  • A quick view over Leicester's depot on a bright early Saturday morning in May. The depot is quiter than usual but still showing classes 27,37,47,56,58 and 60's, a rare mix these days!
All footage is taken obeying all flight restrictions for the area, the category of the drone & in full compliance of the current CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) regulations for drone usage (May-23)

Good to see the depot from the air. Was not able to go on the recent Rail Riders trip to the depot.

3 class 50 GBRF locos,37's,47's,60 so quite a variation. New shed will at least give staff(and stock) some respite from UK weather !

Yes, always a nice variation. I am looking forward to seeing the new depot develop. Apparently, it's for a new class of electric loco

Bring back the roundhouse and the birdcage.

Birdcage walk is still there but the depot is practically hidden by the trees now. Used to be a great vantage point back in the 80's.

@@miniature-airlines no it is not. Demolished many years ago. The current path was cut out from solid earth several feet away from the railway where the demolished steel ‘birdcage’ walkway used to be. Totally agree about the vegetation. In the 60s there was a pretty clear view all the way from the end of the brick wall leading from swain street up to the start of the HOUSES which were Hutchinson street at that time.
