This was a great panel. He has such magnetism and charm, and his story about William Shatner is heartwarming. I've heard so many negative stories about people's interactions with The Bill over the years (which I will not share) it's refreshing to hear the other side. Vic is a true standout. His enthusiasm is outright infectious. If there's such a thing as a spokesperson for Star Trek fandom, it should definitely be Vic Mignogna
This show is absolutely awesome, can't say enough the appreciation I have for all the hard work the STC cast and crew, keeping the original Star Trek "feel" alive after 50 years, nicely done!
Thank you Stuart and Samuel for that recording and a big thank to Vic for sharing his amazing love and dedication, it's heartwarming to see someone realising himself and sharing his passion. Star Trek Continues is an incredible show, how can CBS and Paramount be so hateful against such great endeavours.
Because Alec is also trying to create something great, so he is responsible for CBS and Paramount being greedy and immoral? Wow, that's a strange way to see our world but ok.
Winkelried The man tried to a build a production company and profit on an IP that wasn't his or authorized for his use, and now all the fan productions have to suffer because of him. Before the Axanar debacle, CBS and Paramount were very lenient when it came to enforcing their IP, that all changed because of that asshole. They're not being greedy or immoral, they are enforcing their intellectual rights, they are hunkering down because they don't want another Alec Peters pulling a stunt like that. So, yes I think Alec Peters is responsible for this situation. And you're welcome to disagree.
I've also heard it could be because Discovery is possibly set during the time period of Axanar. Having a big fan production of the same story, right along side their brand new show could serve to flatten the launch of a brand new Star Trek.
If only they could. CBS/Paramount have recently issued some severely draconian rules regarding fan productions that make stuff like Star Trek Continues impossible to make.
In the Japanese version of Fullmetal Alchemist's anime adaptations, Edward has been voiced by Romi Park. In the English version, the role has been played by Vic Mignogna.
Vick has earned great honors among the hearts and mines of dedicated trekkies. Many of us around his age that lived and breathed Star trek are eternally grateful for his Star trek continues.
I only recently started watching Star Trek Continues, but it is eerie that at some angles Vic Mignogna does actually look like a younger William Shatner. And he has his voice and mannerisms down pretty good, too. I am not really into anime, so I didn't know who he was prior to this, but after looking him up, I am surprised how much stuff he has done that I actually heard of (even if I didn't watch it).
Star Trek Continues is very well done and a super cool continuation of the original. I wish they could have made more than nine. But the ones they made are a treasure and l think should always be considered an official part of Star Trek lore!! Star Trek Phase ll is also very good!!
I'm waiting for episode 8. I've seen episodes 1-7 and they're awesome. I hope that the next episode will feature spock's father Amb. Sarek played by Adam Nimoy, Lenard Nimoy's son.
Wow, Vic Mignogna is 53? Does NOT look it. I love what they've done with continuing the five year journey! Vic is more "Kirk" that the Shat was, imo. They have a filming style that even has the mint green and magenta lighting:) And great stories that I like watching again.
Very interesting. Those lines from The Doomsday Device are also my most memorable. I always thought that that dialog had a strong potential for comedy, black comedy perhaps. It was gratifying to see this confirmed by the fact that as it was performed, some people started laughing.
Wonderful that you HAD A DREAM THAT YOU WAS ABLE TO LIVE IT, Thank Vic for an enjoyable ride a board the USS ENTERPRISE that continued it's mission till it's end.
captain Isaac garret which captain do you like acting more Jame t kirk or Isaac Garret? is Isaac garret the grandfather to Rachel garret of the use enterprise c
iirc the name captain garret also appears in fan film Star Trek Exeter. Depicting another captain garret as captain of the USS Exeter (Constitution class)
I can see how you could make that mistake, human memory being what it is, but the name of the Captain of the aforementioned USS Exeter is John Quincy Garrovick, played by James Culhane.
Star Trek Continues is the show I had been hoping every fan production would be. Simply put, it is everything its title promises and more. I'm not a fanatic and have never been to a convention, but I have to give respect where it is due. It is the best among many great fan productions simply because of the tight writing and absolute preservation of the Trek spirit. Also, I had no idea Vic did the voice over for Ouran High School Host Club. I watched it subbed because I never watch any anime dubbed. I think I'm going to rewatch it dubbed to hear the difference and to geek out on Vic. 8D
I love STC. I hope Vic can get his personal life sorted out. He truly is a visionary. As someone who grew up in a messed up "family" life, I can vouch for how painful it can be and how it can follow you for the rest of your life.
Wait a minute.. If Vic is in Star Trek online, an official production... does that mean he's not allowed to work on fan films anymore? **Head Asplode**
I never really thought about the appeals of Star Trek captains as characters until this video... wow, that's powerful stuff I'm a bit lame as I can't decide being a Changeling/Founder, Vulcan, or Andorian
+power543 - STC's sets are in Kingsland, Georgia. ST:NV was produced in Ticonderoga, New York in a building that used to be a Dollar General store. They aren't on opposite coasts, but they are a good long distance apart.
10:42 This is why I love Vic. He's a dead ringer for the Shat, and acts with ten times the conviction.

