Didn't expect the airplane to win in an airline company's video...
TheRUclipsGuy, George Pearson. Well obviously, why would they upload it if the car one. And anyway aircraft is the fastest mode of transport. They showed us the times anyway. I dont know what your problem is with them making the video?
@@bradf2803 You missed the joke.
Odyssey 80 i dont really find it a joke tbh
@@bradf2803 Good point, why would an airline upload a video when they get beaten by First Great Western's 125 train.
@@ironmantrains what do you mean, the airline beat the train. Aircraft is faster than rail anyway

The veyron race
They're literally copying the exact blueprint of Top Gear, but with nothing really going on, just going from Exeter to London
I wish Hammond, Clarkson and May would've done this. It would be funny. It would still be scripted as hell, but you'd have an enormous laugh.
They did it on the new season of grand tour

Goodbye flybe. It was nice knowing you! Although I’ve never flown with you, I remember the JustPlanes DVDs. I express my condolences to all of your employees.
They back!
I’m glad they are back. I see many flights every day from belfast (; a lot of options from here

flybe? more like flywas
That’s my line
R.I.P Flybe
Train by far the best option. Goes at least hourly, can work on it and/or get phone and Wi-fi to watch i-Player, more room, can walk about, better choice of food/drink (even a Pullman restaurant on some trains!), more reliable....... Flybe goes once per day at Silly O’Clock and doesn’t return ‘til early evening, plus is often delayed or cancelled. FlyMAYBe. On the train you can come home early, or stay late, see friends, etc. And at only 10 minutes longer, a no brainer.
Alright dont cry about it
I though he was flying to Heathrow, then the train would've been the fastest
Not exactly because he could get Heathrow Express.

They forgot to mention security and that you have to be in the airpprt an hour before.
He didn't have any luggage
@@vertiquee you still need to arrive about half an hour before Boarding (so one hour before departure) and go trough security
*Half hour
Well you can’t do this now😂🤣
This feels like something they would do on Top Gear.
Trains are much cheaper and is only 12 mins slower. whats the point in taking the plane!
Because planes are better in general.
Zac Spooner and planes are more exciting XD
It's cheaper for me to take the plane to london (I live in thr Netherlands). A one way ticket on the eurostar costs 49 euros and the ride is 3h and 40m long. A one way ticket on the plane costs 24 euros and the flight is 1hr and 20m long.
Nah, train can be over 3 times as much as plane in the case of London to Manchester
Train is a lot more expensive than plane actually
fastest way from A to bankruptcy
WHO WOULD DRIVE INTO LONDON
Not super realistic though...who goes from Exeter to London without any luggage? Adding one checked back makes the train an easy winner. And what about cost? I suspect the train would be the winner for most real scenarios here.
well, sorry but not anymore
And comparable costs? A car is always going to be difficult in central London. I really enjoy the slightly easier journey by train. I struggle with planes due to disabilities and have to take medication before using one. I don’t have the same problem with planes. Also can’t use stairs/steps anymore. There are always ramps available at most UK train stations.
I'd take the plane, lovely views, who wouldn't like to be on a plane!?
True
I would take the cheapest

There is nothing glamorous about flying small seat small window cramped crap.
Flybe you do know the dash 8s are like a cattle truck
*cries inside* I'm going to miss those flybe q400's
yes I know that eurowings do operate them but theres somthing about flybe that make their q400 so recognisable
Omg you need photo id to do domestic flights in England! Here in New Zealand: Show me your ticket...Ok here's your boarding pass. NOW GET ON!
Thats how it should be !
From Exeter, just get the train to Waterloo 😂
"Didn't take long" Yeah right how long was he delayed for?
Official Love2Fly lol this is flymaybe you never know.
Clearly Jonny didn't have a 4 hour delay... And miss half his day in the big smoke. But then, even if he did, they probably cut that bit out!
Oh what had we expected from a channel named FlybeOffical??
Bye Flybe 😢

