I just like lever. I hate that everyone keep telling me to swap to leverless. It just not as fun to play on. Also I just think that it's too complicated to execute basic stuff and it actually cramps my hand to play leverless.

Leverless controllers literally saved my ability to even play fighting games, i have a thumb issue so had to completely stop using stick, i have a mixbox and a haute42 M series, i love these controllers and they make movement so much easier and less strenuous on my hands, leverless and stick have different advantages, people hating just want excuses for being bad at the game

Used to play leverless but switched back to lever.
Why? I don’t wanna be washed up in the arcades using a control method I’m not used to.

i find it weird how fighting games are the only genre i play where using an antiquated tool is praised while innovating on something limited is frowned upon

A keyboard/all button controller is not at all limited but I see your point, FGC act like the "get off my lawn" old people alot and it makes it hard to further progress in what could otherwise be fruitful conversations

It's not the innovation people don't like. It's literally just superior, bordering on unfair for certain games. If there was a mouse that was just superior and easier for aim but not everyone could or would want to use it, it would become a problem in FPS esports just like hitbox.

@@arsonneI think a better comparison is a mouse vs a joy stick controller. On mouse you have greater precision when aiming vs on a joy stick bc you rely on your thumb to do the real aiming. To the point that every fps game has aim assist for controllers since they need the extra assistance to keep up with mouse and keyboard. I think players should use and learn what they like. I use lever-less since I always play games using a keyboard and all a lever-less controller is a keyboard with fewer keys, spaced out better and with bigger keycaps. You can literally do the same inputs on a keyboard.

I play pad, leverless and lever to a satisfactory degree. From what I've experienced with leverless, it is a king when it comes to movement. But I ultimately switched back to lever. Why? It's all about the ring finger. Everyone's ring finger is different. Mine is very dependant on the nerves of the middle. I can play p1 side very well. But once I end on p2, I feel like my skill dropped two levels. I could not adjust even after 3 months. I do, however, enjoy leverless on games that give simplified inputs like Granblue or perhaps even Modern controls in SF6.

As a 3D fighter person and on a personal preference basis, I just don't like the idea of controlling movement with buttons. Something about it feels wrong to me, though if I enjoyed 2D fighters more I feel like this wouldn't bother me in that realm for some reason.
My only ACTUAL complaint about them is I hate the pretty measurable mechanical/scientific advantages that leverless has in certain games. SOCD stuff really just feel like cheats to me, especially when there's already inherent timing advantages to being able to go from forward to back so effortlessly and repeatedly even. I know people already have been playing on keyboards for a while now, and I value these other inputs for people who have a physical limitation that prevents them from using pad/lever, so I've accepted it - but I really hope that game designers going forward with fighting games find a way to mitigate these input advantages between control styles in-game so it doesn't continue to feel like I will eventually HAVE to switch to leverless in some manner to reliably compete.

stick user. I think whether it’s keyboard, hit/mix box, the devs will have to address it if top 16s suddenly become only leverless users. IMO I believe pad may be strongest. The fact that w the slightest twitch of index or middle finger on one of the 4 shoulder buttons can get you a throw break, heat smash, rage Art, etc. there’s no time needed to move your hand across the face of the device, or need to press 2 buttons simultaneously. That’s not even considering 3rd party pads that have additional shoulder/trigger buttons on the underside as well

In terms of accuracy and precision/execution
      1) Hitbox/Mitbox/keyboard = most powerful
      2) Stick =powerful
      3) pad = least powerful
pad is the weakest option…sure there are exceptions but there is a reason why you see 99.99% of mishima players using stick instead of pad….yes stick has a higher learning curve than pad but at its highest level pad wont be as accurate compared to stick
the same way a stick player at the highest level wont be as accurate or precise as a hitbox/keyboard player ect
pads are the cheapest option for a reason

I don't hate experience player switch cause they know the strength. But as a seller I hate ppl always blinding choose leverless and tell me after switching leverless he is better 【YOU SHOULD CHANGE】, but tbf no you are not better you just FEEL better because you spend money on it. Input device doesn't apply game knowledge you still crack by fuzzy setup , also i don't want to change , STOP TELLING ME I NEED CHANGE! Sometime i really feel like leverless player is somekind of cult.
