99s will initially based out of Peterborough. This is more likely to be for the next batch of Class 69s starting with 69008, which are being fitted with Dellners and translator equipment for the GBRf Rail Services work (based out of Leicester).
There was talk of a heavy lift shed being built where those sidings were, make it easier and better to do engine work, bogie swaps, etc. As the current shed isn't properly suited to that sort of work.
my uncle was based here before he died, he was a driver, started as fireman etc to driver then went over to diesel worked from wellingborough and other depots in the area and finally leicester, it does look a lot cleaner now the 56's have gone to become 69's i follow smilevideo on youtube and he goes there regular as i live on teesside so only see video footage another excellent video Happy New year and all the best for 2023...
Thanks David - Happy NY also. UKRL recently purchased the freehold for the site (couple of years back) so hopefully they’re investing in it now and it’ll have a solid future 🤞👍
@@trainsplanes HHA wagons, and other similar types are often converter to 'barrier' or 'translator' wagons for moving stock around and in this case I suspect that could be the reason, as the ex-508/507 EMU coaches are there (in green) for a similar purpose!, it could also just have been a 'crippled' (broken/damaged) wagon shunted there until it's taken to a repair shop.
Great footage here pal 👍 look forward to seeing the next one just a quick one how do you manage to keep yourself out the drone footage and how close are to the depot area and station
Exelellent footage
Strange to see the depot so quiet. Will look out for your future updates on the site. Happy New Year.

Strange to see a 58 in here! Wonder what it’s there for, anyone know?

Wonder what they will do with all of those unmarked/unliveried locos in the future?
Most of the locos at Leicester are classes that would have stabled there in British Rail days (ie 37s, 47s, 56s, 58s and 60s)
Wondering why there is just 1 random HHA cutdown wagon next to the 58
No idea to be honest however someone could help answer why that’s the case..

It looks loaded to me, so I'd suspect it's developed a defect en-route and had to be marshalled out of it's train.
@@chris_A8502 yep got removed off a set at Melton mowbray a few weeks back and tripped to leicester and dumped!
Where s the 47 /8 gone🦺👌

Thanks - I’m always pretty close by, it just depends on the camera angles each time 👍
Building a new shed?
Yes - I’m pretty sure that’s the case however I’ve not seen any plans or drawings for it yet.
@@trainsplanes depot for rogs new 93s

It’ll likely all change very soon once the building works commence..
