Great review and set, Grohl is one of the best Technic designers! You didn't mention one con at the end thought- the lack of a B Model will forever be a con. Also really nice to see Alvin in a review already! :D
The frosted headlights are a strange design decision for sure. Also, those new CV axles are very interesting! Many small Technic cars have had to use live axle suspension in the rear due to size limitations. Maybe we'll see more Technic cars with independent rear suspension in the future! EDIT: This CV axle would've also allowed the F150 Raptor set to have 4WD without increasing the width.
It would be cool to have rims like in the Ferrari Enzo and Fiorano models. Otherwise, it looks pretty great. Compromise, between "huge" expensive set and something small. I like that the model is in the segment that it is.
This set truly deserves 32 out of 35, just look at the new parts, new recolors, and rare colors you get, then it has a lot of functionality and it looks great.. what more could I ask for? maybe a moving cabin steering wheel along with keeping the hog dial but that's about it
2:59 New CV joint piece is good but not single one. You can cut it in half and ta-da! It become extremely usefull. Actually, Cada make 2.5L CV joint which also can make 5L joint if connect with exist anti-axle CV joint. 5:02 3x11 2 hole curve panel and 5:31 2x3 panel paring is already come in 42147 but looks like this video taken before upload 42147 video. 5:51 Liftarm 5L in dark blue already came in 42112(2020), 76166(2020), 6620(2006) and 8623(2004) 15:41 You forget 42111 dodge and 42126 F150 is also 1:12 Other than that, still great review! I can't wait get one.
I think the HOG gear could also maybe have been placed somewhere a bit less obvious, above the engine for example, but the car itself does what the Ferrari and Porsche did, but better, more compact and cheaper.
Now that lego has expanded the ford license they should make a ford bronco which will be in the same scale and be a successor to the 42110 land rover defender
I really, really like this set. It looks great, has a surprising level of functionality and at an affordable price point. Much more attractive to me than the $400+ supercars.
I'd love to see if it's possible to link the rear axle to a mechanism that engages the spoilers instead of the manual lever in the cockpit! That'd be so cool honestly
This model has captured some really nice shapes from the real car, but it also misses a few key ones which is why I think it looks kind of good but still weird. The problems are very noticeable in the side view comparison at 16:03. I don't agree that the wheels are too small, they look ok to me. But the arches are too big, which gives the same impression if focusing at that area. But the main problem is basically the rake of the car. The real one, apart from the rear end, has many teardrop lines that taper DOWN towards the rear, while the entire model is made wedge-shaped and therefor sloping UP towards the rear. The roof line, the side windows, and the rearwards extension of the top of the front fenders should all slope in the opposite direction. Also notice how much of the headlights that are visible from the side on the model, compared to the more forward-facing ones on the real car. This all makes the model look very clumsy and bubbly compared to the sharp and pointy style of the real thing, I think. I want to like it, but I just don't. I mean, it looks good, it just doesn't look enough like the thing it's trying to be.
I have the Bugatti Chiron supercar, I'm looking at it right now - and for something as expensive as it is, it is still very gappy. Let's be honest, most of these large (1:10, 1:12 and 1:8) cars are only going to be display models (*cough* dust models *cough*) so having all the basic functions but looking good at this size and price point makes it much better than the supercars. Also, colour is everything, and I finally think that they released a car in the right colours that live up to the iconic way that people see it.
I recently got 2 pet hamsters. I’ve just been afraid to put them in LEGO sets because I think they could run away. Have your hamsters ever tried running away after you filmed them exploring your technic set, or do they always stay near the set? Also I haven’t seen a set rated this highly from you in a while
They usually explore the set and then its surroundings. I have to make sure they don't fall off the table, but hamsters don't run that fast :) I also make sure that my hamsters are well tamed and comfortable.
at 930 in your build I see a black cylinder near the steering apparatus. where does it say to put that there , im at 174 of the steps and I dont see that anywhere
What I like one the real car is when it gets in sport mode it lowers, I would had expected the model to have lowering suspensions too but we can not get everything...
I would get used to the too small wheels in sets - this is LEGO's recognisation sign- in the end only the worst of the mentioned sets ( ferrari sp3) had proper ones...- and probably by the (another) mistake😎🤪
Great detail review as always. Ford GT looks great but unfortunately don't have gearbox. Even a simple gearbox as ATV can make alot difference. Btw, it still look good puting side by side with Ford Mustang & Ford Raptor.
It's a good looking set, I'll give y'all that. But I cannot get past the doors. I do know that there are some things that cannot be done, given various constraints on design. Yet, the doors essentially open in the opposite fashion to the real car. You're all aware of this, I'm sure. The real Ford has dihedral/butterfly doors. The lego one opens up, yes, but then the door is rotated outwards instead of inwards. I dunno, I'm not a pro and I have not bought a Technic set since the Porsche RSR. I simply can't afford it anymore!
Great technic set, but it just looks off to me. The windscreen connection to the front hood, the roof, the engine cover, the whole rear, all these angles makes it look like a cool car but not definitely not something that reminds of a new Ford GT. And let's not talk about the headlight panels. Also, why no Ford GT40 damnnnn
I think at least on the advertising pictures it is the most beautiful of all Lego Technic car models of any scale, unfortunately I mainly collect trucks and that would hardly be possible in 1:12. At least I can say that the ZR tires don't fit on any truck.
This set is very tempting to me but I still cannot really overlook the fact that Technic cars still cannot find a good solution for (even a suggestion of) a windshield.
I just finished watching your review and I have to say, I totally agree with you on those headlights, they ruin the set entirely for me, I think if I were to purchase the set then I'd have to change those lights out they just look really ugly.
It's pretty good but i also agree with you Looks wise some parts are shaped really precise and Well and some Others parts (Like the while Front end for me) Just Look weird or in this Case too round compared to the real car But Overall i Like it
"quite complex but in the end don't look much seat-like" I think that sums up the whole car to me honestly. It's very dense, very well build, has decent functionality, but visually it's off all over. The front is just bad imo, and the characteristic swooping body panels at the mid-rear are clunky at best, barely recognisable from certain angles. Been hoping for a ford-GT of some kind for a long while but this is a bit of a dissapointment.
Super, z ciekawości zapytam, ile modeli aut posiadasz? Takich jak właśnie ten ford, czy porsche itp. ? Wyobrażam sobie taki pokój z dziesiątkami modeli lego złożonymi i poustawianymi. Super sprawa.
This one really struggles in the looks department. Its too stubby and chunky and the rear including the “flying buttresses” are a mess. The Ford GT would have been brilliant in the Icon series. Another miss along with the Mustang and the NASCAR model.

