But if you really want this trucker life you will adopt super quick. I appreciate your support and take it easy on swift, they are a huge company 😂
As somebody who would smoke here and there, some grass, I gave it up 3 months ago, more or less and I keep telling myself and my spouse that I gave it up for a better job at trucking. I used to work call centers where they would test once during the hiring process and not again when hired. Its something I told my spouse. I'm doing this for my kids. A better job that pays 10-15k a year more than call centers in the first year.
That’s a very good move to stop smoking the weed. I have nothing against it and I think in the future when I am done with trucking , I can see myself smoking it once in awhile. Smoking weed will make you stay at that call center job for way too long, because they weed will make you feel stress free and don’t have any urge to push for better. You are going to see big changes when you stop smoking weed for awhile. Stuff you would normally delay, you will just get it done right away.
Great intro man; had me going. Random crap is why I always hated going into a terminal when I was a company driver; a waste of my time, which is a waste of my money.
Something that every CDL holder must take into consideration is what the Federal Government considers a drug when applied to CDL holders and that list is long, so becareful what you ingest, even if it is legal over the counter. I have seen many OTR truckers fail a drug test because they bought an over the counter pill at a truck stop.
The next real fun part of drug tests; is when a CDL holder gets selected for a random drug test at a DOT weigh station !! Talk about nerve racking; even if you know 1000% you are clean.
Also keep in mind trucking companies have used "random" drug tests in the past to thin the company driver pool. A persons drug test can always come back dirty and there is nothing the company driver can do, why is this done you may ask. Answer is very simple; that thins the expenses if the budget is tight.
Stay positive! As long as you know ur not doing any kind of drugs don't even worry about get tested randomly that's just a waist of unnecessary worrying. BIG UP STAY STRONG BROTHER! ✌🏿

Place I worked several years ago pulled me for a 'random' almost every month. I was one of very few that could pass at any time and they needed the stats. Place is closed now. I saw the crap and got out a couple years before they imploded.

I blocked a car dealership drive way because the light turn to red and I stopped. But prime gave students three times to pass the test, so I pass on the second try. I went like 5 years without one.Then I got one in Springfield got out to Salt Lake got one.When we went through Pittston I got one !
Wow the made up for those years you missed with you 😂 I totally forgot about random drug test because I was at the terminals every week for the past few weeks. When the guy told me random that’s when I remember drugs and drug testing 😂
@RomaneTheTrucker I went to one of the party's. I didn't drink anything.I rarely drink.I got an alcohol test when I went to get the bills from driver lineup.They put a strip in my mouth.

I had 2 Randoms in 1 year it's totally normal. Carriers have to meet a quota each quarter so if your a top driver your most likely gonna get picked to keep there score up.

I’ve been with Prime since December and I still haven’t gotten one but I know it’s coming my lol. I thought I would get one last month when I was at Prime1 😅
😂😂 they have a list right now with a bunch of names so make sure you are ready to take one just incase your name is on the list.
It doesn’t make sense to wanna do any drugs when you’re driving 🚛.

All mega carriers give new upgrade drivers a drug test in the first two months… don’t be surprised if you get another one a month from now. To the driver it’s random for the company it’s planned. It’s how the mega carriers operate
The next one they may just call you and say go to concentra in whatever state you in and you have 1 hour to get there. They will say park at the closest truck stop and they will send you a Uber

Talk to your recruiter tell her/he you forget to add the referral. If not when you doing the paper application at orientation you could add it. If not that’s cool, my aim is to help give out the information people need.

Newyork state Newyork cdl weed is legal you could smoke weed and drive
Weed is not federally legal and cdl job is governed under federal laws. Weed smoking is not legal in trucking. And even if it does, I wouldn’t recommend smoking weed and driving I semi truck on less you’re not about to drive and are going to sleep.

Lol, almost every time I go to the terminal, I get randomly selected for a drug test. None of my students have been tested when they're with me, but the computer always seems to pick me! I've had at least 14 drug tests so far, and I don't even smoke cigarettes, lol
