It is a preamp…. Not an power amp, nor an integrated amplifier. You do not bias tubes on a preamp…. ever…. And as a side note, preamp tubes last from 5,000 to 8,000 hours before they need replacement.
To Nick K: Tubes will start being due to be changed in the year 2050 at earliest. I don’t think it is worth worrying about it… Also, if owner of this preamp is a true audiophile, the tubes will have been ´rolled’ at least 10 times by then. I have owned tube gear for over 40 years… love them… I also have solid state gear and listen to both. Much enjoyment from both.
I just got one and agree about the valve with the led’s being naff so I unscrewed the led’s and tucked them under where the valve is out of the way not so distracting now,here’ the thing your hunch was spot on I removed the valve and it makes no difference to the sound it’s for show it even has a led in valve seat. Saying that it’s a fantastic sounding pre amp and as cheap as chips . I’ve got a box of upgraded valve coming from Watford Valves which will make it even better.
@@pokrog no it’s not related to the “real” tubes it only looks like it’s glowing because of a led in the base.Ive now changed the tubes and it sounds way better,thanks to Watford Valves.
I agree i went threw the same shit back in the late 80s with Japenese gear now look ! I still see thr m504 integra amp going strong ! Mine 504 is a gem but after replacing the filter caps i will never do that again but amp got the long tooth sound !
CPC gave money and still participates in every business. So, this is a coin with two sides. I mean that "people of China" would never stole enough to start copypasting all they can reach to. And we would never got know whether they are great or not. I think your appreciations can wait until people of China ruine most of US/Europe businesses, and prices will rocket up then. Even now you can see how do they use the pandemic to rise prices for logistic, aluminium, electronic components, etc (they reported China is clear a year ago, so...).
One should look at the overall result. Flat Tvs, refrigerators,air-conditioning, everything once reserve for the rich is now found in every household thanks to Chinese manufacturing. Has China invaded any nation?? (China only reclaims old terrorities lost during colonialism and Chinese Civil war. ) Africa gets uplifted thanks to China and soon Afghanistan Iraq will too. Thus it's not what they say as none of you mother f were there in regards to 90% fabricated propaganda.(Common sense says, "1.5 billion ppl with smartphones will scream bloody murder if they were suffering under ccp."). Thus it's always the betterment of mankind over the small minority screaming human rights abuse bs.

they have brought out an updated one without no tone controls looking to see how gd it is
I think it sounds very musical, wish there was less buzz/hum at higher volumes
i have no hum or buzz in my 728. have you uses others tubes.

i cant help but wonder if they put that tube in front and power it so it can be a replacement with matched use time if a tube dies

Can you connect a Turntable to one of the Selector ports? what is require to do so?
You will need to get a phono pre amplifier in order to use a turntable with this.

Still working, it's not bad pre-amplifier, actually is is pretty damn good! Just that bloody stupid window on the front.
