Thank you so much! Mine was dead, the key turn to the left and then the right allowed me to start the engine over!! Wasn’t sure what I was going to do. Appreciate it
I hear ya. But I noticed many cars that are driven ‘regular’ have less issues as all mechanics are being well used and oiled. If your lucky to have a temperature control garage that certainly help - I wish I did!!
@@zakmirza Thanks for the replaces. Yes garage is heated and tempo controlled. May reach out to you if I have any more questions on the GT. Your videos are very helpful. You should get into old American muscle cars and Mercedes. Could us advice on them as well. Haha. Cheers.
More than welcome to ask me to record/share any content about GTs u might be interested in - my channel is about trying to show ppl GTs are not as expensive for difficult to live with. Wish I had space for more cars though!!!
I use the Bentley branded charger, because I am a total car fool, I leave it connected for weeks at a time, and it automatically goes into rest mode after my batteries are topped off. I have a couple of 911’s, and a Cayenne, that are always on the Porsche branded version of the same charger, and they all work perfectly. These chargers which I presume are all made by C-Tek, have been great, and I was very happy with them until some one stated in “comments” that they are made in China. Now I have my doubts, lol. Everything I have bought that was made in China, either breaks prematurely, or otherwise fails early. I am going to try to eliminate China in my life, as much as possible, other than egg rolls and Chop Suey from a good Chinese restaurant if I find one.
😂😂😂 thanks for your comments! Yes they say it’s sensible to leave your cars always hooked up to these chargers. Sounds like you have too many cars - let me know if you want to find a new home for your Porsche’s 🥰
My second Porsche C-Tek charger is doing a good job. Despite from China. My stepfather used to work for Bosch in the starter & generator department. You would be shocked about how much is actually coming from China. All the starters & generators are assembled in Hungary. In fact Bosch sold a couple of years that part off to a Chinese company. They start to close down the last German outposts in Hildesheim and Stuttgart…
Oh really? Guess far cheaper to manufacture in China. Not a bad thing so long as it’s built to specifications and QA. Sad for the European industry though
Interesting Mr Bond. H R Owen were very helpful and knowledgeable about these. I acquired a 2010 Final Series yesterday and now have to find a charger. Charger easy thanks to you. I also need the line which goes from the charger to the input in the boot. H R Owen say that Jack Barclay may have one. I'll update . PS Yes I know it's a 2009 but it was registered in 2010!.
I have found that by using two trickle chargers all is taken care of. The ones I have start on a repair mode should you need i (E-Bay).Most chargers will not charge when battery below certain point that is where these come in handy as they start from zero and repair first !!!
I’ve been using CTEK battery chargers for years, I had need to find out the current draw on the 5amp one, so I wrote to the manufacturers, They are not American they’re Swedish, a fantastic 3 page A4 reply on everything about them. Hence knowing that they are in fact Swedish.
Ahh that’s good to know, at least it seems the right choice compared to a double the price ‘Bentley’ rebranded one - which strangely looks like a CTEK!
Ahhh if u have the next facelift model, 2011 onward I think, they have the connector under the licence plate for charging. Not like on my one. Either way, best to get one as that can help start your car if your batteries are low too.
@@zakmirza yes I have also 2 batteries and the Porsche charger is from C-Tek. All is good. Very busy. I took finally the business over. Hope you are ok too
I plug mine in to charge into extension cord. I also have the cigarette adapter. How do you use that to charge it. There is an outlet in the trunk, does that have constant power?
The power outlet in the trunk is a 12v source. You would use this to power items. With this trickle charger it is connected up to the main battery and ensures it’s healthy and charged up. These cars use a lot of electrics hence need to ensure both batteries are in good condition.
No. The trickle charger only connects up to one of the batteries. You would have to check and get the correct type for the other battery. Worth checking the age of both batteries in case they are old and should be replaced. There is a sticker usually on them; if not, then it’s probably due to be replaced. Thankfully the are not super expensive.
@@zakmirza Thanks Zack. The seller I bought from told me they replaced both batteries. Each time I start it a warning comes on and then I have to turn left and then right again for it to start.I just picked up the CTEK 7002 12 Volt charger. Will do that and see. Lots error messages coming up so will take to local mechanic who’s specializes in Bentleys to get a overall check up done
Maybe you haven’t been on a long drive so both batteries might not have reached full capacity. Depends how often you drive too as they can drain faster especially if the weather is cold. Hopefully those errors once cleared off are nothing major and down to such low charge - I even get a ‘drivers seat’ error sometimes on mine when I plug in my diagnostic tool but no issues (see my other video on VCDS)
So when you charge up the main battery with trickle charger does it automatically charge the other battery too. As I am starting the car in the cold days it’s saying battery low please start battery light will stay few seconds then it will go away
The trickle charger only charges the larger battery. If u are having start up issues check the healthy and state (capacity) of the smaller battery (the starter battery) as that might need to be replaced. Also if u are having start up issues put your key in the ignition, turn it left once then turn right to start the car. This takes load from the larger battery to kick start the car. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching.

Hi thank you for making the video but where do you connect the battery to the charger how is that connected
The charger will have two clamp adaptors that you connect to the positive and negative on the battery.
