    There are some really cool features on the M 50 that you neglected to notice! An important one is the self drive feature on the cameras. The car can park itself ( parallel) or by using its 3d capabilities can take over the parking and backing up in or out of a spot. As well, the car can change lanes by itself and although I have not tried it myself.
    Clearly the technology on this car is top shelf.

      @spoiler9112 Месяц назад +2

      The previous gen also auto parallel parks and auto backs out. I don't believe it can auto change lanes, however.

      Hi David, we unfortunately only had a limited time on this launch so weren't able to test every feature. But we agree - BMW's driver assist tech is brill. Have you sampled any of the brand's hybrids or EVs, which can automatically use the regen to slow the car down? They're very impressive.

    The boot space isn't as deep because the X3 M50 is a mild hybrid so there is a 48V battery taking up all the space

    Currently own a BMW F90 M5 and took my car into the dealer for the coolant tank recall. My loaner vehicle was a X3 M50. It was fun to drive but the interior felt cheap for a 70k (USA). Not a fan of the outside design and the widescreen computer screen dash. I would not buy one on the dash design and outer design but it was fun to drive.

    • @jonwear9791

      Definitely for 70k The interior has a lot more plastic than the Kia and Hyundai.

    I was in the market for an x3 m40i last year but the ride was so stiff and uncomfortable in comfort mode. It felt like a cheap car that was lowered aftermarket. I was really close to purchasing it but I just couldn’t especially when I plan to keep my car for 7+ years. I really wanted to dislike after seeing the plastic on the x3 30i but I thought I’d give it the m50 a chance and did a test drive and oh my god, the cabin is more comfortable and it drives insanely better than the previous generation. Yes, I have to agree there are more hard plastic than i’d like and I wish they offered an option to make it nicer. But I’m sold. I also really like the extra space as well and it looks way better in person than online. If you’re just online looking then it’s easy to form opinions, but once you test drive it and actually go in person, overall it’s not as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

    I'm new to BMW, and recently had the choice between the 24 and this new model. The choice was easy.
    The exterior design is bland and bulbous in comparison. The rear is ok, but no exhaust tips on the X3 30?
    The interior is a disappointment in terms of material quality and MANY lost features. There is no longer an option for carbon fiber trim or red seating, for example. Even the H/K sound system is inferior to the 24, according to DM Sounds. The interior of the 24 is just a higher quality, classier place to be.
    Overall, the incremental improvements in tech and engineering do not outweigh what been taken away as far as interior quality and features are concerned. I chose the 24 M40i, and there are no regrets.
    I would need to see significant changes to the LCI of this model to consider it in the future.

      @@spoiler9112 I had the 2022 model before the 2025. I can point out 2 significant improvements with the 2025 model. Firstly the suspension on the 2025 is far superior equipped with adaptive suspension. 2ndly the tires on the 2022 were run flats performance tires with a tendency to wear prematurely. Even with switching to winter tires in the fall.
      The lower section of the doors in the 2022 would get water and mud sprayed because of their design. I have noticed my lower doors on the 2025 stay clean and dry. The engine on the 2025 is more powerful, with 293 hp 428 for pound of torque.
      The 2025 model is overall more comfortable and has less road noise. I must say the technology is far more advanced and the new dual digital screen is far more sophisticated.

    • @spoiler9112
      @spoiler9112 Месяц назад +2

      @davidhwohlfahrt8370 Yes, the new model has a reworked suspension (far superior may be a stretch), but the 24 suspension is also adaptive. Most of the ride difference is because of the RF tires, which can be replaced with non RF when it is time.
      The new generation B58 does have more power and torque, but the vehicle is also heavier. BMW states 4.4 seconds to 60 for both vehicles. You may get a little better gas mileage if you baby the new engine, but it's not an issue for me.
      There is some new tech with the widescreen but all of it is relatively minor and simply not that big a jump from the 24. Many more functions are through the widescreen now (like a lot of car manufacturers) and are convoluted to get to. People still enjoy physical buttons!
      I haven't experienced the lower part of my doors getting any dirtier than any other cars I've owned, so I can't comment further on that.
      I know you're used to the 22 and were probably ready for something new, but having not seen either before it really just took me moments to decide. I have always craved having the latest and "greatest", but not this time. Again, the list of what's been taken away is long and frankly not acceptable for a vehicle in this class.

    • @jhelinski
      @jhelinski Месяц назад +1

      Did they really downgrade the H/K system too? I have a 22 M40i and it’s a near perfect vehicle.
      I also have noticed no longer ambient lighting on storage areas on doors and they completely left it off the rear doors. No opening sunroof (not sure why this is becoming a trend with others too). No vegan leather on doors and dash and the inlay options are laughable. I have a black open pore wood. The aluminum door badging is gone on the M50 and comfort access sensors on rear doors is gone. Rear seats don’t recline and headrests don’t fold down when not in use. Black plastic of headrests and seats looks so cheap from rear seat.
      The list gets longer and longer.
