      David Baril Thanks for watching. Once you have the forks in the position shown, you can slide them forward or backward a little to get the best pivot.

    Thank you for puting this technique online here on RUclips. This technique is used mainly in the restaurants of Australia and maybe over the world. It helps to train Hospitality students to be better servers / waitpersons with the Hospitality Industry

      Thanks for your feedback. It is a useful way of picking up food (or marbles) without using those spring loaded tongs.

    If you use a fork and s spoon, it is better to put the spoon at the bottom because it is easier to serve sauce this way.

      Well, I'm sure you are overstating it. If you are in the food industry, knowing how to serve food will give you an edge and shows professionalism. Keep practicing and you'll amaze yourself. Mmm, if only I know how to twirl that fork around my fingers.

    Very impressive for looking like a good hostess, you make it look so easy and teach it so quickly. I'm sure with practice I'll get it down with poise and grace.
    I recently got a table I'd been wanting for a long time, Danish modern designer and little teak accents. We've been having a lot more sit down dinners lately and it highlighted just how much I don't know even if I am pretty good at the cooking part.

      You are too modest. Practice by moving the utensils forward or backward in your hand to find the right balance.

    Hmmm, I understand the finger positions, how you are holding them, but for some reason, i cannot manipulate them to open and close. Are you mainly moving your first finger and thumb?

      da5idnz You are right. Move the first finger and thumb with the upper fork against the stationery second fork. Just practice a little. Good luck.
