I had a chance to see this wonderful lady sing this song at the Hawaiian Regent with my Mother after a wedding there. A special moment we’ll never forget that makes me smile when I think of that night. Much Aloha to everybody that’s here.

Listening to KINE in Oahu while working. They play this several times a day and her voice blows me away every time. Wow!

Whenever I think of my years in Hawai'i nei, Aunty Genoa's beautiful, clear and unique voice is singing this song in my head. What a lovely and gracious lady she was...a real treasure.

We were probably in the audience. We were devoted fans. The first song I ever fell in love with was a 49th State recording of Aunty Genoa singing Alekoki and I was ten in 1950. My mom was a dancer of every kind of ethnic dance she could find & bought records at Ed Kremmer's downtown SF store. She took hula classes & every other kind. I also loved the dance, but became a singer
of ethnic and American traditional music. Things like this and Auntie Alice are popping up on RUclips and it is WONDERFUL! Oakland CA 2022

I met and talked to her in Waikiki. Have a picture together. About three years before she died. She reminded me so much of my Japanese mother-in-law.
