Totally off subject, but I'd love to see a video on electrical outlet and cable management tips for those of us with racks. Like how to safely maximize the only two electrical outlets that are nearby without burning the house down for example...
Especially taking into account the fact that you want your lights on timers, and that the plugs for aquarium lights are generally too big to be able to make use of all the sockets on a power bar...

I second this. There's not a lot of content surrounding this plant on youtube. I just got some a few weeks ago. My betta loves it, and I feel like I could use it in every tank.
The tank footage for this video was just lovely! The plant, the hardscape, the purple snail, the green neons and the CPDs! I have tried the plant in the past but it died off... after hearing you today, I think it must've needed more light. Thanks for the info cause I think this plant is so cute!
I have a tiny bit of this plant and think it's so pretty. My snails and betta like crawling a swimming through it so much and knock it out of my gravel. I always find some growing at he top, among my rotala, Lol! So, I would like to try it on drift wood. Thanks for this video! Can we use super glue with it? Also, when you do any trimming and replanting of any of your plants, could you show us how?
Hi Joanna, I love this plant and penny wort they’re so nice and light and airy, I have to have them in all my tanks. Thank you for another great video.
Thanks for the info on Hydrocolye! I just put it in my new 5 gallon tank. I planted it, which was frustrating, all the planting of new plants that is, not just the Hydrocotle sp. First time trying live plants, so probably understandable, being frustrated, right? LOL. Anyhow, I didn't know I could do so much with this plant, so I'm very glad I came across your video today! Used as a floating plant the leaves that grow outside the water are larger and it also grows tiny whit flowers. I want to try using it as a carpeting plant…
I love it! Very different leaf shape and texture from my other plants. I’m going to look for some. Thanks, Joanna!! The platys may eat it, but at least I will have tried.
I am scaping a new 20 gallon soon and this is one of the plants that I was looking at...I was afraid to order it because of the "medium" lighting needed part. After watching this video, I know longer fear trying it out. Thank you for the info and the great content!
Thank you Joann 🥰Sweet plant ! Looking forward to trying it.To me It is so reminiscent of terrestrial clover. I love those celestial pearl Danios And the other small green fish right alongside them This will be the first video to let everyone know I am going to Aquashella in Orlando!🌟🚀❤️🔥💕😉😁😍🎊🎉 I'm so excited!! Think I’ve got this in one of my tanks! It’s a nice plant!! Quite delicate. Mine grows really slow, think I could do with increasing the light a little! 🌿
I'll be looking out for that I finally got stem plants to stay alive in my tank in Taiwan. I lucked out I bought some stem plants and I've been dosing them with liquid fertilizer twice a week and it's kind of a small tank but they sprouted roots and they're doing great I was hoping to kind of put them in with some anubias but my beta actually likes to push them around and move them to different places and he'll lay in them so I left it like that
im having a hard time with this plant. Took out all my hornwart that was blocking a lot of light. That may be the issue and having it in sand. So i may try it on rocks like your video. thanks for the help.
Beautiful video. Joanna could you give us a video on how to nanoscape the standard kit 20gal. These are inexpensive and so popular, I would like to set one up showcasing the nano world. Thank you
I have this plant, I love it! I started growing it in my 40 cube, my Rainbow Celebes dive in and out of it, I think they are laying eggs. I added the clippings to two of my 5g. I think I want to try growing it as a ‘wall’, think moss wall but this plant. It’s fun trying out different designs.
I see a trip to my LFS in my future! Question- How do you know when a blonde is to drunk to drive? When the tree they swerved to miss is there air freshener!
This also one of my favorite plants. Aside from the light requirements, I find it to be an easier plant. Even very small pieces will grow into a full sized plant.
Happy hump day! You know, I have always passed this plant up as it just looks so delicate. I figured I would kill it and be bummed. My LFS has some now and it is $4.99....not bad at all. I think I will give it a go. I will choose to buy some "life" over a Starbucks. Either way, the plant will stay with me longer!! 😆🤣
Now I know what this is! I found some scraps in a handful of moss I got from someone. I threw a bit in both of my tanks. It's definitely happier in the tank with more light (Nicrew planted plus set at 70%).
I actually just got a pot of this plant yesterday as I was looking for anything with the clover type look and the store just happen to have it in stock. I'm also trying giant hair grass, bronze crypt, and a crinum calamistratum for the 1st time. Live plants are amazing and new live plants are even cooler. Lol 👍👍
I think this is a very pretty plant and will be on the lookout for it. Where would you suggest I might order it from? Again, I love those beautiful snails...they all look so happy and healthy:)
I picked up a 1-2grow of these today because Ive seen them in alot of tanks and they are really cool for texture. I actually want to take out the other stem plant I purchased and maybe try a different kind. I don't know this might be wisteria but for some reason it just doesn't grow very well. It may need more light than I've been giving it but I noticed like it turns brown and then melts away and then it'll grow new new ones. Don't know if I should just throw the old stuff away and then keep the new ones and hopefully it's attached to the roots I have no idea
It's been on my bucket list for awhile, but I'm just now beginning to upgrade to some half way decent actual aquarium lights instead of clip on desk lamp lightbulbs, lol. It really does SUCK big time when you have to start all over again with literally nothing, not one tank, nor airline, or airstone, substrate, driftwood, plant or filter of any kind, NADA... when 3 years ago you had a designated fishroom that you loved. Anyway, boring story, it's all good and I'm happier than I've ever been. I am so impressed with your tank designs! I didn't realize the skill involved until I set up my own tanks and they don't look anywhere near as nice : P
That’s so nice of you to say, Brittany. It’s like anything else though, just find out what you like about any scapes that catch your eye and then play with plants! 🌿🌿🌿
I have not tried this plant yet, mostly because all the websites say you need high lighting and CO2. But you have reassured me, I’ll keep my eyes out for this one. I wonder if Petco sells them in those little cups? 🤔

Mine keeps dying. I bought it 2 different times and put it in 2 different tanks. Can't seem to figure it out. I love the way it looks but idk if I'm going to be able to get it to live
Love this plant but then so did my Mystery snails. Despite everything I read that Mystery snails don't eat plants, they decimated a lot of my plants. Huge bites out of my plants. A whole bunch of tripartita was eaten, so was a java fern and a rotala 😂 The snails are so beautiful though x
I like this plant quite a bit, but I've typically planted it in "groves." How did you secure it between rocks? The stems are so thin, I'd would think they'd come loose.
Hi! I usually just kind of hook them on a jagged part of rock or between 2 rocks. You could use my comb trick though - cut a piece of comb off and use the tines to tack down the roots in the substrate. ☺️
I have Hydrocotyle Tripartita in one of my tanks. The only problem I've had is that my fish tend to pull it up and it floats. I have other plants in the tank that don't get pulled up - so I'm guessing its because its a lighter plant that can be pulled up easier.
@@thesmallscape Joanna thank if Jason and you are going to Aquashella.... enjoy can't wait to see what you bring back... good luck in the scaping contest.
I HATE this plant. Its probably great for if you just want plants in your tank.but I put it in my aquascape with co2 and high light and it took over and covered my monte carlo carpet and was everywhere. Please be cautious usingthis in carefully scaped planted tanks. Not hating on the video though, love the video as always.
Drape it out of your betta filters it looks so pretty grows emersed and stops those high flow filters from blowing bettas around!

Velcro, reusable zip ties and a cube style power strip so you can plug in the bulky plugs with “Alexa” enabled timers.
Yes!!
