    Always keep reefer full in summer months because it works extra hard to keep stuff cold or frozen.

      Yeah that’s a fact. It burns faster when it’s hot out. I will try and keep a better management on this reefer fuel

    This is a great story for anyone who wants to get in the trucking industry. From start to finish, this is how your day can go. Even with the best planning, these roads are unpredictable.

    Always try to run as close to the 90 as quickly as possible because you never know what can happen... If you were lease you could have fueled the reefer without calling the fuel desk and you'd be going 65 mph just FYI

    • @RomaneTheTrucker
      @RomaneTheTrucker  Месяц назад

      That’s a fact about fueling up the reefer as a lease op. I also believe you get one free full up as a lease op. I will try and get closer to the 90 if my clock allows me. I worry about finding parking so sometimes I might grab an early parking spot then travel the distance with a fresh clock.

    Understand also , if u end up being late its not the end of the world bro ! U mentioning alot of stuff thats out of your control . The only thing u needed to make sure was that your reefer was full other than that , traffic , weather , weigh u cant do nothing about bro . I get it your new so u dont wanna mess up but soon enough u will realize its always something in trucking. Even on my best days , i expect the worst ! Also to if u truely feel like u cant make it and u want a extra cushion , call dispatch and let them know so they can let the brokers know ! Stay up fam🫡

    • @RomaneTheTrucker
      @RomaneTheTrucker  Месяц назад +1

      Respect fam for the advice. I will definitely hit up dispatch if I am running late. Like you said anything can happened out here and cause an uncontrollable delay. 😃💪🏾

    they killin you my guy, you can be making major money with these 2,000 plus miles if you were lease. but the thing is there making you run all those miles knowing you will only get cents on the mile and not dollars. when you look back after you finally start leasing and they very rarely if ever give you long loads like that. then you will see how they are just using you. you should drive local for company or lease for otr.. i drive prime as well im not misleading you big bro... you can still get a sleeper on a dedicated route with a smaller truck and fridge in the front seat... you should rethink it...

    • @RomaneTheTrucker
      @RomaneTheTrucker  2 месяца назад +4

      You’re correct, but After I learn to creep then I will walk into lease, then run into local. I am still a rookie. Am just out here cutting my teeth. 😃💪🏾 I know how much per week I am satisfied with, and at the moment I am good. I know why I don’t go lease at the moment. 😃🫡

      Yup, I completely agree with you, but let him learn the job. I did 6 months as company driver and then went leasing. I will never go back as company driver.

    Anytime you get out of a truck stop or downtown area make sure to keep your google map satellite view on. Qualcomm navigo and truck navigo sometimes take time . Especially navigo loss connection in some areas.
    Always make sure to fill reefer fuel before going to shipper and reciever becuase sometimes they can take 8 hours to unload and the doors are open and they need that fuel. ..when there is not enougth time fill fuel when you are taking your 30 mins break ( make sure to put on duty fuel while filling fuel though)
    From my experience...if you have to drive two hours to a locatio. then leave 3 hours early, but if you are going to downtown area or have to pass a big city especially in the morning traffic or evenkng traffic, leave 4 hours early.
    If you habe to drive 5 hours make sure to give extea 2 or 3 hours and if you have to drive 10 hours to a location give extra 3 to 4 hours.
    Then while planning your trip open google satellite view and see how your location looks like, is it crowded city, village , farm
