  • Not long ago, Marisa Mae was living paycheck to paycheck, with maxed-out credit cards, no emergency fund, and constant financial anxiety. Now, she’s on track to retire a millionaire after learning how to pay off debt the right way and that fixing your finances does NOT have to be an agonizing slog like most personal finance influencers make it out to be. In fact, she paid off five figures in credit card debt, all while sipping Starbucks and still spending money on the fun stuff in life. But isn’t that BIG FIRE no-no?
After finding herself stranded with no place to stay, no money, and no hope, Marisa knew she had to make a change. But, the life most of the “debt-free” influencers were offering didn’t sound like one worth living to Marisa. They all talked about quitting everything fun, grinding day in and day out, putting every extra cent toward the debt, and NEVER investing until you paid the whole bill off. Marisa ditched this traditional debt-free advice and is better off for it!
Now, she’s showing everyone how you can become debt-free, build an emergency fund, start investing, AND retire a millionaire WITHOUT doing the “beans and rice for every meal” grind. Are you struggling with paying off bad debt? Follow Marisa’s plan, and you’ll be out of debt in no time!

I love hearing stories like this, makes me know I can do it. I'm 48 & I'm about $2K away from paying off my credit card. $5K left on my car. The CO. I work for matches 25% of the 401K so I'm at 12% now but I'll soon contribute more. My biggest obstacle sorry to say is my wife. Crappie job bit she loves it but her previous job she made double the money. We never fight over money but she doesn't understand money because she has me paying for it all. Great Content please keep it coming

I think you've got to get the wife to pay a bit, not half if she has a crappy job compared to yours, but enough to help her understand that money matters, and that what she makes and spends contributes to the hardship/health of both of you as a couple. Easier to build momentum when both people are paddling, versus one paddling and one is deadweight.

This was a great video. I have a friend that is neurodivergent and struggles with finances. Usually when I talk about money, they don’t feel that it’s something they can accomplish. Interviews like this might give people hope when they have felt like the story never fits their life. Thank you for this interview.

I even automated paying my property taxes monthly in advance. I never get bills, everything is automated even my charities.

So glad she kept it SIMPLE 💁🏽‍♀️Rarely have I ever seen anyone simplify an easier said than done Debt-Free Lifestyle. She used a great system to turn her situation around. It feels much better to pay off debt and ENJOY your finances at the same time. She also had a big enough WHY?🤷🏽‍♀️ Which makes a difference. Her Financial Meltdown was far too REAL! We must change our Mindset about finances and see our Self-Worth improving at the same time. Then DO THE WORK!!!! Rather than keep making excuses to not begin due to your income. Your Financial freedom is obtainable. 🤗 Just Do the WORK!!

My only son is autistic. He cannot have a conversation or manage on his own. Because he cannot express using simple language. This young woman is too articulate, resourceful and a fast thinker, to be autistic...

@stillhopeful7048 there's a scale of ability, with autism, some people are nonverbal and non functional, others are "normal" looking, but struggle with other things.

2023 was a challenging year, but I managed to make $100,000 before taxes as the sole breadwinner and head of household. It's a good starting point, but I'm always looking ahead on how to improve. I have 2 autoloans and hoping for a miracle to offset them as refinancing is more expensive in the long run.

Always have at least one car paid off. Reducing expenses is the same as raising income. Hope the spouse is good about staying on a budget if they don’t work raising the kids. Congratulations!

I have a daughter who is actually autistic. This girl calling herself autistic just because she feels anxious sometimes is insulting.

Good to see a fellow Canadian on the show. This inspiring to make more videos about living with a disability chronic illness on a journey to finally independence and along the path I will transition off Ontario DIsability Support program. Working when I can and studying the policy of disability benefits has shown me yes I can make my own money. that money I make is mine to spend, invest and save. The money i get from disability is their money and I only get it when I keep my income and assets below their limits. I can't chase two rabbits I want to become wealthy so that means making sure the money I make is managed well for my present and my future. Many on disability don't understand that if you want to improve your quality of life it requres work and managing your money wisely.
