonic so the 450 watts is the lowest 🤔
5600G was looking like a really good deal! Especially since the gpu market is the way it is :(
Yep! In this market its something to consider, in the right circumstances

@@vimalvishwa2268 throw away the 5600g and get a dedicated graphics card. nobody should be using such a low performance cpu.
Congrats on your rig!

How's your PC building going?
I’m also building my pc around the 5600g

I did the same thing and very happy with it so far.

@@omegaPhixnot really.
@@slaydog5102 The iGPU performance scales almost linearly with RAM Speed. With 4000MHz RAM his fps would double in most games...
What a wonderful idea for your son! Hope he loves it and you have an amazing time building it together. Glad we could help!

Looking to build something similar, would you mind listing the parts you used?
Go with a 5600G. If you ever get a discrete GPU, you can sell the 5600G and pop in a 5600X. There's always a market for used GPUs.
I don't think it's a good idea to buy an used 5600g
I'm considering picking up either a 5600G or a 5700G to use for a new gaming PC to last several years, then when it's time to upgrade from them to a new build in the AM5 range I can use either of them for a home build media / NAS server where their integrated graphics will allow me to work with the system without a dedicated graphics card & they will have more than enough power to function.
Thanks Jason. Great info for me, being a quasi-newbie on such stuff. Although, I would watch your videos just to see your impressive evasive maneuver when that page turn thing comes at you. LOL.
Glad it was helpful! And yes, those page turns are always coming for me (;
Since I haven't built my PC yet (because I'm waiting for December to come around to see if I can get some of the components for sale), I'll probably pick up a 5600G for now then when the prices of 30 series GPUs drops, I'll just sell the 5600G for a 5600X

My original plan is to buy 2060s/3060 or 6600 maybe nxt yr.but
base on ur comment, i should not consider 6600.
Gen4 16x bandwidth = 31.5GB/s
Gen3 16x bandwidth = 15.8GB/s
Gen4 8x bandwidth = 15.75GB/s
Gen3 8x bandwidth = 7.88GB/s
Gen2 16x bandwidth = 8.0GB/s
So again if you must run a Gen3 spec system just buy a 16x card so you don't take a double hit in bandwidth.

But its possible we might see some deals on prebuilt or laptops which are good alternatives to building with a GPU right now
We have come a long way since the days of the first onboard video😉
Can we do best for ryzen 7 5800x please
completely agreed preferably with rtx 3060 ti would be magnificent
Any advice?

In regards to 5600G vs 5600X, it should be noted that the thicker infinity fabric on the 5600G allows for easier memory overclocking. A FCLK of 2000Mgz is easy and I’ve even seen 2200Mhz running 1:1 with DDR4-4400
In CPU-bound tasks like 1080p games with a 3080 (maybe even 3060) GPU this may make a difference.
5600g with 32Gb works better, IGPU can take more memory. I got MSI 750w PSU and whe shutting down pc it makes loud click noise, what about your 650w?