Wow, this is one of the highest rated sets I’ve seen on this channel!
so excited for the new pieces and recolors ! All hail technic pieces in dark blue !
This is going to be my first Technic build and I'm really excited
Have you finished it yet?
@@peteyprimo7173 Oh yes I finished it in about a week. It was the most difficult LEGO set I've ever built. I loved it.
Thanks Sariel! I have been waiting for this review since I saw the sneak peek of the new sets, looks cool.

amazing review as always grohl has been making great sets!
I wasn't sure about this set when I first saw it, but after seeing some reviews and looking closer at it, I think I definitely need to pick one up
32/35 stars?! Definitely a recommended set!!
Wow, I don't think I've ever seen you rate a Technic car so highly. I'll definitely pick this one up.
If only Milan designed a 1:8 supercar... now that would be awesome!
Great review Sariel, happy to hear such positive words for this set.

In my idea, Lego is trying to revive the 1:13/ 1:12 line, once used by the Dom's Charger. Which is good, cause 488 and RSR were too damn expensive.
Yeah for just a couple hundred more pieces there was a massive price difference
and now the excellent Peugeot seems to be confirming my theory. 1/10 scale for Race Cars, 1/12 for the road cars, and top of the line 1/8
Doors are seamlessly perfect 👌
At first glance, it looks like a MOC. I quite like that
Brilliant work bro 👌.
I'm waiting for your video

Just got this set. 😻
Looks pretty good except the headlights you mentioned. Especially in this price, which is not killing in presale. Thanks for another great review!
Thanks a lot for a review, been waiting for it impatiently
My best friend's birthday is on the fourth of April and I _really_ want to get him this!

I have the opportunity to buy a new one for 90€ but I wasn't sure if it's worth it. Now I know it definitely is.
Great job. The set looked fine when I first saw it, but I'm surprised by good it turned out.

If you think about it, where will the restrictor be after you move it enough and keep moving it? There might be not enough space but we can try.
@@saulgoodmanisreal I agree with you but hopefully someone could come up with a solution
look closely at the springs, they are different depending on color.

I'm deciding which one is the best Land Rover defender or this Ford gt and which is worth the money 💰
19:37 it's not ford gt40 because it's a tribute for last real Ford GT which was produced in 2022, that's why it's called Ford GT 2022
Looks great ! It is a Forza Motorsport 6 cover car!

But shouldn't an Impreza be regular blue?
@@searme I definitely see it dark blue with golden rims. The regular blue is not dark enough and to bright for me. 🤔

15:33 - Does anyone know what the scale of the Technic figures is? I calculated about 1:16 but I can't find an official answer