I really like Star Trek Continues
It and New Voyages/Phase II= amazing
Vic's explanation of why he loves Captain Kirk so much brought tears to my eyes.
Vic's talent, dedication, hard graft and positivity are a real inspiration.
Alec Peters that's why.

Especially when it's highly likely that said fan production would be far superior and more respectful of canon than the 'official' production.
STC rocks! Vic, thanks for everything & please keep it coming!
If only they could. CBS/Paramount have recently issued some severely draconian rules regarding fan productions that make stuff like Star Trek Continues impossible to make.
Love Star Trek continues !!

I think Mr. Shatner tells the story of working with Vic at conventions in "The Captains" dvd I picked up.
Wow, Vic Mignogna is 53? Does NOT look it. I love what they've done with continuing the five year journey! Vic is more "Kirk" that the Shat was, imo. They have a filming style that even has the mint green and magenta lighting:) And great stories that I like watching again.
I love that there was a Bunny in the audience.

I gotta tell you. I teared up.
Love the part when he finally tells Bill what he means to him
Wonderful that you HAD A DREAM THAT YOU WAS ABLE TO LIVE IT, Thank Vic for an enjoyable ride a board the USS ENTERPRISE that continued it's mission till it's end.
Vic do you see any more acting for character captain Isaac garret?
I'm a bit surprised that nobody asked if there will be a future for "Star Trek Continues".
This was filmed before the fan film guidelines came in...it states the filming date at the start of the video.
power543
Thank you, I didn't realize that.
Not a problem! :)
more like discontinued lol
Star Trek the motion picture would be the continuation, wouldn't it?

I love Star Trek Continues. I wonder how they got around CBS's draconian restrictions.
I never really thought about the appeals of Star Trek captains as characters until this video... wow, that's powerful stuff

This guy is amazing if star trek continues ever gets a cease and desist it will break my heart
He's 53? goddamn
he turns 54 on Aug 27, the same day JUNO starts sending back info on Jupiter.
The day after my birthday. He's in great shape damn.
+BonadanAlloy One time police officer...
He's a year older than I am. Yet he looks like he's in his 30s.
@@Bondanalloy he's 58 now
General question for anyone: do Star Trek New Voyages and Star Trek Continues share the same sets?
Nope...and the sets are on each coast so a long way apart!
Thanks for letting me know!
+power543 - STC's sets are in Kingsland, Georgia. ST:NV was produced in Ticonderoga, New York in a building that used to be a Dollar General store. They aren't on opposite coasts, but they are a good long distance apart.
from every thing I've heard this man say before, I have to say this man has an incredible ego.
His voice sounds like Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist.
his shirt matches the banquet table drape,...........,i swear i thought he was headless..
He’s not Kirk. He’s not an actor hired to play Kirk.
Ugh, fan fiction and fan films....
That's what I thought until watching these episodes. Eps 1 and 2 blew me away with the guest stars they were able to attract.
This are far past your average fan film, the quality is professional.
