Batman could use his logic-first way of thinking and said “I’ll give you Lou Kang, but I’d like you to sit down and talk to me about something.” Raiden would have said “Very well, but first, release Lou Kang.” Of course, Batman would do so, and they could have figured out *something.* However, since it is the classic Warner Bros. and Netherrealm combo, they had to make the characters fight each other. At least it made for a good matchup
