      Guys, this is why they released the exosuit just before this order, gave us time to test it and for them to balance it, we HAVE to use them. We're supposed to for this. This isn't other missions and it's gonna require a team of 4 with suits. I'll jump on in an hour or so and makesure my team has then loaded in before we drop. I for one an excited for the level of difficulty as I've noticed after a certain level of skill the bug missions are just to easy and the only problem with them is ammo limitations.
      They really need to give the mech more ammo like they did when we got it for free. I'll take lowered damage for ammo any day.
      We need like a backpack that can either supply the mech or give us a "melee" for it in the form of a stomp because once it's out of ammo it's just usless(I use it on bots to draw fire after it's ammo is spent and it's a winning strategy)

      Thanks for the content Swany, I'd love to be participating in this story arc as Private Democracy Dispenser of the SES Distributor of Democracy, however my super solid state drive is currently full of other fraudulent games that sold more copies than it's infrastructure could support on launch day, and that are absolute waste of potential/pipe dreams like star citizen. I wish all you helldivers the best of luck in summoning the illuminate into tactical hellbomb barrage range with this bait major order. I will rejoin the fight when Cadet Alexus of the SES Bringer of Balance has been executed for treason and or repurposed as coffee to creamer ratio balance director.

    I was on my super destroyer the other night and one of the officers on my ship said something along the lines of "With the use of this dark fluid, we can finally punch a permanent hole in Meridian, thanks to the leftover dark fluid we found from the illuminates...good thing they're all dead, haha..."

      whats gonna happen is either we fail this order, the super colony goes insane and we get hive lords intoduced. OR... OR we crack the planet like Cadia, the implosion and dark liquid creates a blackhole and now we have the Illuminate coming back but theyll also have to fight the bugs at the breach.

    Our issue was level 4 testing, 80 birds appeared in the air as you tried to extract. No nest, just spawned and endless waves. This mission from start to finish doesn't let up!

      I was on a level 1 mission just to see what the new mo is but 100 shriekers spawned and came out of nowhere, no nest, no nothing and I failed to extract

    Tips for anyone struggling on the new mission:
    • Crowd control and fast-response AT is key
    • Some stratagems/weapons I would personally recommend are:
    - Orbital/mortar EMS
    - Gas strike
    - Gatling sentry
    - Flamethrowers
    - Incendiary or stun grenades
    - EAT/RR
    - Railcannon or eagle rocket pods
    • The drill does take friendly fire so be careful with any eagles or orbitals you use
    • The dark fluid container (backpack) can be used as a jump pack, but I’ve heard it will explode if used too many times
    I’m Lvl 126 and have beat the mission several times now on Helldive with various groups of randoms. If I can do it with randoms, then so can you. Happy diving everyone! :)

      Me and my buddies have not been able to extract from it at all on any difficulty. We can complete the objectives but the moment the shreikers come out we just get shredded immediately. One time I wasn't able to get past the animation of coming out the pod before I was killed

      @@deathmachine200 maybe I just play this game too much but shriekers aren’t too much of a problem for me. Especially if you use shield back pack or jump pack, you can dodge them as long as you keep moving at all times. They’ll almost always miss you as long as you’re not going too slow or strafe into them. It definitely is a challenge though, don’t get me wrong.

    If you guys missed it, the darkfluid backpack acts as a jetpack just better. Flighs higher and recharges faster. Personally, i think it should be the default jetpack

    I like that the devs are providing hints in status reports on places like Heeth that we should focus on it to keep a status boon of the training facility.

