Congratulations on the amazing achievement! Even though the footage wasn't intended to be aesthetically pleasing and shared with thousands, it is in fact very beautiful and a privilege to watch. Thank you for sharing this with us, hope to see more footage from your other drones as well.
I saw this fantastic video (however, a little messy at the end), only a few days after reading the book “The ascent of Everest” by John Hunt, the leader od the British Expedition which, on 29th May, 1953, reached the top of the highest mountain on Earth. The two men who were the first there were Edmund Hillary, a mountaneer from New Zealand, and sherpa Tensing Norgay, a native guide from Nepal. In this video, the first view of Everest ocurr at 5.07. Obviously, the drone approached from the south-west. Therefore, it didn't show the usual route followed for most expeditions, vía the Khumbu Gracier, the famous and dangerous Icefall and the slow ascent along the Western Cwm, as in this video they are behind the Nupse, the long, narrow mountain at the foreground, whose saw-like summit, like a giant iguana, runs upwards to the right (to the East) to meet the top of Lhotse, the mountain to the right. In the center, behind the summit of Nupse -in fact two miles away-, is Mount Everest. To appreciate the scale of the view, Nupse is 7,879 metres high; Lhotse is 8,511 metres and Everest, 8,848 metres. The 3 mountains together form a sort of spiral massif, separated by a giantic geographical bowl called the Western Cwm, its bottom 3.000 to 4.000 metres lower. A closer look of Lhotse and Everest can be seen from 5.17 to 6.00. The depression between the Lhopse and Everest if the famous South Col. Every expedition, from the south (Nepal) or from the north (China), have to go the the South Col, there is no alternative, to the final assault on the top. From there, mountaneers have to climb another 1,000 metres, in a winding uphill distance of a little over 2,500 metres to reach the top. To see this video, was a little bit as reading the book again and understanding it a little better... Thanks, Russians!
Just flew a 20 pound science glider from 75,000 feet last week for NOAA and NASA. Lifted by a weather balloon. This powered flight is quite impressive. The flight duration and propeller thrust at this altitude is a big challenge and they did it well. Congratulations.
@@driftlesshermit Judging by the amount of snow blown off the peak (that "white smoke"), there must have been very strong winds blowing over the summit - which means the footage was done "off climbing season". It was clearly higher than Everest at one point, 9:20+, and it is clear from a pilots standpoint, that it was NOT a day to fly directly over Everest. The turbulence in the mountain waver that enveloped Everest on that day quite possibly would made the Russian drone into little pieces. Strong mountain waves are not to be trifled with.

At what altitude was the base camp / launch point located? With even a generous allowance for base-camp to the Everest summit, the base camp must have been an oxygen challenge for some of the party. We note you wisely avoided the treacherous winds of the summit. At 9:45, the quality of video dramatically improves-- did the first video camera have problems?
Everest is very intimidating with the cloud forming on 1 side, but the other peak does not have the cloud forming on 1 side. And it is almost as high as the everest peak.
I thought the drone was going to sweep over the actual summit so we could see the flags which climbers have planted up there. How did they stop the drone from icing over I wonder. Questions....
Gorgeous video which, is, unfortunately, damaged by the chyron(banner) at the bottom of the entire video, obscuring about 15% of the image. So unfortunate. I applaud my Russian colleagues but it don't need their name blocking the gorgeous video for the entire length. Most unfortunate and distracting. I guess the producers are worried about someone stealing their video. I suspect the chyron is the reason for so many thumbs down.
for Aslan its like a watermark so to say. Cant have others stealing this footage. This whole video is nothing but an ad anyways so it wasnt really meant to be a sightseeing tour for us regular folk. So many are not seeing the bigger picture here in that it shows how future warfare is going to go down:,( Much love human.
PLEASE for the love of god, when editing a video use matching frames ratios when doing slow mo, the guttering of the frame rates is nauseating. The accomplishment though was pretty awesome.

Do you think you could have made your lower third any bigger? We almost can't read 48PT type. Who wants to see beautiful aerial images of Mt. Everest when you can read SKAT SYSTEMS RUSSI / EVEREST / 9333?
Please consider removing the music from the video. It destroys the beautiful scenery. Just play with the natural sound recorded, if any, otherwise a silent one will be much better.
Here's a great idea to make money and save lives. Make money because a lot of ppl who die up there never listen to their guides. Create drones that can carry smallish oxygen tanks and vtol them to the people stranded at the top. Although I'm sure logistically this idea is probably unsound, I still think it's a solid concept.
The biggest issue would likely be the winds at that altitude. Drones like this aren't cheap, but then again, if someone is willing to pay tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars (as many rich tourists who enjoy mountain climbing do) to go up Everest, perhaps they'd pitch into an "insurance" fund to make them fly. Again, though. Bad winds or weather could crash this thing in an instant. It's better for climbers to accept the reality that they need to take enough O2 along, and turn back if they're climbing too slowly or burning too much oxygen. (I believe at least one climber has died going against the advice of a sherpa who said they wouldn't have enough O2 to go to the top and back)
Jon fritsch I thought it was way more than one who didnt listen. Cos I'm sure it's a constant battle for these guides and sherpa's to talk them into turning around. Most doccies there's always a few. Yeah I guess they can be expensive and unreliable in bad weather conditions. But who knows maybe, globalisation can help reduce costs and enable better materials and technologies to be utilized in order to achieve this idea.
I think a quad drone could do it. They would just need one at the base camp closest to the sumit. And it could drop the shots off for sure. The only problem is the wind. It would have to be made very large and powerful. I say a quad because they have 4 propellers and can hover in place
@@thomasp4764 I'm not sure of this but I think helicopter-type machines couldn't fly that high - helicopter ceiling is something like 25k ft. Something to do with the thinness of the air and limited lift - this has quite a big wing

Stunning photography, thank you.

