I have a complaint on the thumbnail: you went with the less popular Dr. Rabbit design, when the much older, more appealing, Dr. Rabbit design is better.
Its nice to have these history of ytp vids, as that same history is slowly eroded and destroyed over time as takedowns and copywrong render many of the old poops, their sources, and their creators as lost media. I miss the golden age.
The Only Mama Luigi Poop Anyone Has Ever Made will always be peak YTP to me, but One More Final I Need(RUclips Poop) is the rare instance of a YTP with emotion to it, despite still being goofy as all hell. WalrusGuy is a master of his craft.

Then there was the Walrusguy template, where sentence mixing, edits, and misc videos could be properly mixed to make something funny. When others followed Walrusguy's example, YTP became art.
I don't think he was as foundational as WalrusGuy or Deepercutt, but one YTPer who always sticks in my mind is TheChairman45. With his musical talent and fixation on AoSTH Robotnik, he almost feels like a proto-iteachvader.
Deepercutt and WalrusGuy was definitely my two favorites. My current favorite is Jimmy Davis. It was a different time. The old RUclips just felt so... I don't know how to describe it. It was easier to find the weird side of RUclips because the related videos algorithm was way more on-point.
Honorable mention to the folks who went out of their way to play Faces of Evil, Wand of Gamelon, and release all the cutscenes: Tabull89 and Izlude, also Nickshorts for the introduction of Dr Rabbit to the community.
You know, if RUclips could be sued for 2 billion dollars over unauthorized SpongeBob uploads, WalrusGuy being taken to court by Colgate over Dr. Rabbit is Racist doesn't sound that farfetched in comparison.

Great video series, thanks for making it! I'm genuinely surprised that something like this exists, given the sheer amount of content that was wiped from RUclips in 2009 or so. WalrusGuy, Deepercutt, and KroboProductions were the "big three" of YTP, at least from my memories from 2007/2008.

I remember when he was uploading these videos for the first time. It was like the youtube version of Spike Jonze (sans his music but matches the zaniness). A true legend of the OG youtube days.

That guy made HOURS of basically an Anime completely out of Edited Micheal Rosen Poems and Early internet Infomercials Its astonishing (Not to mention running a completely Separate Rosen Poop Channel in Parallel without telling anybody for years)

This was a fun watch! One to consider maybe could be SSBMExpert, they were making story YTPs before it was popular. I remember back in high school I had their Ice Cream for Dinner YTPs on my iPod. :P

Listen, I hate to be that guy but we gotta get our history squared. Walrusguy was the biggest pooper of his time in terms of popularity. But he wasn't as foundational. The real founding fathers are and always will be SuperYoshi ,Yaminomalex, retrojape and Dukeoffortuneman. As for the styles, yes to a lot of us now these old poops are primitive but people still used the same techniques. Earrape, buzz, sauce, glitches and random chopping were all there. Walrusguy just didn't focus on them. His claim to fame was the plot poop. Hell, I'd say ElectricTheCheeze was far more important to the scene, Walrusguy came after that. It's a bit of a shame that Walrusguy's popularity can erase a lot of that history.
I acknowledge that WalrusGuy isn't the first but it did not erase that history. Gathering info on YTP history is a nightmare because of how poorly it is accumulated and organized. SuperYoshi isn't even the first proto-YTP. Recently, people discovered tank2tanks' "Cow and Chicken Go Stupid" from 2001. There is supposedly also another creator named Stegblob who was creating proto-YTPs as early as 1998. I will eventually be covering some of the names you listed and clarifying somethings. WalrusGuy helped popularize YTPs more than anything but did help in arguably develop the canon.
@@BluShades For proto-YTP, I guess Martin Arnold would be as old as it gets. His old film edits where I think done in the 90s. Stegblob was one of the people responsible for the Adventures of Sonic explosion, he's very much a part of that 06,07 scene. I had no idea he'd been working on this stuff since 98.
