The Biggest Side Effect you will have is wanting to share this with your friends. The worst part of it is that they wont understand and try to frame it with their antiquated understanding and explain to you that it is simply caused by calorie restriction. You will then get frustrated over many repetitions of this. :)

Add fats to your menu like olive oil, olives, avocado, avocado oil, coconut oil n butter. Try cutting your walking back to 1 hour/day instead of 2 hours. The more one exercises, the more one will lose weight, unless they increase their fat intake.

I'm just beginning on my IF journey. I've been a big guy my whole adult life; 350+ at my worst. I was down to 230 about 8 years ago. Then you find the love of your life and get comfortable, then you have kids, and you just lose yourself a bit. Well i lost myself a lot. I weighed myself the other day and i saw the scale reading back to me that I'm 282.8lbs. Heaviest I've been in about 15 years. Unacceptable.
After 4 days of 19/5(yes, i know that's an uncommon schedule) I'm already down about 3.5lbs. And while i understand that that isn't going to be typical, it was really comforting to see something immediate. Only reason i even got on the scale was because i could feel that my shirt was fitting slightly differently in the gut.
I hope my journey ends with me making my first goal, which right now, is to get back down to 230.

I am amazed how not hungry and how I think so little about what to eat next. I finally stopped thinking I have to eat because I might not make it long enough. I finally got it " Don't eat unless you're hungry. One meal a day was good. I was down to two meals a day. Now I'm down to one. I drink my ASV and make myself a keto lemon aid and I am just so happy. Thank you Thank you. I have listened to so many. I'm 70 and with part of my thyroid killed with radiation and had been fighting my weight for so very long. I am going to make it this time. I don't care about being skinny but I do want me back. I pushed through a week of not feeling so good. Now I am thinking clearly, feeling stronger and happy.

I started doing Omad in the 90s. My dad to this day only does one meal a day too. When I told people they would say I was lying because I had muscle and size. I'm glad science has backed it. I got in many debates even on RUclips when it first was created. Rashid has preached it for years. Even fasting I started doing water fast 10 years after I came across the book muccless diet by ehret...I think that's his name. I got in many debates about it's benefits and family, friends, and RUclips contributes debated me and said it's unhealthy. I'm still living lol and now they're on the bandwagon. I don't throw it in their face. Now they try to tell me about it lol. I was 290 lbs and lost 80 lbs fasting and using Omad. Now I'm doing Keto.

I healed myself doing a 50-day juice fast. I believe the body can self-heal given the right nutrition. It was really hard to only drink juices, especially while everyone was enjoying the Christmas holidays, and all the food that goes along with. The detoxing was brutal at times. But, I had a lump under my left breast that disappeared, regained the mobility in my right arm (I thought I had muscle damaged it, but it obviously was inflammation from the food I was eating) some suspicious moles fell off my back, and I lost 18 pounds. I followed Lou Corona's juicing protocol. Now that I'm well, I'm eating 100% vegan and feel amazing & doing Intermittent Fasting. I think the fact that I got so sick was my wake-up call to smarten up my diet. I don't know if I would have had the will-power had I not gotten sick.

    Dear Dr Berg!
Thank you so much for all your knowledge and generosity!
I have been intermittent fasting for a few years on and off. Even before I learned about the IF term. Everything you stated in this video is so familiar to me. All the cons and pros. Uric acid! Oh my word. I do deal with it for years now. No fun. Wish I had more information about it before.
A few month ago I all of sudden started experiencing pain in my hips after strenuous hikes. Have been consistently fasting since November and about a month ago I realized all my pain in hips is gone! What?!? All the fasting and cleaning up my diet including limiting red meat intakes really helped to reduce inflammation. Amazing!
Also, I remember you describing the physical conditions during prolonged IF and what happens to our bodies. I had exactly the experience you described. During my nine days of IF the first three were the hardest by far, but right after that I started feeling alive, rested, incredible brain clarity, lightens in whole body, little need for sleep, high work productivity, and many other positive effects.
Thank you again for all the info you continuously sharing with us!

I stopped intermittent fasting because I was losing to much weight. I stopped intermittent fasting and my seizures returned.
