Im really surprised that a member of the govt came on the show, so fair play to him for that. However he did absolutely nothing to address my concerns about the bribes Starmer is taking.

Great interview, a good grilling to try and get your questions answered, but he just couldn't do it, could he? One can only think they have to be loyal to whoever is in the Big Chair!!!!! @@jfro5867 you must also take into account his tax free pension he will receive from the CPS, I don't any pensioners who get their pensions tax free. I've just retired and I pay tax (not NI) on my pension and my tax code is higher than it was when I was working. I'm not at state pension age my pension is a company pension I've paid into for 42 years, just for context and I'm 60.

Glad I wasn’t fooled into voting for this lot. Utterly disgusting that one in five of the electorate decided the result of the election. This is how disenfranchised our politicians behaviour has made many of the voting public and you can see why. One rule for them and everyone else treated despicably.
I have no objection to it PROVIDING he pays 40% tax on the financial worth on ALL of those "gifts"..... But for the fact he is PM, he would not be given them, that means they are expressly a benefit in kind.

As a new PM, if you're doing this job for the right reasons you must make sure you are beyond reproach on every level. People are absolutely sick and tired of corrupt, biased and fraudulent behaviour in politics, and politicians acting out of pure self-interest. I'm talking Matt Hancock and the PPE scandal, profiting from a national emergency.
When you are in total control of laws, regulations and decisions which effect both business and daily life, you cannot be taking ANY free gifts as every decision you make will be looked at with scepticism and a lack of trust.
It just confirms for me what I already knew about these people. The fact that politicians in the US are openly allowed to buy stock in weapons manufacturers is beyond belief when these are the people who are supposed to be securing peace. I doubt our politicians are any more tightly regulated and they should ALL be audited.

He doesn’t understand what it’s like for us out here that now snd how unhappy and miserable everyone is. Everyone’s dreading the budget which he said is going to be painful. In the meantime, he’s living it up with freebies, while pensioners will be freezing to death.

I can totally understand Keir Starmer accepting advice over clothing brands from Waheed Alli, especially if his style consciousness is below par. But FGS, why would he let himself be 'owned' by someone for a few gifts ... Because let's not ignore it, that's the way the voters will see it. All accusations aside, shouldn't the British PM have enough humanity to be able to judge what this would look like to the voters ?