Everest is very intimidating with the cloud forming on 1 side, but the other peak does not have the cloud forming on 1 side. And it is almost as high as the everest peak.
The wind was coming from left to right. This causes lower air pressure on the sheltered (right) side, causing a cloud to form.
Wow.Mt Everest world higest peak, Roof of the world.. Nepals pride❤❤
The ad at the bottom of the screen detracts from the video.
I thought the drone was going to sweep over the actual summit so we could see the flags which climbers have planted up there. How did they stop the drone from icing over I wonder. Questions....
we have these technologies
I now drink vodka with my cereal and have a babushka after watching this
Imagine some people at the top just look up and see a drone like wtf is this doing up here
Good job guys ! Next time the logo of the system put it somewhere up of the screen.
Thank you! This video we made for exhibition Dubai Air Show

Wow, piękna wycieczka i te zbliżenie do góry. Ciekawi mnie temperatura i wysokość nad everestem wyglądalo to niesamowicie. Pozdrawiam
Great video, where did the team film from?
From Spain my best congratulations for yours records and for the pleasure what you video has done to all viewers. Go Russia, go!!!
This would have been perfect if they trolled the people climbing up the mountain with it.
Nice jello effect you have going on there.
The wind shear approaching Everest looks pretty severe
Yes. The gusts 27 m/s - facebook.com/skatsystems
Also narration is needed at various points in the video to describe specific known locations on the approach to the summit and beyond.
Dear friends, this clip we made for Dubai Air Show for our stand .. facebook.com/skatsystems
Wow! That’s a great engineering accomplishment! Congratulations! The views of Everest and surroundings are astonishing! 👏👍
Thanks for your feedback

I am in love with everest summit as if it is a living thing not a mere pieces of stones ....
Me too, I'd go, the mountain would take me and I'd be fine with it.
PLEASE for the love of god, when editing a video use matching frames ratios when doing slow mo, the guttering of the frame rates is nauseating.
The accomplishment though was pretty awesome.
Beautiful video coverage
Thank you
A great mix of ambient & techno in your playlist!
We are glad you liked it!

When you think that the summit of the Everest was the bottom of a sea ....

Must have fought quite a headwind on the way back. Impressive!
America is better served by respecting Russia rather than fearing her.
Russia is better served by respecting Russia, not by interfering in its elections.
I've never heard Russia. If they ever mess with us we will all die , and we will feel nothing , that does not scare me. I have much respect for normal Russian people just not their dictator. Russian people like the people in this video are awsome
@@alyssaharley6666 Many Americans would help the world a lot if they just started to question their MSM, rather than blindly believe everything that is told to them.
Alyssa Harley sure. Like our gov. Hasn’t interfiere in almost all countries elections for decades 😝
Trumskies . The Russian establishment is better served minding their own f'keen busyness just because their mob is doing big things over here doesn't mean we're afraid of their military or that we should respect them . They don't respect any effing body not even themselves . fff ock them
I watch this again and again for music and song

Do you think you could have made your lower third any bigger? We almost can't read 48PT type. Who wants to see beautiful aerial images of Mt. Everest when you can read SKAT SYSTEMS RUSSI / EVEREST / 9333?
:-)

Bravo , fantastic mašina i pozdrav od Čechoslovakii !
Please consider removing the music from the video. It destroys the beautiful scenery. Just play with the natural sound recorded, if any, otherwise a silent one will be much better.
Thank you for your advice. But this clip not move. It's only video document for Guinness Book. facebook.com/skatsystems/
Have never seen such detail on Everest, that zoom in you could almost see the climbers

Pity though you could not see the summit.
Fantastic view amazing video ...well done thanks for posting.

Thomas P winds reach 200mph in the conditions that strand climbers. Would need to be a beast
@@thomasp4764 I'm not sure of this but I think helicopter-type machines couldn't fly that high - helicopter ceiling is something like 25k ft. Something to do with the thinness of the air and limited lift - this has quite a big wing
be nice to have an overlay of the altitude and airspeed and get rid of the banner except at beginning and end
Thank you very much for the advice abt speed and height. Abt banner - this video was intended for demonstration at the company's exhibition stand. Music and banner were superimposed in this way specifically for specific purposes.

loved the audio even more :)

Hahahaha
Its is made in nepal
Stunning! Evocative music. Would have been nicer with identifying the mountains with brief labels.
