everybody is keen on photovoltaics, but China, Shanghai, besides PV, also develop a 100MW ThMoltenSaltReactor until 2035, with a full Th232_fuel - Protactinium233 chemical treatment cycle. Siemens is a leader in industrial Gas-turbines! A 100MW_el ThMSR is too small. If China goes to a 750MW class MSR it would increase the economics of the necessary chemical treatment facilities. The reactor should still be inherently safe and any corrosion problem of reactor vessels would also be relatively eased. (Tritium and Xenon sequestration are also a must, even for small MSRs!) At the same time, if a 750MW_el Brayton cycle CO2_gasturbine would be available for the Chinese industry, the company, that can supply such a turbine will be a winner!
The problems with high temp, high-pressure CO2_supercritical turbines are gap-losses especially in transient power-up mode, and power down. This makes small turbines almost unfeasible unless someone has new ideas on his drawing board.