R.I.P. Best airline ever
This video proofs to me that the train is the best choise. With the train you have an hourly frequentie and the plane can't do that. I have notting againgst Flybe but there ticket prices are high. A roundtrip Rotterdam-Manchester €80. Ryanair ask €30 for a roundtrip Eindhoven- Manchester (Eindhoven is further away than Rotterdam) . I understand that Flybe is more expensive than Ryanair but the price difference between the two is to big.
Sven Hueber But at least its better than Ryanair 😂
This is stupid, it doesn't work because for a fair comparison its door to door time, so need to leave at the same time.
Added to the fact that flybe are a terrible airline who are incapable of being on time this means the train is quicker.
Edward Thorne LOL.
It's absolutely a fair comparison. It's not about who can leave the latest to arrive for a specific time, it's about the absolute fastest time from point A to point B. If anything, it's fairer that they are free to choose what time they leave to maximise their chances of getting there quicker. Sorry for the late reply btw.
"Incapable of being on time", despite being in the top 20 for most punctual airlines in 2015 and in the top 10 in 2016..For the world..Your claim sounds legit there...
Never mind the fact that Paddington to Charring Cross is soooo much faster than London City to Charring X
I prefer to take the train
Well, the train wins because, it still operates today.
The most ecological is the train by far, so those 10minutes doesn't make up all the waisted energy !
Remember that in the next few years the current trains will be replaced by electric ones
i know everything about airliners
Kevin Bruggeman well actually, you are wrong. Do your research. Thank you :)
@@pingu255 a study from the german university of Aachen I think it was, showed, that the poor utilisation and enormous amount of infrastructure needed to run a train network (heated rails, thousands of lit up stations etc.) gives the train a combined amount of CO2 per passenger per mile, wich is actually beaten by the planes, using the same index to calculate CO2. It's not only what the vehicles actually "burn", there is more to the equation. To be fair though, if the route is less than 450 miles, the plane can't beat the train, as it becomes more efficient when there is a longer cruise in relation to the duration of the climb. For everything over 450 miles though, contrary to popular belief, the plane is the best way to travel.
And we are making Energy for trains from coal also many airlines has already order electric or hybrid planes and if thwy dont they use biofuel btw i think that trains was much more enviroment unfriendly when they was the same age as a plane plus aviation makes only 1% of world co2
I use the London City - Exeter route for work. Door to door, it’s quicker for me to get the plane. Here’s how my journey goes:
Home
Tube
DLR
Plane
Taxi
Hotel
If I take the train it goes;
Home
Tube
Tube
Train
Taxi
Hotel
It is cheaper, and it is quicker, but the flight times are really, really bad for those that use it to get from home in London to work in Exeter. It has been totally designed for people who live in Exeter to get to work in London.
Also you can’t carry liquids on a plane without measuring them out beforehand, which is really annoying every time I want to travel. You could choose to check a bag to get around this but then you’re paying extra, you have to get to London City earlier, and you have to wait in Exeter.
I’m genuinely tempted to say it’s EASIER to get the train despite it being slower and more expensive. For this reason, it will continue to be the people’s choice, even though people love a bargain.
If they change the flight times, I will never use the train again, as flying is just a lot cooler and appeals to me.
PS: check out the route the plane takes out of LCY. It turns back to the east coast, travels out towards the sea, then turns down to the south coast and out over the sea before finally turning to traverse the south coast. This wastes about 15 minutes. If they managed to fix this, the flight would be about 30 mins long, then it would be an absolute no-brainer for most people.
Gonna stick with train
I’d do train because 12 mins slower and it costs less as well but also with plane normally you have to do standard check in and you have to pay more for fast track surcrity
R.I.P. Flybe
You missed out comfort and price
the train was far the best as it was only a tiny bit slower that the plane and the train wold be faster if he had oster rather than bying tickets
routemaster 387 400mph vs 125? Comfort is better on plane and price is ALSO better on plane. Check it out.
I love flybe but they are gone (for now)
RIP
I AM TOM. (except my name’s Matthew and I’m a kid)
To make it as fair as possible all start at the same time
How could the planes door-to-door be less than 2 hours!?
When we flew, we went up in the sky. 👁👄👁
you didn't include the price here what a rip off !
Scotty500
but thats not exeter to london is it !
I could imagine flying would have been cheaper anyway.
+jayjay2016 awe yea, your right
Flybe is usually cheap, with their cheaper tickers costing between £50-£70
Ah yes, but who's really going to fly to City Airport.
