    Great video Matt! I heard you say that you are doing Bachelor of Psychological Science with a Criminology major. I will be attending the uni next semester for the same degree. I would like to pursue Forensic Psychology so that major interests me a lot. Could I personal message you somewhere or could I ask a you a few questions here if you don't mind such information being available to the public haha. Cheers.

    Hey! is it easy to make friends at UNSW? also what do you think about the faculty of arts/ general facilities offered by the uni? I'm considering coming to UNSW and would really appreciate your two cents on this! p.s thanks for making this entertaining video, I wish there were more UNSW videos on youtube.

      Hi , thank you for your support and kind words! I would say that it is often very difficult to make friends in uni just through tutorials and lectures. I do have a very solid friend group because I decided to join societies and a sub-committee in particular. Joining a society not only gives you a lot of transferable skills that you can put in your resume, it also allows you to form quality relationships with people easily. But yea, the facilities at unsw are quite nice, I am personally not sure about the arts faculty because I’ve not done an elective in that field but unsw is such a community and the campus is beautiful and lovely to both work and relax it so I would highly recommend it. I don’t think the place is very competitive academically which is also a plus too

    Hi, I really love your videos and how informative they are!! It's really helping me prepare for what it is like in UNSW since I'm planning on going there in 2024. I just have a quick question, I'm planning to take a Bachelor of Arts with Psychology as the major. Is it different from studying Bachelor of Psychological Science or is it the same? I hope you could answer but it's really fine if you don't know either ^^;;

    • @matthewandy3043
      @matthewandy3043  2 года назад +2

      Hi ! Thank you so much for your kind words, I really appreciate them.
      In regards to a Bachelor of Arts with a major in psych, you do most of the core psych courses but skip some non-essential courses just so you can fit in your arts classes as well. It is a different faculty completely but the degree should be quite similar. I would recommend going to different seminars and webinars before you apply so you can have more updated info tho since I am no longer doing psych sci as I’ve transferred into psych honours and law

    Hey, I saw from one of your comments below that you're studying a bachelor of psychological science, which is what I currently have my eye on as a year 12 student.
    Some people have told me if I don't get into a bachelor of Psychology (honours) at UNSW (which I wont :/ ) then instead of taking alternate routes to studying psych at UNSW (like a bachelor of science/psych sci), I should try to get in to Macquarie or some other uni because it's hard to transfer to psych/get honours (which is required to get into your masters n stuff). I was really set on going to UNSW though and I really want to do the psychological science course.
    Do you plan on becoming a clinical psychologist of some sort and do you regret choosing this course in any way?
    Thanks for the informative video!

    • @matthewandy3043
      @matthewandy3043  2 года назад +1

      Yea, I am currently studying the bachelor of psychological science. I do not agree with whoever told you that it is better to go to another Uni if your end goal or dream is to be at UNSW. UNSW has an amazing internal transfer program which allows students to go from one degree to another as long as you have the required “WAM”, w for psychology honours it is currently a 75 (credit average) which I don’t think is too hard to get when you put in effort. On the other hand, even if you don’t get to transfer in the first year, the bachelor of psychological science is still ACAP accredited and has its own psychological science honours program which could lead you back to a clinical/organizational/ forensic masters in the future. For me, I want to go down the clinical path but I’m keeping an open mind Atm.

      You should always choose your preferences on UAC based on 1. The course 2. The uni. Because the way different universities structure their programs and the uni culture really does affect how much you enjoy your degree. For now though, I would say good luck to your exams! Don’t give up, it will be over before you knwo it man!

      I personally do not know what it is like specifically for international students obviously coz I’m not one. But your timetable and schedule isn’t actually any different to the normal student and we definitely do have time to manage a part time job as well. I currently work 24 hrs a week along with full time study and I still have time to hang out with friends, is it stressful? Yes, but it is definitely worth it