    I didn't realize the new mission was so damn hard. Loaded up on a level 8 dark fluid mission expecting a decent challenge, was met with Hellmire-level traumatic experiences.
    We successfully completed our mission, but we barely extracted with our lives.

      level 5, we had bile spewers, having 8 bodies lying around the spawn of the bugs right next to the objective blocking shots made the mission impossible

      You must be strong if you can play on 7.
      I already find normal level 7 missions stressful, but after playing 2 level 5 ones of the event I knew I couldn’t continue

      I seriously dont get why people see this as super hard its like any normal defense / exterminate mission in my expierience, people saying its imposible and i havent had a run where me and my team of randos have lost a drill, didnt even know they could break until now (diff 9) if you are playing with bile spewers in your map maybe thats why? Just reroll for a map without them cuz they ruin all missions

      First time I dropped we all managed to escape on level 8, mission completed. It was hard but we made it. Next 3 drops on 7 we all died, everyone got separated and tried to fight on their own. This mission is forcing us to work together and if we don't, well we usually get rekt

    The dark fluid mission is borderline impossible, though. I don't mind a harder mission and I don't mind suicide missions with tons of shriekers and stuff, but man, this is just plain bullshit. Bugs spawning below the drill, mission objectives floating in the air and way too many bugs even on trivial difficulty? I call bullshit on that one.

      Yeah, it's bugged lol
      And, I may have discovered a fix to the bug breaches directly on the drills.
      And while only playing 3 of these missions so far...I think this will work to get the breaches to spawn further away.
      When you insert the dark fluid into the drill, stay right next to the drill until the breach happens.
      During the 2nd mission we did, i was running around the drill, directly on it essentially, and when the breach happened, they were significantly further, about 40 meters away.
      This was while we were on the 2nd drill of the mission, the first drill took 20 minutes and all but 2 reinforcements.
      But we were able to get through the second drill on the first shot. And then i was right next to it on the third drill and well...
      Sure as shit the same thing happened, both breaches were approximately 40 meters away. And we were able to finish on the first shot.
      During the third mission, thats when i realized that i was standing/running super close to the drill. So i did the same thing on all 3 drills. And it worked great.
      The second drill took us two tries. There was a breach that came within 10 meters, but we defened it very well, we had a straifing run destroy the drill with about 5% remaining on the bar.
      Sad face 😂😂, anyway, give it a try. Hopefully it works, let me know if it does.

      @@Whiskey5_ Glad that worked for you, but standing next to the drill has just resulted in the breach popping up under my feet and eating bug legs and bullets. I'm really hoping that if that's unintended behavior that AH will fix that. I've liked everything else, but the chance that you just get the breach on the drill making that go completely useless doesn't feel like we failed to defend, just didn't get to try at all.

      Tbh I don’t mind the constant spawning. HOWEVER, when they fucking spawn right below the goddam drill and a fucking bile spewer spawns on top of it which then is totally aggroed to the drill then it becomes absolute BULLSHIT. I wouldn’t have a problem with constant spawning if they spawned outside the drill area so we have a chance to fight them off.

    The new mission on Helldive was horrific. When you have a Bile Titan appear directly under the the objective it's nigh on impossible. I think there needs to be a circle around the objective where the bugs breaches don't spawn

      @@Snadzies I just want to use Assault Rifles but they are HUGELY underpowered especially on higher difficulties. When I saw that Polar Patriots Assault Rifle I thought "finally!" and it turned out to be worse than the standard one.. they said they were going to buff all Assault Rifles and the Tenderizer especially, so I hope they deliver on that. No one uses them except sometimes newbies using the Adjudicator, whilst almost anything is better..

    Jesus, they weren't kidding about how crazy the spawn rates are on Meridia.
    It's the most difficult mission I've done to date! Don't know if the bug breaches are broken since they literally pop up right on top of the drill, and don't even get me started on the damn shreikers!
    EMS mortar, EMS Strike, arc blitzer, gatling gun, and flamethrower are your friend. COORDINATION IS KEY!!!
    Also, for some reason, dropping a shield on top of the drill will stop the bug breach on the drill
    Going to do some more testing, but overall, its frustrating, but at the same time, kinda fun (opinions may very)

      This is a entire planet that has been completely all the way down to the mantle turned into a bug hive every inch EVERY SINGLE ONE no shit the spawns are going to be absurd they warned us beforehand this is a suicide mission and unless you're an absolute badass you are not extracting

      @@theasacoco like the whole point of the story post-tcs is that it was impossible to retake Meridia because the entire thing was like one massive bug hole. Of course there are bugs everywhere, why else do we literally have to wipe the planet off the map?

