Thrifted Flannel Shirt Upcycles!

- I found 5 shirts at my local thrift store for $4 each and I had a great idea! I upcycled these into great gifts for some family and friends. These were a big hit, honestly, I'm kinda sad I miscounted and didn't have one for myself!
I used 4 flannel shirts, 1 denim shirt, 3 old t-shirts (also thrifted), bandanas from another project, and some bleach. Which is your favorite?

This was fun!
I’ve just started this hobby and I liked seeing how you tried different bleach methods and your creative shirt back ideas. 😊
@@gailsbookishthings5191 thank you! It was so much fun to do. Enjoy your new hobby! 😁
❤ TFS
They turned out really cute!
@@gretchen_needs_a_dog thank you
LOVE the denim shirt! Very fun
@@AskingSpot thank you! This was so much fun!
I like your creative spirit and thriftyness! I've experimented with using a professional spray bottle (it's stronger) filled with water and a small amount of bleach. It's important to shake the bottle thoroughly before spraying. I spray designs on the front of shirts that have unremovable food stains, but still have a lot of life.
@@katherinebrown5701 thank you. I thought about a spray bottle. I was kinda worried about how windy it was though. Yes! Definitely life left in the shirts and so many things you can do with them.
Heather! You are so fun and wow! These shirts came out SO cute!! The tee shirt cut-outs are a nice surprise & the denim shirt came out WAY cuter than I imagined. This is my personal fave! So, so, so cute! And I wish I could sew like you. I can mostly muck up a bobbin, so I gave up my sewing machine long ago. 😅
@@OwlingDogDesign thank you! I got the ideas for using the shirts from Pinterest. I have to tell you, I absolutely had so many problems with sewing these. At one point, there was such a tangle that I couldn't get anything to move and I was sure I'd broken everything. I don't even really know how I fixed it!

If you can find natural fabrics, this works faster😊
Are you sure there was bleach in that bucket? Lol. I have never seen anything like it before. Your shirts were great!!!
@@diysbydar I genuinely started to wonder 🤣
Thank you!
My favorite was the denim shirt. I know what you mean about decorative stitching taking longer. I found a darning zigzag stitch works well.
@@katherinebrown5701 thank you ☺️
just my opinion, they look like a laundry mistake.
@@mexipatti But a very cute laundry mistake. Make all the boy laundry mistakes go WAAHHH 🤣🤣🤣