And VRM on this Msi B450 is also good for a 6 core 5600g
Thank you so much ❤️
No problem! Great little board!
maybe i too late, i use b450m mortar max now, no need for bios update and it run really well, except for modded arma 3 which sometime crashed hehehe
I went with a MSI Gaming Plus Z590 MoBo, I5 11600K CPU, RX 6600 XT GPU, G-Skill Trident-Z 3200 cl16 memory (16gig), A Teamgroup T-force Cardea Zero 1TB SSD plus a Seagate BarraCuda 2TB 7200 RPM 256MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5 and A750GF MSI MPG PSU. I kept my old Case which is a Nzxt White Phantom 410. Thank you so much for the helpful video's and Info. I'm saving to buy a nice Monitor now.
Congrats on the new build! It sounds awesome!!!
I went 5600g and 4400mhz patriot ram and similar motherboard for flash bios, the asus tuf pro s. I used the extreme overclock on the gpu and provided 2gb for the video memory.
I only really play one pc game and I get 60fps 1080p low settings with apex legends. Good APU :)
Im running the 5600g paird with 4x8gb 3200 c16. On a b450 asus board. With a rx 6750xT.
Super smooth.
There are very few such good channels on RUclips, who read every single comment, and then reply, so thank you very much, and want to tell people that we should stay connected with such a channel, where problem is solved, Once Again Thank You So Much Sir.
Thank you! It's getting harder these days but we want to keep it up as long as we can. We love it!
as a Roblox player that still gets 20 FPS, this PC is a beast
5:34 going with a 500TB drive, are we :) lol
It's newfangled alien technology!!! :) Honestly until this comment I didn't realize I said that!
Nice video. A little brave letting kitty be around while building. Little ball of static.
He's the one who builds the PCs! I just pretend to build them :-)
As of today the Ryzen 5600g is $128 on Amazon, its a great deal.
05:33 madlad 500TB
yep! Clearly needed more coffee while filming this (;
5:32 That 500 terabyte ssd sounds like the best deal of all!
Just discovered your channel, your way of explaining is very concise and I really love it!
That's great to hear! Glad its helpful and thank you for watching
Please do a video explaining Ryzen 5600g VS Ryzen 5650g and your recommendation between those 2. Thank you.
Hi. Is the 5600G still a good option? Amazon have it on offer right now. What is the max resolution it outputs? I have a 49” ultra wide at 5120x1440. Thanks.
This video really stuck out to me, I will probably build a pc exactly like this THANK YOU
glad we could help!
I built my 5600g after watching Jasons video on exact specs. Now its time to add a gpu.
Nice! Anything up to a 3070 will do you great. Check out our Best GPU for Gaming for more
@@PCBuilderChannel awesome thank you i was looking at rx6600
I find it interesting that virtually nobody I see building or working on a pc, on you tube, never uses ESD protection nor do they discuss it.
I built a system with the 5600g and a 3060 was just gonna build with no gpu at micro center went there to get the parts and they had a gpu! But I messed up though I should’ve upgraded to the 5600x while I was there, but I’m still super happy with my build!
Hey congrats on your 3060! Yep I recommend upgrading to a 5600x when you can but you're all set in the meantime
Im from Europe and this build is 850euros
And it is very good 🙂
Thanks, Jason!
APU builds are satisfying.
Best tutorial i've watched so far. I can't explain it but that's the first one i enjoyed watching it fully!
So great to hear! Glad we could help and thanks for watching
Quick question: should I wait for the rdna 2 apu or should I buy the ryzen 5600g?
I wouldn't wait for an APU build personally. GPU prices are falling and pretty soon there will be no need for APU builds.
Looking at a 5700g now 187$. I got a ryzen 3 3400g now. 3600 mhz memory has became pretty cheap too.
Man thanks to your advice. I literally save a ton of money with just the b450 mobo instead of b550. I invest it with other parts of the pc.
Fantastic! So glad we could help
I discovered Jason after deciding to finally learn about PCs during my Omicron isolation. Every video makes my day
Welcome to the channel! So glad you are enjoying. Stay safe!
Pairing it with a 6650XT shall give it a few extra years of life.
dude i lost my kity today was exactly the same as yours :( i saw the video for relax now i am sick as hell btw great video
You had to use the Borderlands 3 Benchmark in your video, I was just getting clean of playing it and now I'm craving it again. 🤕🤕
Thank You for Your video, Planned to build using this APU since I've finished my college and my 8 years old Laptop already worn out.
Gonna use it for some times while saving up for RX 6700 XT, not really care about ray tracing from Team Green
Glad I could help!
Thanks. Very useful info for making a decision, in a short and sweet format.
Glad it was helpful!
GREAT TIP ON THE rx6600! This is my first video on this channel and I just checked out on Newegg thanks to you. I've subscribed!
Glad we could help! And welcome to the channel (:
Just what I need! Thank you so much!
Happy to help!
Looks like This is my all time favorite. Great info. Now when is the next Boost my PC.
I built the 5600g with an x570 and couldnt get warzone to run. Driver timeout errors n gave up and put in a GPU from nvidia and now it works
Warzone is likely too hard to run at just about any resolution. It's a fairly demanding title. CSGO would run really well on the 5600g.
Nice Video well done
Things I like was you made it look simple.. which was nice.
Things I didn't like ---
Lifting the motherboard by it's CPU fan in the air to fit into tower..
Also the games you tested.
Ryzen 5600G Absolutely Fly in Battlefield at 1080P 2-3-4 plays fine..
Call of duty Modern warfare 2 Plus so so much more...other games Minecraft
CSGO all the fun ones and past ones..
The vibes are immaculate
We love to hear it!
5:34 bro really said 500 TB 💀, anyway overall good guide/pc build lv your vids keep up the good work.
Yep! Hadn't had enough coffee that day (; Glad you enjoyed!
Hey Jason, the Price for those Graphics Cards in Canada is between : $750 - $900.00 Cdn! I'm sticking/w the 5600G!
Solid choice!
@@PCBuilderChannel Thanks Jason, BTW: What does the ASUS TUF Acronym stand for??