    I Completed mission and it says 1 out of 2 objectives cleared and also if you pay attention, we don't get the XP from the mission, you only get the XP from the time that's left and the number of helldivers that extract so it's definitely bugged lol

    even on the easiest difficulty extracting on this mission is insanely difficult, also ran into a bug were wed do the only objective on the map and it would says we missed something but we still get the medal and completed mission screen

    Idea: The Illuminate come out of the Black Hole that was once Meridia which is why they couldn’t be found for so long and they migrate to one of the currently unused quarter. Also there could be a new planet to replace Meridia called Meridia Secundus.

    What I think he means is it's not going to be the big rebalancing patch that people could get overly hyped over and then be disappointed to not find.
    I think there will be some weapon balance changes, but it will look like previous balance changes where some weapons get minor buffs, and some weapons get some buffs paired with nerfs, but there probably won't be any pure nerfs.
    I don't want to say what weapons I think should get changes or will get changes, although johan did say something about ARs, so I think they might see some change even if it's not damage.

      bro (from this you can assume you are an American) the developers stated it was bugged and so many flying enemies were not supposed to happen, or have a Breach right under the drill. Secondly, enemy spawns are broken leading to, in most cases, WAY MORE enemies than there should be - on ANY planet. But that is finally getting fixed the next patch/along with the patrol rates reset to how they were in past.

    Anyone having trouble with the shriekers at extraction, just bring along some Gatling Turrets. A buddy and I each dropped one and there was hardly anything moving in the skies when we left.

    I dropped in on trivial since I didn't have much time but I wanted to see the mission. I got destroyed lol. The objective was pretty easy though definitely more enemies than expected one trivial. The problem is when I completed the last drill, about 40 shreikers spawned (I am not exaggerating) and I could not hope to kill them all. I got swarmed instantly and killed rising out of my drop pod all 5 respawns in a row. I was definitely not expecting that lol

    Played on tier 8 and 1.
    8, was non-stop assault as soon as we jumped in. The bug breachs spawned under the drill, destroying it instantly even when 3 people were kiteing the rest away the bug breach would still immediately spawn under the drill.
    1, was more manageable, but the end with a never-ending spawn of shreikers was impossible to extract.

    I am able to solo extreme bot missions. And yet I STRUGGLED on a level 3 dark fluid mission. Also fuck you to the dev that programmed 40 shriekers to spawn after you deposit the final fluid.

    just came from a round where endless shriekers spawned once the drills were done and extraction was available, lost 20 reinforcements in blink of an eye and failed to extract :D

    I ran a trivial to learn what to do beforehand, wasn’t able to extract and thought the spawns were a bit much for the difficulty but make sense for the mission. But the extraction yeah nah that’s not happening. I found some spots to sit and be unable to hit, was standing on gas strikes pumping stims killing 40-50 at a time and the skies instantly refill.

    The solution is a stationary shield generator with all the EMS mortars beneath it and well stationed Gatling sentries. The main problem is crowd control here, so bring a stalwart or preferably the MG Strategem. Have one team mate focus on the pump at all times and the others holding off the bugs coming from all directions.

    I like this mission quite a bit. This planet feels like a real Helldive compared to other major orders, and the extreme difficulty of actually deploying these drills due to how infested the planet is is kinda fun. If youre struggling, the Arc Blitzer actually might be optimal for this mission due to how many there are.