Train wins.
Why not? Bombarider Q400, E190's and A220's (formerly Bombardier C-series) can land there and it's right there in the city.
RIP Flybe you will be missed by many
Bro never mentioned enjoying the journey
In the End the Guy who took the plane has to take the dlr in the End the train is the best
What about if your flights delayed? Eg, late on an inbound flight? Happens all the time nowadays. Or you train, for that matter! Also, 9 times out of 10, it’s never possible to park anywhere in Trafalgar Square!
R. I. P Flybe ):
RUclips recommendations anyone?
Love the video try mine about planes it's called jA380ke when's the next video
I choose the Train instead of the Plane because the train puts you right in City plus what time in the Morning was Tom’s Train to London Paddington from Exeter St.Davids and Johnny’s Flybe Flight from Exeter to London City Airport
I agree Train this faster and easier because your right in Central London
RIP flybe BTW Britain thanks for colonizing us
We didn’t colonise you, our leaders did, most brits are anti colonialism
All I see is Flybe plane at the local airport
Very biased. You made the train and car stop for drinks. Furthermore you made the train queue to get oyster rather than already having it. This is a biased result and should be conducted by an independent research facility instead. The results are void for a high potential bias.
***** Well it is a commercial, but in terms of speed I'd say plane would still be the fastest way.
Well I think it depends how cautious the rider is. Although you can pre-check in and save time cautious people will still add a long time before a plane flight of 2-3 hours but on trains the most cautious people will only usually be about 20-40 mins early. The plane journey would obviously be faster. I'd like to be able to recreate this test with more control variables to find which is actually faster as either way it is a close call.
They made the man on it get off at a station to buy refreshments.
Ok Mr Robot. I think I missed the briefing saying everyone must be perfect. But the point is they do still make people stop. He had to stop to top up his Oyster Card where as he didn't. And queues to do that would of made the difference.
+RBXTrains Train stop for drinks ?
That Ferrari bankrupted them
R.I.P. flybe; beautiful liveries and planes - especially the Q-400.
"When we flew, we went up in the sky." No way Sherlock.
Don't you mean No shit sherlock
Im still waiting for my flight
In the end the difference is 12 minutes and the train is cheaper, less stressful, and more environmentally friendly. Always do the train!
Well I dunno, still a big ol’ diesel train, hardly kissing the environment
@@hypotheticlz The line got partially electrified and the new trains are nicer And better for the environment
@@transitcaptain Flybe aircraft are still very environmentally friendly, especially when compared to cars. I expect it really comes down to pricing.
@@ciudad-del-mar they still can’t measure up to how good trains are
I took the train from Manchester to London it was only 2 hours 5 mins the journey on a bullet train 🚅
Looks like most people took the train ☹️
Oop - Flybe ended up getting the train at the end...
Flybe is good i have lots of models of your planes
Wow that was nice!!
Why are trains in the UK so expensive? It’s cheaper to fly.
RIP flybe
Planes shouldn’t be used for short domestic hops in the Uk, it’s not any faster when you take in account security and having to be there at least an hour before departure.
Depends where you're going in the uk really
Still would take train probly cheaper and clearner
I'm sure that Spirit of Exeter is G-JEDU. Despite being pro-flyBE this ad is careful to hide the registration number of the aircraft in use! :o)
Race to London. The cheapest way to get from A the B
What's the quickest way to get here? Well, without a ride, it certainly isn't Flybe these days!
I Like The Slogan From A To Flybe Flybe Is A Great Airline It Also Codeshares With BA Anthor Amazing Airline
How did the plane win when he needed to get the train from city airport to Traf square?
Dunno. Train guy had to buy tickets tho. With an Oyster he could've won.
As much as I love flying, if I had the option to go in a Ferrari California it would make it a much harder choice
I like all three of these ways but I think I'd have to go with the plane.
Give the airline guy one tiny 10kg piece of luggage and he loses the competition.
Fly Maybe
I will reupload on Flybe Virtual Airlines!!! Please give me a permission!!?
Great, I'll buy a bottle of rare gin and bring it back to london with me!!!!!! Sorry, sir you can't take liquids through security. The train is a clear winner when it comes to commuting between 2 major cities. Unless of course you own your own plane.
Uuuuuuhhhhhhhhh FlyBe I am Akhil from 2021 and I should tell you that you have gone Bankrupt. But soon you will be revived again.
Issue is train man had to queue for a ticket
Conner White for the plane you have to go through security and checks so honestly 12 minutes is nothing so train every time for the distance of this race
@@SuperOpticJ Yeah because not everyone can do Fast Track security or whatever better check in stuff plane guy had
