Another great review Brian. I was hoping you would touch up on the quality of the interior and the full glass roof. That seems to be the biggest issue with owners of the previous version. Many feel it is a big down grade for what is a premium SUV. What are your thoughts on that?
I had a 2022 X3 with M package previous to the 2025 M50 and I confess that I never once used my sun roof while driving it, so the closed roof suits me just fine. As for the materials inside, I really love the faux suede and faux leather seats. My previous car had faux leather in Cognac so I didn’t think I’d like the black, but I feel that with the suede added to the upper part of the seat brings a visual layered texture that feels sophisticated not ugly:) I also believe that BMW spent a lot of money perfecting the technology and lighting effects inside the car, so if you think all of the technology is free well you better think again.
Great review. I know because I just landed into one. I agree with everything you say. Being from the creative side , I do not find this car ugly as a few people commented. On the contrary. Th i s car is very understated if anything. I can’t seem to take my eyes off of it when it sitting in the driveway. Mine is Dark Graphite in color. I do have two complaints however, I have a rattle in the passenger seat that’s very annoying and I have made an appointment to address. Also after driving 4 hours on a wintery highway in northern Ontario, Canada, I have noticed the back of the car tends to become a magnet for getting dirty probably due to airodynamics with the back being virtually flat. I really like everything else about it. When I have it in sport mode I think drivers around me take notice that it’s not just an X3 family SUV…
The engine and tranny is the only desirable feature of this new X3. I'm relieved I was in the market in time choose the 24 M40i over....whatever you call what BMW has done to this vehicle. The exterior is just plain BLAND. Less aggressive, less attractive. It has quad tips. That's it. The interior? Let's sum it up. It's something like a lit up candy store with a widescreen. Less quality, more plastics. The list of all the lost features is quite impressive, and not befitting of a vehicle in this class. This interior might pass on a high end Kia. Even the H/K sound system is inferior to last year according to DM Sounds. The interior experience is simply a downgrade. I'm tech savvy and love whatever is the latest, but being new to BMW and after experiencing both vehicles, this new one is a NO. Hopefully the LCI is a major improvement or I won't consider an X3 in the future.
Great review, but I agree with others, it’s pretty ugly 😢 (another example of the Germans trying to design for the Chinese market, where they’re failing and loosing market share badly). It’s pretty desperate for BMW to bring out something this ugly!
Love your reviews!! Thanks once again 👍👍
Thanks again!
Stylish family hauler!!! Great truck
And quick! And it handles!
Great looking inside and out.

Materials and fit and finish are on par for BMW, but we never really get into that stuff here. Those topics are better covered elsewhere I’m sure 😎

Lovre your matter of fact delivery. Thank you.
Appreciate the kind words!
Great review, Brian,
Have a super Xmas/New Year… and keep making these most enjoyable car reviews.
All the best. 🎄🎅🎁
Thank you, you too!
Filming an awesome episode today and I think you’ll enjoy this one!
Buy this for every reason but the questionable bland exterior looks. Last gen was better on the eyes. Engine is the best part of this vehicle.

maybe it´s a good modern midsize SUV but I don´t like the design of the car. Thanks 😀

Love the design .

BMW = Big Money Wasted.
Then don't buy it. And stop liking your own comments.