    I’ve only played this mission level 8 but have yet to fail a mission. For level 8 difficulty, I have my load out like this:
    Primary: Incendiary Breaker
    Secondary: Redeemer
    Grenade: Stun grenade
    Stratagems:
    -500KG bomb
    -Orbital Rail cannon
    -autocannon sentry
    -Grenade Launcher
    (And the EMS Mortar since it’s being given to Helldivers right now. With the EMS mortar being given , I sometimes switch over to incendiary impact grenades)
    Armor: extra padded medium armor
    Buff: Localization confusion
    This load out gives me the versatility needed to carry a weak squad because of its ability to control large crowds while dealing with the bile titans and armored bile spewers. Chargers don’t give me much a problem because since the map is so small, they get caught with the crowd around corners and I just drop a 500KG on them or orbital cannon if I need to save the 500’s for incoming bile titans. I place the drills near walls or rock if it’s within range bc it seems like it minimizes the bug breaches that open on top of it but not always. I always place my turrets over looking the drill with wide visibility, and have all stratagems ready and turrets placed before placing the drill down and putting in the fluid, also I always resupply often. When I work with a good squad, we can finish the mission with 10-15 min to spare. At the very end when the shriekers come out the holes in a large swarm, I simply zig zag and dive the whole time to avoid being swiped. Sometimes they pile up on extraction so I drop a 500 KG which clears some up a short while Having more than one person with an orbital rail cannon really helps when bile titans spawn directly under the drill but the autocannon sentry MUST be placed prior or you risk them stomping on the drill immediately. Thankfully sometimes they do this weird circle walk so they can spit on it instead and that’s when you can use the 500KG to kill them or damage them enough for the sentry to finish them off. If they do the circle move, place the 500 KG away just enough to not destroy the drill. The stun grenades are for when chargers enter the picture or a ton of hive guards. When it’s a bunch of smaller enemies, the shotgun will take care of them. I reserve the grenade launcher for large crowds and bile spewers or a bunch of hive guards when there’s more than 5 together. With great positioning and movement, I have never gotten less than 300 kills with this load out, since it’s a never ending wave of bugs. The mission is bugged though so I never get all the stars. Also teammates who bring the Tesla towers are more dangerous than the bugs themselves lmao unless they place it properly. Someone with a mech also helps a lot and I see it often used on this mission which does great when defending the drills. I don’t know how it would hold up for level 9 since I reserve playing level 9 for squads I have good synergy with

    Me and 3 friends did level 7. We were really disoriented at first we had 23 minutes left after the first drilling was done. The last 2 went a lot more smoothly. With 10 minutes to extract. We didnt know what to expect and our load outs were horrendous. We all took mines because it was the daily. It was a very difficult mission but at least we all made it out alive.

    Clear Terminids with Eagle Napalm (if you have the ship upgrade, it'll deal 25% more dmg, which is huge) run 3 EMS Shock Mortars and spread them out to cover a large area (to give yourselves time to adjust combat), Oribtal Rail Cannon/Orbital Laser/Expendable Anti Tank for Bile Titans (Spear if you want the bonus of chaff clearing). Grenade Launcher isn't a bad side weapon for chaff clearing either as long as you have distance. 2 people will have dedicated heavy clearing but all 4 will have chaff clearing if organized right.

    We had literal bug breaches spawn on top of the drill. Both times on lvl 7, the first time we got it done but didn't extract them we tried again and got 1 drill done before running out of reinforcements. Challenge is one thing, but a lvl 7 special event feels sweatier than a normal Helldive mission

    New mission type you really need to be careful what stratems youre bring cause the drill takes explosive damage. First few tries i was having trouble cause they kept throwing eagles on the objective. My loadout consistent of flamethrower, disposable antitank, gas strike and 110mm rockets. Also patching bug holes is really helpful cause the bugs are constantly coming out of them and can save you lives so you dont get overwhelmed too fast. Really enjoy this gamemode and im excited to see what happens after we beat this major order.

    Lvl 9 is insane on this mission. I did it for my first time and had no idea what to do or what was going on. Enemies were just spawning in front of me. There was like 30 roaches spawning in my face

      There are already vehicles in the game a Recon Car and a Light Armored Truck, they exist - and in the beginning you could cheat them into your loadout. It's just a question of when they will be released. And the new CEO promised an exchange system, what it means I don't know but it could mean Requisition or Samples can finally be used for other things. For people like me with 50k Requisition it is completely pointless to loot and obtain it.

