Looks very fun! I'll put them on the list of my next carvings. I thought of maybe carving a different face on the back side of each pumpkin, so the front and the back look different. As for the tools video, I think it would be great to explain the different types and uses of carving tools, especially if you keep it really simple. As far as I know, you can do everything with a knife, it's just easier and faster with some other tools. I own a beavercraft kit with only knives, and would be willing to purchase one or two other tools, like a v tool or gouge, but only if they would be used a lot. I would love to see any beginner friendly carves really, animals, characters or anything, as long as it looks achievable for us to copy. Great video thank you
Everything great. Your video skills adding the teachings. Suggest only reminder to us that you have very sharp knives and might be part of your results of cutting deeper and quickly in comparison with students and beginners and they should work on their sharping skills earlier in the video. But a great lesson and Sir BIG THAnKs again Johnny
I'm gonna do a deep dive video on tools, getting down to the nitty gritty on gouges, sizes, what they mean and what tools i chose to get. First i'm going to do a Basic tools video because i've had a lots of questions on what knife to start with. Give me a few weeks and i'll get a deep dive video up.
@t_mac6866 I used a Helvie roughout knife, a Beckwith Forge detail knife, and a #15 Pfeil V gouge. This could easily be done with just one knife though, it would just take a little bit longer.
What I like most about this video is how you put the finished carving on the side while carving. That really helps me. Pls keep doing that
