  • In this episode of The Alternative Travelogues, we visit a derelict boat which once hosted royals and music legends. Oh, and it had a fish and chip shop on board.

There use to be one in Middlesbrough which you could see from the Transporter Bridge coming over from Port Clarence. But as the Transporter itself is now a decaying heap of rust I don't know if the ferry is still there.I think that it had been a night club for a while and might be the one that was at Gateshead for a while called the Tuxedo Princess?

Youre correct it was a floating night club moored in Newcastle it was a popular Saturday night venue it has a twin sister the tuxedo royale dont know what happened to that one

Bit of a sad waste isn't it? Surely it'd be better to sell it off for scrap than to leave it partially submerged until the end of time. Especially if no one wants to repair it.