    Someone in the helldivers discord recomended using an orbital smoke on the drill so the bugs wont attack it immediately. He also said the drill takes friendly fire damage and using stun grenades and orbital stun munitions would also be useful. Quick recharge time and slows down the endless horde. I wouldnt recomend anything that does damage being used close to the drill. I think ill run orbital smoke/stun, eagle napalm, and a stalwart to keep them back. Ill also bring stun grenades and the incendiary breaker. Youre not really expected to face the bugs headon this time or even survive the mission. This is a supercolony. Youre going to get turbo rushed by bugs the best thing to do tbh is delay their advance and run when youre done with the objective. I havent been able to play all week so i am excited to try out the mission myself.

    Destroying the bug holes and spore spewers makes the mission far more easily completable. Bring a support weapon and maybe a turret that can clear waves of enemies when they swarm the drill and you should be good!

    I would love this major order but unfortunately I went through a run where upon initiating the drill, the breach would occur directly under it. It prevented us from unloading anything on the breach because we would destroy the drill ourselves. Then sometimes a bile titan or charger would spawn out of it and just obliterate the thing anyway. Additionally upon finishing the mission successfully the one time where that didn't happen, the game treated it as though we didn't succeed the mission at the reward screen even though it registered the success at the operation screen. Otherwise though its a fun mission, and the shriekers at the end go crazy

    One word for those struggling on the new mission: Stun.
    1. Kill the bug holes
    2. Delete the spore towers
    3. Kite existing enemies away from the drill while preparing yourselves
    4. Drop an eagle smoke, shield generator, resupply, and orbital EMS literally on top of the drill, then start it
    5. Player 1 literally just permanently stuns everything on the drill. Hold your stun until it explodes in your hand, wait a couple seconds, then do it again. Resupply as needed. Bile spew is stopped by the shield, so the only thing that can destroy it now is bile titan legs, so…
    6. Player 2 is on crowd control for players 3 and 4, NOT THE DRILL. Swap roles or kick if they shoot even remotely close to the drill. Players 3 and 4 get recoilless rifles so they can plow through bile titans with team reloads.
    Haven’t figured out a great strategy for the 50-80 flying monsters that infinitely swarm you during extract. I figure that’s just the cost of liberty.

      My strat for the ending ended up being gattling turrets followed with Blitzer spam as soon as any got close, and using the mech if I had it off Cooldown to wipe out anything ground based for my teammates to focus the skies.

    Tried doing dark fluid mission on Trivial. Deploying the fluid was easy enough, using EMS mortars and stun grenades to stun the bugs for the minute that the drill needs, but the Shriekers on evac are just obscene. Haven't even tried it on a higher difficulty.

    The dark fluid is extremely difficult even on Trivial difficulty. I tried it on Trivial like four times. I deployed all of the fluid every time, only managed to extract once due to the swarms that pop up once you deployed all the fluid

    Imagine if we *could* fail on Meridia. They would have to have the Terminids take over more worlds and get closer to Super Earth, plus the use of Dark fluid would still end up calling in the Illuminate. As much 'fun' as that sounds like, that also sounds like a set up to turn the game into some 'dark future' where Super Earth is conquered and who knows what else would happen from there.
    Imagine no more strats due to no more resources. Imagine no new weapons because all weapon research facilities had been destroyed. FUN.

    Focus on bugholes first to reduce spawn pop.
    Also, grenade launcher backpack combo.
    The stupid drone can't close bugholes . But a GL can... And with 80 spare grenades on your back, there's not gonna be much that can stay in your way for long.
    3 direct hits kills brood commander. 2 hit kill on spewer kill if landed on booty.
    1 shot for everything smaller except the hive guards but if you're rocking the senator, hive guards will die with a follow up shot placed on the head.
    Bile titans I recommend EAT for at least half the crew. Don't just call it down when you need it. Call it every time it cools down and break the container so you can find them on the mini map.
    Wait til it tries to spit, get distance, pop it's belly with GL then 1 shot EAT to the face. Half it's health reservoir is in its sack as well as it's ability to spit. Busting this will eliminate range attack and make it much weaker.
